sassycat Posted January 29, 2018 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Ok, so on the Badlands mission I think I used to be able to recruit the witness instead of killing him but I haven't played for a while so I forgot how to do it. Does anybody remember? I vaguely remember doing something to him and entering a code like 3 times before I could recruit him. Whether or not this interrupts the path-finding so your command to recruit him overrides him running to the car is another thing entirely. You'd also need to clear the area of other enemies so you don't end up targeting the wrong person, and to ensure he doesn't get shot. I always enable that cheat but for some reason you are not able to recruit this guy even if you sneak up on him. I have done it before but it was on accident and I don't remember how I did it now. That sounds like flawed reasoning to me. Being able to recruit a non-homie without the "recruit anyone" cheat sounds very unlikely to me. Rather, I think that you did something plus the "recruit anyone" cheat. You need to experiment more, then, or question if your memory might be false (as in, it is impossible, your memory mixed up things). Edit: I have read the mission script and it says that the witness is (unless he is dead) despawned at the very moment you fail the mission (resulting in a driverless car "driving" down the mountain ), which is unavoidable since it is 100% coupled with the "Mission Failed" text showing up.
