Grass on roads

Messed up collision materials.

 

So grass is placed automatically on top of specific surfaces? How can LODLess screw up .col files?

no, its just hairy roads since the game is aging.

So, I've installed Unofficial Patch just to overwrite .col files. It didn't help at all. Same grassy roads

I'm sorry for bumping, but I also checked .col files and materials seem to be fine. I had grass on railtrack4 in lae, however, it was made out of tarmac and railroads, there is no sign of grass there.

 

EDIT: looks like only tarmac is affected by this

Weird, do you have any modified plants.dat? You could try removing it to see if it causes the issue (doubt it though, but it'll never hurt to try).

What did the mod change actually? Cause if the original grass collision has not any grass models, then the material assignment must have been switched somehow

Mod removes LODs from the game. Thats it, AFAIK

I mean something has to change the materials to have grass being rendered on the roads.

 

If you're that determined to have high detailed models though then why not increase their render distance through P2DFX? At least it doesn't render grass on roads then (and offer a nice view of blue hell when entering doors to interiors since those are LOD's only).

I've already reinstalled my SA and use Juniors 'load whole map' script. I just thought getting rid of LOD would be a nice touch, but I guess they'll have to stay
