Liberty City ftw.

heres a few reasons why

-While vc is larger but it lacks depth of lc.

there is 3 unique cities which makes it feel bigger than two long island

-Trains. No trains in Vc.

It makes LC feel more immersive as you can ride train both above and underground.

-Better road system. In vc there is water at every turning and you can't swim.

in lc there is more roads and bridges.

-Almost every part of LC is used up during missions.

There's no barren spots like Ocean Beach and Airport which largely remains unused in VC.

-There is a feel of world beyond in LC due to blocked tunnel.

Vc feels isolated small island separated from rest of the world.

If you mean 3D Universe LC, then VC all the way for me, though both are great for different reasons. One thing I do love about LC is the dreading atmosphere, from it's sleazy and unnerving streets to it's underground subway/road tunnels.

On the other hand, VC just has that much more relaxed and glitzy vibe to it.

Vice City definitely has an edge on 3D Liberty City. Liberty is dark. Vice City is sunny and just so well designed. I would absolutely want to visit Vice City if I could.

I'd have to say Vice City & the reasons being...

1)Atmosphere

2)1980's

3)Vehicles

4)Bright Neon Color's

5)Better Map

Yes it's considered the smallest map , but i think it's a lot better then Liberty City & San Andreas simply because the vibe of Vice City & the time period.

Vice City.

I like the 3D era Liberty City, but Vice City just holds a special place in my heart. Whilst a pretty small map it makes up for it with a better variety of interiors.

Liberty City, though specifically the Grand Theft Auto III version. A small map with so much to do, brilliantly designed so you learn all its ins and outs, and with a grimy 1970s aesthetic which calls to mind the best crime movies in film history.

In truth, the version in Grand Theft Auto IV always felt too big, to the point where I could never learn my way around and always felt lost.

For me, it has to be Liberty City. I love me an area full of skyscrapers, lights, and taxis!

Vice City. I think it is a more interesting location with it's amazing pastel colored atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, I love III's rendition of LC with it'a gritty desolated atmosphere, but Vice City just felt more alive and lived in than LC with large decorated interiors like Vice Point Mall and the airport. More interactive places to visit like restaurants and strip clubs.

I love both cities with their equally great atmosphere, however Vice City gets the edge with the city having more depth and things to do.

3D Era: Vice City. It's got a nice calm feeling to it. A place you want to relax in. Lots of bright colors from both the sky and buildings. LC is so busy and industrial. Probably rivals Gotham for most overcast weather.

HD Era: Liberty City... obviously.

Liberty City, both iterations. Vice City is terrible in terms of layout, needs a major overhaul if they give it the HD treatment.

What's wrong with the layout of Vice City? Too much beach?

Yes, and there's too many waterways in general for a game you where you can't swim (not a problem in VCS) and the map is too flat, no underground, what saved it IMO was having a good amount of interiors.

Reminder: If you like both, then don't vote for the poll. Just say both by replying. My opinion, i love both of them. Vice City is exciting and Liberty City is dark but exciting at the same time. :p

- Liberty City: Feels bigger, exploring it is fun, heights, tunnels, trains, better gangs.

- Vice City: Way more green areas, a lot of watery areas, bright, beach, cool interiors.

Each of them has a special feeling which the other one doesn't have.

Hard to choose; but I might slightly tend to Vice City. Liberty City needed some more development, so it should've had more interiors, and every building should've had a roof.

Bump (again 😜).

By now, I guess it's more settled down to tie between the two for me. Liberty City has the better layout, as well as some underground areas and tunnels, and even though it's overall smaller, it actually feels bigger and more of a breathing city than Vice City. But on the other hand, the only accessible interiors apart from those which're available in certain storyline missions (only in LCS, and still too few anyway) are the ammu-nation gun shops, not to mention that most buildings don't have roofs, given the fact that the player isn't meant to reach any air transport.

Liberty City. I'm comparing Vice City to only 3D universe Liberty City since there's no HD universe Vice City (yet, fingers crossed), but Liberty City just feels much better to explore. I never cared too much for the interiors in any 3D universe game so the Vice City interiors didn't do much for me. I dislike the fact that the beach takes up so much of the map. Liberty City just feels bigger and better to explore, and I like the gloomy vibe more than the glamorous vibe Vice City gives off.

As cities, I really don't know which one I like more. I'd rather be in Vice City, but then again, give me Liberty.

This depends. If you're talking about the 3D Universe, which I presume you are given that it's the only one in which we've seen Liberty and Vice in the same universes, then I'd give it to Vice City, just. Liberty City in GTA III gives off a vibe of being a dangerous and gloomy city, and there's nothing wrong with that since it's what it was going for. But it's very dull and grey in many areas, and it can be depressing at times. Vice City seems a lot more colourful and glitzy, and it's climate is much better. It really does look like a tropical location more so than Liberty looks subtropical. Granted Vice City feels a bit smaller given it's large beach and small downtown area, and the lack of trains makes it feel such too. GTA III felt bigger than it actually is thanks to the denser road network and map-spanning subway network. Of course today, both pale in comparison to HD Liberty City which has varying degree of colours, given a sense of diversity that New York City is known for, and it's vast subway network of 26 stops along 8 routes adds to the sense of size. Combine that with denser traffic and road networks, and you have the best rendition of Liberty City so far (which wasn't really that difficult back then).

Vice CIty gets my vote, mainly because only one gang gets hostile at the end and in III you end up hated by nearly all of them *cough* shotgun blasts *cough*

If VC had a bigger rendition, it would be a close call. GTA VC's city just isn't as impressive as Liberty I am afraid. It definitely has the potential, and is made with attention to details, but lacks in size.

It's better than GTA 4's LC though.
