[PC] keyboard macros

Not sure how they would detect use, but is there an official R* view on whether this is cheating? And what do players think?

 

Was thinking for a CMM run it would be convenient to replace M, down, down, enter, down down, enter etc with one key etc to replenish health and body armour. Especially as on the PC you can't leave the interaction menu open and mouse look.

 

If it's not too uncool to use such a thing are there any good guides out there on how to create on or recommended freeware / cheap software?

Their official stance is "it's not supported" but I would bet a grand of my earnings that doing that via something like AutoHotkey or other programs won't ever cause an issue with your account or anything.

 

If being able to press several keys at once or in a certain order within a certain time frame is considered cheating then perhaps having thumb extensions for game controllers should be too (I use them), seeing as there's likely some expensive keyboard or software - which / whom is able to do it much quicker than anyone else and thus get others to think it's cheating.

I've checked out auto-hotkey, thanks. That said we just completed the DD Elite without any such stuff.
