Rockstars Sneaky "25%" Special Cargo event week

Just wanted to vent/see if it's just me.

 

I've filled one medium and one large warehouse this event week and have not received one single special item...

 

I normally regularly receive them before I've even half filled a warehouse.

 

To me special cargo isn't worth the time at all without the special items...given the lucrative event week they'd especially make it worth it...nada has come my way.

 

If others can confirm they've not experienced the same thing I guess I can accept I'm unlucky.

 

I've had way more raids than normal...3 on my large warehouse that totally negates the extra profit.

 

Along with the other sneaky sh*t they do like making it a 40k fee to modify cars rather than 20k when it's "double money" on I/E I think it shows they're really rather mean spirited and think the playerbase are idiots.

They changed how raiding works a while back, there's a chance to get raided now when a warehouse is at least 60% full and they will always raid the most fullest warehouse. Also it's a ten percent chance to get a special item every 48 minutes, it's not dependend on how many normal crates you have been doing.

I collected and sold enough crates to pay off the Neon and its modifications. Was time consuming, but bare in mind that with 3 players and two warehouses, they fill up rather fast. Crates aren't really solo-friendly in terms of time. But still 25% ain't bad

Well my personal experiences have ALWAYS been very different to this event week and to receive zero special items is crazy.

I remember Fun saying there's a 10% chance of you getting the call after every 48 minutes in real time as long as you're playing in freeroam the entire time, you don't have to be doing crates either

The +25% increase isn't even worth the hassle for something as frustrating as Special Cargo, and the bonus is almost negligable when it comes to Bunker sales.

 

They're afraid of casuals being able to afford the overpriced sh*t added in Doomsday. They keep adding these Adversary Modes that will instantly die after their double cash is over, but they refuse to put the bonus on things that are constantly played like VIP missions or Import/Export like they used to.

250 crates collected and 2 special items, I may have missed one I think because I was in Invite-Only after a contact mission and she called me at this point... No raid also.

No raids here, made 83 x 3-crate runs and some 2-crates in between so far. On 29th run I got the Yeti fur, on 67th run the film role. For the Yeti fur, I got a call from assistance after a small sale, the film role I only noticed in the "Buy crates" menu.

 

Assistance is bugged sometimes, once you go and buy crate(s) always - ALWAYS be sure to have a look on the top of the list (Single crate normally) if there's not a special item available.

I've regularly had special items and only ever received them while running crates.

 

But yeah special cargo the money is sh*t...I've put everything into it along with the bunker as normal this event week and it's killed me...one raid wiped out 500k of value as one of the enemies was impossible to find.

 

I've got a different trophy at least now but it's just not worth it...the buy in is enormous given its both time AND money.

Bikers is a bit better if only Coke cash and meth but ultimately the best money making is bunker, VIP work and I/e...no buy in on I/e if you just think of it as 80k and the bunker requires a buy in but the profit is great.

Their stingy 25% bonus on an already stingy mode is measly and as said above they don't offer it on anything touched by the top grinders.

Did 24 singles over one day, really couldn't be bothered anymore, lol. But I got one rare hide too.

 

That took me to a sweet 1400, good enough I thought. But twice since, I've had calls, another hide, and an egg.

I got a special item call just after selling my 1000th crate. I ignored it everytime. Two months after my last crate steal and I still kept getting calls. So as I see it, once you've triggerd the call, it will happen. Some players think if you miss it then it's gone.

I think the only time we've ever gotten more than 25% was 50% on 2016's 24th and 25th of December.

 

And ma, y'all remember a short time after Bikers were released and we were treated to TWO WEEKS of 50% more on product value? That delicious 630K from Coke, yo.

There is no call anymore since months now!, you only see the special crate when you sit on your desk.. so you HAVE to be doing crates to notice it..

Not sure what to believe, but it has been several months since I recieved a phone call for a special item

I've gotten three calls about specials.

I got raided with one _small_ warehouse full, and about 22 crates in the big one.

 

But, I switch session every time the Sell-mission is with a plane, I guess that will screw it up, in regards to special items.

Pretty sure there's a call for special item but nowadays it's easier to miss it because you're either spamming VIP Work or sourcing and exporting almost instantly or you're sitting inside your property or you cancelled the call.

Well I had a 4 hour sesh yesterday lol and two hours Rhys morning...perhaps as people have said it's replacing the one crate option.

I doubt it or it's bugged because when i got the call before, the game showed a text box specifically saying that, and me and my friends rushed to the company to start the mission.. and the last time this happened was like 2-3 dlcs ago.. nowadays the only way to see the special cargo is at your desk, in the 1 box selection, this is true for all my crewmates, i doubt we all have the "bug", phone calls are disabled for us on PC.

I've gotten one special item (with call) in ~75 crate runs (mostly doubles,) it was the film reel. No raids either, but I'm only running two mediums and I sell as soon as the final batch of crates is delivered.

No. I've had one with all 6 for so long without doing crates and you don't even fill up 50% of it. It's 100% safe. Don't forget to sell them before the even tends (unless you're saving for a 50%).

 

Otherwise they can be nice to look at.

I think this is why it always moves special items to the first slots. If you did have normal crates there, it's the 3 (or so?) normal crates at the end that get taken if you fail the raid mission. So I don't believe you can ever lose special items. Although I did once have a special item that refused to go in order, it sat seperate to the rest in the middle.

Filled and sold two large warehouses. Forgot how grueling it was. Don't think I would do it again for a 25% bonus. Did get 1 special item. No raids.
