Quinn_flower
im looking for a good monitor to buy. i am planing to buy a 1080ti if i can find one at decent price. but im looking for one that has a good refresh rate and gsync. i was looking into the alienware 25 since i have a aw set up already. but i was told about the dell monitor https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gaming-S2716DGR-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B0149QBOF0that seems good. any recommendations? ty
Audi
I have the 24" version of that monitor actually. I love it especially at that price point, the refresh rate is a huge step up from 60Hz (especially useful in fps games), gsync is nice and 2560x1440 is awesome. My 1060 does alright at that res, a 1080Ti would have zero issues with it.
Quinn_flower
I have 27" Samsung display but no Gsync. So I mean it does it job but it's not a pretty screen. So how is it? Like quality wise?
Audi
Big step up from my 1920x1080 60Hz monitor (still use it as 2nd display). Its kinda bright, and the saturation is a touch high but calibrating the monitor fixes that. Only had it 2 weeks now, so can't comment on longevity yet. Quinn_flower
how is it treating you? im going to buy it this friday. but i heard 250hz is useful for shooters. i play offline games mostly sometimes overwatch or gta. am i still good getting this? ty
Audi
Im in love with the monitor lol Apart from racing games and a few other games, all I play are competitive first person shooters. Having at least a 144Hz refresh rate is pretty essential for that, but you can see the difference in other games too. The main improvement you'll see from a 1080 monitor is the sharper image of the 1440 display. You just can't go back to 1080 after that lol. 240 or 250Hz is even nicer, but the jump from 144hz to 240 is not as much as going 60 to 144. Gsynce is a great feature as well. Quinn_flower
and i know you can overclock it. is it safe to do so?
ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
I have 27" Samsung display but no Gsync. So I mean it does it job but it's not a pretty screen. So how is it? Like quality wise? Instead of buying a monitor unseen, Go to one of your local electronic stores that sell Computers & Monitors and check them out and find one you like and then price compare them on Amazon with the Store Prices and if you find it on Amazon cheaper most stores will price match to give you the amazon price in store and you can walk out of the store with the monitor that day and if they then order it off Amazon. That's what I did with my 27inch AOC Curved Monitor, I went into Best Buy to look at monitors found the one I liked then price compared found it for about $45 cheaper on Amazon and they price matched it for me. Batman Who Laughs
Generally speaking any of the higher end Dell monitors are pretty good these days.

Andreaz1
I've never understood the point of curved monitors but I've never tried one either. Does anyone here have one and if so, what's the appeal?
Guest
The curve looks pretty. I'm using 1x 27" curved and 2x 27" flat. Looking directly at the curved screen it looks no different to my 2 flats. I'm guessing you get a better sense of immersion if you have 3 curved monitors wrapped around your face. Driving games for example look fatalistic with 3 curved monitors next to each other. I have the same monitor posted above your post, all i can say about the curved aspect of it... you dont even notice it is there until you look at it in a photo. And that one have 80cm wide if im not mistaken. Edited March 13, 2018 by HaRdSTyLe_83
Jason
Curved monitors shine if you have a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor, at 16:9 they're a bit pointless unless you're using like a 32" inch monitor at a desk.
