Increasing ped densities

For nearly three years now, I have struggled with this. I have managed to get vehicular traffic nearly perfect. Tons of traffic coming from all directions, doubling up during rush-hour. I have managed this through edits to both popcycle, vehicles.meta, and gameconfig. But between popcycle and gameconfig, ped densities remains the same as "vanilla" values. Somehow the game is absolutely ignoring any changes to the values under "config population" where it pertains to peds. To prove the point, I raised values to a 100 K in the peds multiplier values, max total peds, and even the ped memory multiplier. In addition I have raised values for peds in popcycle as well. Something tells me, I could lower these values to 0, and the outcome would be the same in terms of ped densities.

I have extensively gone through every .dat, .xml, and .meta file I could find, looking for something that was negating my efforts to increase ped densities, and have come up short. Anyone have any ideas on WTF is standing in my way? If not, is it possible a script could be coded to say quadruple these densities?

Ok. I think I may have finally found what has been standing in my way this whole time. Probability values in ambientpedmodelsets needs to be increased. Will test and report results once I am able to.

I am literally begging you on my kneeled on my knees if you can find what the hell is that obstacle please and please and please tell me too. I have been trying to increase ped density for more than a week because the game feels almost like a ghost town (I love realism and you know how populated L.A. streets normally are) however I can't even change their numbers by 1... Traffic density changes with gameconfig.xml, bird and fish density changes with popcycle.dat but peds just not. So please if you happen to find out what it is, I'm truly begging you to tell me too :/

Thank you so much :) After I found it and checke through it's content, I had a think it was yours honestly :) Had to change randomevents a bit (too much police activity :D at the first I thought I am in the Bright movie lol :D ) but a wonderful very well done mod. Thank you very very much for this, it was something I was looking for a quite a very long time :)

@Shnockered1 I only have 1 small problem with that mod though (sorry if I'm bothering you :/ ) I am seeing many vehicles spawns without a driver or any ped in them and they are like driving autonomously. As for ground vehicles, it seems not to be much of a problem for me however as for aerial vehicles it's causing a bit of a problem. I am seeing Titans and Besra keep falling from the sky and crashing to ground regularly :( I think aerial vehicles needs a pilot ped to spawn to be able to move I think. It doesn't happen to Luxor and Jet planes and helicopters however. They are flying normally.

 

Any chance you might have an idea to how to make the vehicles spawn properly with their drivers? I have edited gameconfig.ini and increase PedsForVehicles_Base value and PedsForVehicles value however it didn't seem to have any effect.

Hmmmmmmmm. That was a problem, I faced early on in the development of the mod. I fixed it by disabling some scenario planes. I fear you may not have installed my mod properly.When you open the .rar file, inside, you have the original content. There were many updates since then. You have to copy over all files in each update folder. So there is a hierarchy such as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. Make sure you have replaced all content from each folder. By the last update, I believe 1.8, I had the problem nailed. The issue turned out to be a hard-coded limit with peds being 256. I actually tried commissioning CamXXXCore to raise the limit, but after a few weeks trying, he could not solve it. So the game spawns so many peds, that it can't spawn enough peds to fly and drive every vehicle, with so many peds traversing sidewalks, etc.

I do plan to come back to this at a later date. My main rig died, so I am waiting for corona to boil over,  before putting up money to fix it.

Oh :( I'm so sorry :(( I sincerely hope you get your pc fixed up again and ready to run.

At first I thought they are just the tiny updates for the earlier versions but when I compared the file sizes of the scenarios I figured the mod I download wasn't actually at the latest version so I replaced them except the 1.2's pickup.metas. I just checked my own .rar, taking another look.

Here are the steps - 

1.) Open .rar file
2.) Copy files from each folder, following the paths (I named the folders by their directory hierarchies)
3.) Then do the same thing, in order for the update 1.2 to 1.8 folders, and then lastly the Support for Casino DLC folder

Also, I will be back soon enough. The last thing I had been working on is adding peds, props, furniture, outside stuff on backyard  patios, DJs playing with music, peds partying etc. I think I added some in the 1.8  update. There is  a    mansion in Lake Vinewood, and then a pool in the back of an apartment complex near Eclipse/West Vinewood area. Also, there will be a BIG next-level mod coming a few months away, that will blow the roof off. When that happens, I am gonna make  this mod compatible with that one.

I have followed the steps but it didn't work again. Casino's gameconfig crashing my game so I used 1.0.1868.0 gameconfig instead. It's alrighty though, i will wait until the update comes out. Very happy you didn't abandon this wonderful mod and great news of the upcoming mod as well 😺 By the by if I may ask, if it's not difficult or time consuming could you increase ped density in front of the Hollywood movie theater as well? That area is crowded like bee nest in real life haha :D I don't mind though if it's gonna be time consuming or anything :D
