GTA v premium edition

At best, some slightly improved graphics and details, along with the cars and weapons from Online hastily thrown into the game. It'll still be the bland mess it's been since 2013.

Take the release announcement with a large rock of salt. San Andreas Stories was accidentally "announced" the same way.

I'm pretty damn sure that this so-called GTA V: Premium Edition will be just a package of GTA Online DLC compared to other COD titles with MP dlc in 1 price of $60 lol [PS4 Pro/XONEX enhancement might be nice though!]

Rockstar needs to stick their nose on a story DLC like asap before RDR2 drops around this year..

But, GTA V has nothing extra on top of the original game that could be even be included in a "premium" version. It only has online stuff, which is all free. Makes no sense.

Criminal enterprise starter pack or Shark Card bundle to get started in gta online with a bonus free single player tutorial included 😉 Edited by Darealbandicoot

They wouldve never called it Premium edition thenThat's the most logical step here. Unless they bundle it with a single player dlc or online cars in story mode, it's just going to be another cash grab with a shark card or online starter pack included unfortunately.

I can not see why they would make the Online stuff available in SP at this point. That would lessen the attractiveness of Online and R* have been clear on that they will add more stuff for Online. But hey, I would love to be wrong.

I'd so love if all online features were available in sp.

1) The same game as the PS4 and Xbox One versions, with most DLC preinstalled and some additional stuff (similar to the Collector's Edition).

2) The 4K remaster for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, with DLC up to April 2015 preinstalled.

3) Some [crappy] tie-in with Shark Cards.

My issue with this is, if it doesn't contain SP DLC how can they get away with charging $80+ for a game that's like five years old?

Simply jacking it up for 4k/Wii isn't going to justify that price.
Including a disk with the FREE DLC included on it, isn't going to justify the price hike either....
Sticking a Shark Card in it is just like a drug dealer giving away the first dose to make sure kids keep coming back.
And honestly, if there is a Shark Card included, what's the point of buying the same version of a game to get one when you could buy it separately?
Makes absolutely no sense.

So it has to be something new, or the price is wrong, or this is a shameless cash grab and nothing more.
The game still goes brand new for around $30 now, right? So that means there needs to be something that's worth an additional $50....

What's that gonna be? Because they cannot justify that price for the DLC you can download for nothing over a few hours hooked up to the Internet? Has to be something, like a game expansion of some kind to justify this kind of pricing. Unless it's listed wrong, of course..... or they are literally setting out to bamboozle gamers into paying for Free DLC directly, rather than through Shark Cards?

Not for "free" DLC you'd get anyway with an older copy of the game. I'm pretty sure there are laws or regulations against charging people for things that had otherwise been considered free by previous customers, so this can't be about the online DLC's because if it is then that's some serious shadiness and will kill a lot of people's trust in Rockstar.

My bet is that the premium edition comes with story mode DLC or GTA IV & EFLC remastered plus Liberty City for GTA Online.

Also willing to shoot the rumor down as FAKE NEWS considering this happened before with Rockstar titles which t3h P3NgU1N 0f d00m alluded to with San Andreas Stories. Also consider the Vice City Nights thing as well.

The caveat would be with included 4K visuals; akin to the PC version, but for consoles. Essentially, #2 on my list.

Though I don't see #1 being impossible. They could include some sh*t in the form of a "next-generation collector's edition," and bypass said laws.

Also, I think worth mentioning for this topic, is that GTA IV will be celebrating its 10-year birthday this year, so maybe there's a tie-in with that.

I find it odd timing considering the IV thing too. I'm wondering if maybe they'll be a game expansion or some such, or just a remastered version of IV included in the pack. The latter is probably the most likely, but odd to release it with V considering IV would probably sell just as well on its own. And again, $50 is a lot of money for a ten year old game remastered.

Thinking of how R*/T2 shut down that Liberty City mod, I'm starting to wonder if this premium edition is going to allow players to venture to LC as one of the three V protags, or all/online time.....That would certainly win a lot of people over, breathe new life into the game, and explain why no map changes have been made in San Andreas.

I guess we'll see.

No way they will include gta 4 (a game with NO microtransactions) along with their biggest cash cow gta online. gta v is just a front for gta online now. They will include a Shark card and or the criminal enterprise starter pack to entice you to buy and play with all the online only goodies. Plus they already charge $50+ for the game digitally with shark cards and CESP included so why not make physical versions of that using the same unpatched disc from 2014 and manufacture as cheap as possible to gain more profit and potential shark card sales. Nothing would personally justify the price increase, since £40-50 is already the plateau of what most people will pay. But, if collector editions of other franchises are anything to go by, £100-120 for this version seems plausible, and not out of the ordinary. It would make sense for the money to include a remastered GTA IV with the game, but I don't think that will happen. Also, don't be fooled; £50 for a 10-year-old game is exactly what these companies would do. Just look at Nintendo; games that the other four consoles already have, and have had for years, are going for ludicrous money on the Switch.

As Darealbandicoot (Crash FTW) said, a GTA IV remaster would most likely retract users from GTA Online. In fact, he/she just made a valid point. How much are the "criminal enterprise starter packs"? That might explain it, obviously with a small discount and with something else included as well, otherwise there would be no reason to buy it versus the standard game, and then to buy the pack separately (probably cheaper that way since the game is dropping in price).

@DylRicho Interestingly Rockstar are selling 4 versions of Gta v on PSN, The base game, the criminal enterprise edition a criminal enterprise editon with a bonus whale shark card and the "Complete bundle edition" Which includes the starter pack and a megaloadon Card. More than likely the premium edition in store will be the Criminal enterprise starter pack bundle for 69.99 since the game sells for around 25-30 and the starter pack on its own is around 44.99.

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know that. It sounds like you might be right.

I'm guessing the only justification here is that there's so much added to the game now, that Rockstar is offering new players the ability to set themselves up so as to decrease their disadvantage. But that won't stop losers griefing in any of the recent vehicles added.

When do Rockstar mention anything that's NOT GTAO in between the months long wait of RDR2 hype.

It's EXACTLY what we thought it was. GTA V bundled with the sh*tty starter pack and apparently it's replacing the base version of the game with this except it's jacking the price back up to 60

How disappointing.... But knowin Rockstar 2.0, it was to expect. At least, they could call this GTA Online : Premium Edition.

They're selling the base game + the free DLC's + Shark Cards 70 bucks when the servers will be empty in october because of RDR2 release.

Even if the online content is worth the price, it's lame to sell the game for the 3rd time with 0 new content into GTA5.

For me, they're just milking the community (again) until the very last drop. I lost hope in the company. (And please, don't tell me everything is because of T2.)

At this point, this is getting ridiculous.
