It seems that GTA V may be getting a new edition for this top-selling third-person shooter. Amazon Germany set up a new product listing for something called Grand Theft Auto V – Premium Edition, over the weekend. As you would expect, the listing has already been removed. According to sources the listing claimed that the Premium Edition would land March 23 for PS4 and Xbox One at a price of €69.95 (about $86.00)

 

That’s about all we know from the alleged listing – no other information has been shared. Rockstar Games has also been silent on the matter, so I guess we’ll just have to wait until March to hear if this edition does or doesn’t exist.

 

Recently GTA V hit 90 million sales worldwide, so it would make sense that Rockstar would release another edition to celebrate this achievement and to generate extra sales, read more about this achievement, here.

There's some speculation on other sites that this is a re-release to encompass 4K and 60fps.

Thinking about it, I see what your saying. Something newer to appeal again somehow. But it really wouldn't surprise me. They rehash the lot, won't be a game of the year edition or anything. Or could it?. Maybe a physical copy with all DLC on the disc, so players can access the newer online vehicles in story mode.

If it's just a 4k and 60fps version then fair enough. But if it comes with exclusive content I'll be a bit p*ssed. Most of us are already 2, 3 or even 4 copies deep by now.

 

I'm not buying a 5th copy when I get around to getting a PS4 pro (waiting until I see a discount on the glacier white version). I could be tempted by the 4k and 60fps, if there's exclusive content I'm not getting it on principle alone.

well premium does fit better on the box

 

it could be that starter pack,could be a massive cash card bundle,could be a GOTY edition.

It was apparently listed as having 4k upgrades for the Xbox One X. I would be pleasantly surprised if Rockstar did go through with giving GTA V Xbox One X enhancements. I doubt it'll be 60 fps though, unless they allow you to choose what you want your console to prioritise (graphics, frame rate, etc) similar to what some of the newer game titles coming out are doing.

it can't be a exlusive pro version with exclusive content because that's not allowed according to sony. Would be a little unfair if they also were going to play with the people with the regular version also, would totally f*ck up racing at least

So long as the X and Pro never have special vehicles or new stuff regular One and 4 people can't have, I'll be fine with this. I just don't want something like the Dominator Classic, driveable train, or nightclubs on a upgraded console I'm not shelling out for. Getting a Switch after all so I can keep playing Pokemon games.

Premium Edition sounds like the best from what we had. I doubt they will stab all players with new generation and abandon current.

 

As for fps and 4k, it's still restricted in online games, because unfair, by Sony politics at least.

If this is real, unless they're planning on adding a new map, a whole new story mode expansion and every single popular request for DLC, such as cops and crooks etc, they can take this repackaged sh*t and shove it where the sun don't shine.

yeah i still think it will just be a "complete" edition or the criminal starter pack in a phyisical form.

 

might be good for people who don't have the game,but for people who already do have it,it's realy not worth the 70 dollar tag.

 

i just can't see them adding something exclusive to this version to make it worthwhile. it's not like the jump between last gen and current gen where it made sense to have something extra.

 

at best it will be the game with all the dlc on disc plus all the free stuff from that criminal pack.

Premium for me meant custom non-P2P servers and subscription on DLCs around $5 per month. It does not anymore, I have reduced my play time significantly.
