Welcome to the Smuggler's Run Aircraft Elimination Game

 

 

The object of this is to pick a winner from the different Aircraft added in the Smuggler's Run update in GTA Online.

 

 

The Rules:

● You add one point (+1) to your favorite aircraft and subtract two points (-2) which you can split (-1) (-1) for your least favorite(s).

● It isn't allowed to add and subtract from the same choice in one vote.

● You're only responsible for changing the score to reflect your vote, not the person before you.

● You can vote once per day (every 24 hours). You can do it after 21 hours minimum, but if it becomes a habit it will not be allowed.

● When we are down to the last three, you need to vote after 24 hours. Voting earlier than 24 hours is no longer an option at this point.

● Copy and paste the list from the last person before you. This helps out everyone to see what the scores are and we can prevent disinformation from spreading through the game.

● Do not use multiple accounts, this is not allowed and action will be taken if you are found to be doing this.

● Only vote in these games if you have been a forum member for two weeks at least. If the person above you hasn't been a member for at least two weeks, then you should ignore their vote.

● If the person before you votes wrong (not forgetting to write the correct scores, but doesn't vote as the first rule implies), you shall ignore that vote.

● If you are new to this game do as the regulars do. If you disagree; they are right, and you are wrong. Accept that or leave this thread.

● Please show what you voted for in your post, as a example:

I know there is a lot of hate to the Lazer, so I will no vote, but it was the only plane that I always wanted to buy. The option to call on the beach and jump from my office (Lombank) is priceless and it always at hand goes very well.

 

But the Hunter is awsome.

I've grown to love the Hunter (almost as much as the Akula).

And the Havok is a piece of crap that you can't land except for on the most perfectly balanced surfaces. The amount of times I've decimated myself in a Havok...

Bombushka, way too slow and not enough armor for such a large aircraft, made obsolete by the Avenger

 

P-996 Lazer, I always wanted one, and the best part was it gets added to your Pegasus list. Makes a few contact missions a bit more fun and different, since they are right by a airport and you can drive your pv right to it.

Don't think I have to explain on the Bombuskovf*ckoff, it's Crapversary showed just how sh*t it was. The Avenger at least can (sometimes) tank explosions AND has VTOL!

Lazer's price sucks ass, but I'm voting down the Mogul and Bombushkovf*ckoff first!

Ultralight... first thing to introduce stealth mode. And the most unique of all the Smugglers Run stuff.

(+1) P-996 Lazer. Of course my votes will sooner or later go towards Him - the glorious helicopter. But for now I'll pay my respects to the Lazer. It's expensive, hated by many - but it's also a big piece of GTA Online history.

(-2) Bombushka. It takes less explosive rounds than a Havok ... What is that about? The Avenger kind of outclassed it in every way. No countermeasures - but the guns reach so far you can stay out of the way of homing missiles. When it hasn't got that glitch it can tank a massive amount of damage too. It's basically what the Bombushka should've been.

(Also, why is the Bombushka dropping the same bombs that the little Starling drops? You can't swoop in low to drop them like with that, so they really should be bigger).

There are a lot of aircraft I like from this update and few that I really dislike.

I am judging based on using these OUTSIDE of Smuggling missions where they are buffed or nerfed to levels outside the range of owned ones.

While I like messing about and trying to transport friends in the cargo bay, the Bombushka is just a crappy aircraft overall.

The Molotok is up there as one of my personal favourites just for looks alone. It's a joy to fly and while the Pyro also looks great and is fun to fly, that thing is nowhere near as smooth.

 

I mean, just look at it! It's the perfect mix of beauty and sheer brutality.

 

On a side note- I was going to upvote the Nokota first, but that suffers from some really wonky ground handling.

$6.5 Mil for a paint job. Not to mention the fact it was dripfed DLC for three months (three!) only to end up being something we had in the game since launch. And this was the update that gave us Hangars at Fort Zancudo, making it even more obsolete.

 

The Lazer is fine in the abstract, but as part of new DLC it was Rockstar at their worst. One of their most brazen and low-effort cash grabs yet.

Thanks for the new game Amy. This is going to be tough. These are some of my favorite vehicles ever added. There's only the Bombushka I really shouldn't have bought. I don't hate the Lazer, I dislike the cash grab price point, I'll buy it on sale.

 

My upvotes will also gravitate towards the Hunter, but my Pyro needs a shout out first, love that plane.

I love Lazer, but it's not actually part of update. I give 1 to Rogue.

More of a story than a pitch with this vote

 

 

The Hunter - I love it! I'm not really the aviation expert compared to some regular players here. I gave all the stuff in Smugglers run a try, did the mission with the Hunter, and came away thinking it was a bit meh. Of course what I should have seen through was that it was the mission where you have to bomb the radar posts that was the big pile of horse droppings, not the helicopter. However the Hunter went on sale, and who doesn't want that on show in your private hangar, right? First outing in it me and a buddy dispatched a Hydra that came after us, with ease. Saw the potential immediately and have never looked back. It's like a combination of the best of the savage and the Valkyrie, with better manoeuvreability, better armour and countermeasures. This thing really has all the bases covered. It's my go to vehicle for Freemode preps and VIP work at the moment - although admittedly I don't own an Akula yet.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks the Bombushka is a pile of doggy wotsit. I own a hangar at LSIA, which includes the luxury of a Titan spawning in a nearby hangar. Take out the Bombushka and compare the two, and you'll notice very little difference in design, functionality, etc. It's shoddy implementation, poor to fly, bottoms out unrealistically, has no armour, or any point to it at all, and even Bombushka Run is awful. On the other hand, compare and fly the awesome Volatol which looks unique and stylish and flies really well in comparison.
