For most of the time, yeah, but only when they find the profit worth the danger, or for being blackmailed. But it just feels weird when CJ just simply obeys The Truth, an old man he met for like two months or something, for suicidal missions that have absolutely nothing to do with his lifestyle nor his goals.

It's also strange that he suddenly buys Zero's RC shop, and just does what he tells him to do.

Can we say it's a f*cking game nothing else? If you think CJ is a dumbass, you can realize that the player controlling him is the dumbass.

CJ doing what he do, and that means the player it's also doing what said to him.

Spoiler

we should talk about the player sick f*ck problem who controlling CJ the puppet and do what said to him, at least sense of humor jesus christ

According to your logic, the player shouldn't continue the story at all once he unlocks The Truth's missions in the desert so that he doesn't be a dumbass.

That's just an ignorant statement to defend CJ's blindly obeying attitude.

You don't make sense at all too, it's the player controlling and playing. I would shut up if GTA SA have Choices feature. but doesn't got sh*t.

All GTA characters are extreme errand boys one way or another which doesn't make sense for any of them when you consider their power. Maybe some more than others. But you're biased af if you think CJ is the odd one.

I believe it’s only odd when it comes to The Truth’s missions in the desert.

I'd see them as a favor for a friend(Just like Niko for Dwayne or Bernie.). Carl seemed to like The Truth for whatever reason(even though he bitched a lot to him)after his initial missions that he HAD to do to pay Tenpenny's debts. Well in the end he benefitted as well by acquiring the Jetpack and 20000$+ the airport generating money after "green goo".

The thing is, player has a lot less options than the character in some cases.

For player, it's either complete a mission or stop playing the story missions. Completing a mission, this way, is by no means a bad choice.

For the character, he can do pretty much whatever. I mean, he can't when Tenpenny blackmails him, but in a lot of other cases (including Zero and later Truth missions), he can.

Because it's cool. Imagine if a hippy drove you to a middle of nowhere, dropped you off by the military base, and told you to steal a 60 mln project? Would you be intrigued? Wouldn't you have that rush of adrenaline and the eagerness to see it, that curiosity to put yourself to an ultimate test?

I wouldn't, but knowing some of the crazy sh*t CJ did in the past I can totally see him going for it.

Same with Claude, Tommy and Niko who deos everything for money, they all make it CLEAR. At least CJ initially does it for the homies, next his main goal is freeing Sweet and on the way helps out new friends and get revenge on those responsible for the family's downfall.

That is not quite how it went. I suggest you play through story campaign again and pay more attention to detail.

After LS Rockstar had to come up with excuses for the player to experience everything new they threw in the series. That's why some things make no sense and some of the dialogue feels weird and rushed. Black Project, for example, is regarded by many fans as an awesome mission, which it is in terms of gameplay (shooting, entering government facilities, stealing a 60.000.000 project), but its premise is really lame.

Nah it's more of because they screaped the beta 4 player system
