When taken too far it could make their stories cheesy and unoriginal like with V. It seems to work best in a gritty game like IV where all the characters are believably vicious cutthroats and doesn't work so well in V where all the characters are bland stereotypes with little depth. The best writing by Houser is his work on Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, for obvious reasons. I tend to believe the best written Rockstar game is L.A. Noire yet it wasn't written by Houser. The characters are well fleshed out, believable and relatable and the character arcs are amazing. Team Bondi shouldn't have went down the way it did.
