Reserve Parachute

Hey guys!

Can't figure why when I exit the game or even switch to one of GTA V characters, my second parachute is lost when I login back to Online character... Is there a way to have 2 chutes without visiting Ammunation every time I get into the game? O_O

Yeah, thats understandable that you have to buy a new one after you have used it, but why does it vaporise every time you leave Online? O_O

iirc I have had a reverse chute after playing a regular parachute gamemode; Halo f.e. if you want to take the fastest one. As long as you don't use him there, you'll keep it with a little extra RP and cash for freeroam. But like I said, iirc, but worth a try

Ah, OK--been wondering about that for a long time, and was too lazy to ask. lol

 

Too bad it's not savable, as it could be handy when jumping from high up--having some free fall in-between chutes can help you quickly get to ground while dodging attackers.

Tbh I thought this was for the first time fixed with sr dlc, then dooms day it broke again? Meaning you are supposed to have it save as a permanent reserve parachute, but as I say it's broke again.

I get that impression too. I'm sure if you already had a parachute, you could pickup another one by entering another aircraft or collecting the one in the hangar / around the map. Bit of a failed feature really and there's no option to "resupply" one via the interaction menu either .

This is correct. When Smuggler's Run was released, entering aircraft supplied you with the primary chute as usual but also supplied the reserve chute. However as of Doomsday Heists the feature disappeared.

Open interaction menu, change 2nd parachute style back and forth, close interaction menu. Voila!

No Need to purchase it again and again.

You can't do that unless you have one purchased - the option is greyed out and you can't do anything back and forth. That suggests you would still need to repurchase the second (reserve chute) every game session, right?

Mind That you purchase a RESERVE parachute at ammunation, instead of a PRIMARY parachute.

It really doesn't.

 

Sometimes the game will show you as having a reserve ("2" in the weapon wheel) when you don't, just to add to the fun.

Then idk what your problem is. Im on PS4 and for me and my ingame friends it works always, 100%, all the time. And we use it a lot.

I must admit, @Gnious seems to be right. On PC at least it seems to work and continually gives you a reserve chute. I only tested it with the Oppressor but I'd assume it would work with any vehicle which gives you a chute.

OK so on Xbox you can (now) have a reserve any time you want, but you have to choose a random other one in the Style menu to make it appear. I've owned all the reserve chutes for years and just owning them never gives you them, you have to choose a different style (before you bail out the aircraft).

 

What's changed is that after selecting a reserve it used to show the "2" but it wasn't actually there when you needed it. Now it is, and I have a new entering-aircraft ritual

Yeah I'd come from a closed game where the reserve was purchased and tested prior, so changing session likely wouldn't have done anything.

 

And yep, just having a second chute can come in handy plenty of times so I'll have to break into that habit too.
