If it's "thanks!" Or "lol $58" or "Nice" You got a decent chance for a sale, ALSO can follow up with "help on sale?"

 

Gotten help just by doing this simple gesture, even got to the end of Act3 this way and new accomplices for future works.

Freemode is rough. It always has been. Thats why R* placed these businesses in Freemode - to make them challenging.

then there are either glitchers or cheaters to make things even worse. And how do you know that all people that make it worse are cheaters or glitchers? There's enough people that are legit that goes after people's cargo because the game tells them or just to be assholes.. There's a lot of glitchers that mind their own business and at least don't go after other peoples cargo just because they know how painful it can be to have a whole sell mission destroyed by idiots..

Or use a fake female voice and a mic and the entire lobby full of 12yo's will be to busy wacking off, Now you got yourself a couple of minutes to sell. Its what most 'female' players online seem to do.

Yes, having crew mates or friends is ideal but not everyone has the exact same playing schedule or the inclination to play strictly towards your needs with their limited free time.

 

Though I agree selling product or cars in a solo lobby kills any challenge and reduces excitement, I definitely see a way to be rational and compromise for the loner/soloists. If a player decides to sell in an invite only lobby, just cut the profits by half compared to a public lobby. That way theres options for everyone and more rewards for the bravest of digital souls (but Id still recommend at least one friend when delivering a full cargo load).

I always sell in a lobby full of people as i find it a fun challenge and not bothered if someone does get me. What are my tactics? Just common sense really. The mini map is your friend, always keep an eye on it, know your surroundings. Check the map right before you sell to see where everyone is. Get familiar with the sale missions and where the end point is likely to be. Use off the radar or ghost organization if need be. Make sure you have plenty of the right ammo. My preferred weapon of choice when selling is mines and sticky bombs. Just go for it and get good. Selling in full lobbies is where all the fun is. The people who lock down friendly rooms, abuse vote kick and passive etc are boring as fook.

The grind is boring regardless of enemy players being present or not. Enemy players just determine if that long boring slog is going to be an even longer more boring slog.

Grinding is not fun, it was never meant to be, alone as well as with friends, as its designed by most developers to test the patience of consumers into giving them more money.

 

If it was something actually fun to do, people would not be rushing off to buy their shark cards now would they? They make the gameplay a mind numbing slog, and then try to incentivize you to give them money to skip that mind numbing slog.

That is always the direct consequence of micro-transactions, developers trying to make player progression boring and a chore to chug through instead of fun.

 

If I spent the past eight hours playing crate fetching simulator, I intend to have results, nothing else is an option. I will not subjugate myself to that slog to come out empty handed.

The whole PvP aspect of this is just a means of trying to frustrate players further, trying to push them ever closer to the micro-transaction menu.

 

So, if you dont enjoy the grind, and you dont enjoy PvP, what do you enjoy about the game? And if you dont enjoy grinding, why do you do it at all?

Maybe you didn't notice, but there is quite a bit of PVE content. Also, before IV, GTA was entirely PVE, so it's hardly surprising that the player base contains a large amount of players who enjoy PVE

 

Why do they grind? Money. I think their point was that grinding is dull however it's done, therefore it's best to get it out of the way with the minimum of fuss so they can do the things they actually like doing.

 

I agree, I've sold in populated, I've sold in solo. Its boring either way. I abandoned having prospects or associates very early on, because they made mistakes that I didn't make. They made the process take longer & incurred expenses that I rarely ever incur. In short, I make more money, faster, by myself.

 

My aim is to get it done as quickly as possible so I can do what I enjoy doing. CM's, racing, practicing tracks, bmx down mountains, stunting with bikes and aircraft.

 

I also kill tryhards and griefers who are bugging people, spawn killing low levels, trawling round in meme mobiles spamming rockets at anything that moves.

 

Having people helping is no guarantee of safety, I've seen plenty of sales wiped out, including those which had full orgs or MC's covering them.

 

You can have all the cover you want, but all it takes is a mediocre pilot in a death beam jet OTR - and your sale is screwed.

If all else fails and I can't find friends to sell in a solo lobby, I join a packed one, reel in some random associates, start sell (ghost), and pray nothing go wrong. Besides if I get attacked I'll just close application and try again. This is just for my bunker since I don't have a mc.

So if given the choice how many would source and sell in public lobbies if invite only would be an option? Would it be over or under 25% that would chose populated public lobbies? My quess is less than 10% would choose an open public lobby to source or sell in.

 

Public lobbies are fun for messing around, but not for serious money making. With the high prices of stuff the choices are serious money making, shark cards, cheating, or going without. I want a lot and have chosen the serious money making route. Time is money so messing around trying find or figure out if a lobby is safe is wasting time. When solo it is fast and easy to deliver cars using a Bob. 80k profit most of time and no randoms to possibly mess with me.

I wouldn't classify being gunned down by trolls in jets as "challenging." When your're driving a delivery vehicle that's designed to put you at a disadvantage, you're pretty much screwed if someone decides to come after you in any weaponized aircraft. The odds of defending yourself and your product from another player only decrease in scenarios where you're being harassed by a bunch of annoying AI with near-perfect aim. Having crew members escort your drivers is great when you have peeps to spare. Sadly, I've helped out with too may ill-fated biker sell missions where everyone had to get behind the wheel of a delivery vehicle. And based on my experiences, you're not always dealing with just one troll. They tend to come out of the woodwork when a sell mission is announced.

 

Rockstar chose to make sell missions "challenging" to the extent that it's so laughably obvious they:

 

1. Are trying to frustrate you until you give up and buy shark cards

2. Don not care what your gameplay experience is like as long as shark card sales are good

 

I'm one of those weirdos who gets cheap thrills from doing biker sell missions solo in full lobbies. I've pulled off plenty of them successfully -- even while being pursued by trolls in jets on a couple of occasions. I'm not super rich, but then I'm also not interested in most of what's available for purchase in the GTA Online economy. So it's not like I'm saving up for anything. I own a buzzard, a yacht, a pfister pink Double-T, a pfister pink Panto, an office and a house in Paleto Bay.

I don’t think you need to worry about the Orbital Strike when doing a sale.

 

I was doing Gunrunning in the Dune where I was to delver 5 crates. I was killed by the orbital but the dune and crates were unscathed. I respawned a few yards away and continued to complete the sale.

 

I like to think the guy was pissed that he spent to much on distracting me for around 10 seconds!

 

The 4 different CEO groups who's sales I ruined with OC shots this week would probably love to hear you say that in person.

My idea of a "challenge" or "excitement" isn't having my $2.2 million dollar inventory that took me two months or more to acquire blown up to bits.

 

If I want a "challenge" or "excitement", there are other less risky ways I can get that.

I'm selling alone just fine. 26 examples of doing sales in populated lobbies. Most of the times you have no encounters at all.

 

Import/Export deliveries are much safer, since they are fast. If you get destroyed, you don't lose much.

 

 

This means you need to defend yourself, and defend your cargo, especially when doing the sale. For this, you need friends. Lots of them. The more friends you have, the more likely someone will be online when you are.

 

Make no mistake. If a competent player wants to destroy your shipment, he WILL do it, no matter how many friends, how many vehicles do you have

I personally never attack shipments, but I know a trick to ruin your sale in passive mode using Bombushka. You can be a God in dogfighting or explosive sniping, but it's all useless against a passive player.

 

 

 

The Hydra can hover, which makes it easy to stay near the much slower-moving convoy, and he can also strike out, and pick off anyone before they get close to the cargo

 

I'm sorry, but this is a terrible advice. Hydra is vulnerable in VTOL. Speed is your defence. If a player decides to catch you by surprise (Akula), you won't have enough time to gain speed to avoid his missles.

 

Here is a real tip to save your product from being destroyed if you are being attacked - create your own crew and invite NO players (be alone in the crew).

Every time you know the product is going to be destroyed, Join Crew members.

You will remain in the same session, but the sale will be over and the product will be placed back into your factory. Will only work with Gunrunning / MC sales.

 

This negotiates the risk and gives you the ability to punish the attacker.

What if my friends don't want to help me sell? 90% of my friends prefer that I sell stuff as a one-man army and still be completely swarmed by douchebags who takes a serious delight in destroying crates, cars, shipments, etc. because they don't care, they do whatever they want, going as far as to unleash Orbital Cannon shots just to feed on pain and misery.

 

And even the "friends" I have end up intentionally destroying my shipments because they think its "fun".

I think the business owner/player should deal with their business as they see fit. Whether that's solo, or with friends. If I don't feel like having some cheating/glitching dickhole(s), with nothing to lose, f*ck with my sh*t, I shouldn't be forced too. Period.

 

Trying to dictate one way or another is not only asinine, but fundamentally moronic. Both R* for the their already bullsh*t, restrictions and hurr de durr griefers, who defend it for their own lulz...FOH. If R* would clean their sh*t up, none of this would be a problem.
