What is this?:

This mod ports the Driver 2 Chicago map to GTA San Andreas along with multiple other facets in order to create a living, breathing world

Man, it looks like a nice idea, but using a real name, or a city for another game? Not so good...

I would suggest to make a new map if you could, but, your work is looking good and stuff, good luck for you, mate.

Company have been defunct, maybe lots of developers have died, none of companies are included that game's photos or details as page. In my opinion driver 2 and also driv3r games can be usable for modding, these games have no family... I think that mod looks great and have very good potential but if its textures replaced by hd ones. That can be great hd remake. Please renew that mods textures and maybe remodel some of important parts on map. Good luck my friend.

this wont have relativities with the GTA universum. The content of this game is also different. I suggest to make it optimal with remaked assets and most important the vehicles in a SA styled way.

I dunno man, I'm too used to Driver's Chicago since you've been putting the idea onto everyone from your old account. You know what would be neat, Watch Dog's Chicago.

And nobody made an effort? I'm sure the same was said about modding GTA before someone came along and made the tools and so forth.

I remember extracting textures not long after the game came out. Not sure how much progress has been made since then.

 

Anyway, seeing as there is some confusion in this thread: You are allowed to convert anything from games that came out before 2005, so that would include Driver 2 and 3. Not WD1 and 2.

 

Also good to see you finally decided to work on this mod, I remember you talking about it 3-4 years ago Jordan

Actually it was to keep sh*tty "HD" mods away from the forum so all that's left are decent projects afaik.

Good work, but this Chicago is very basic, you should see one made in Watch Dogs, that has a better recreation of the area.

I think you can post progress here? Just can't release it. I kinda remember that being a rule for the IV-to-SA conversion or something to that effect (could be wrong though).

I don't care about very deep details, rules are very simple as we can see "If ported models -which are modelled in a game 13 years old game- are contained in your mode that is not a problem for rules on that forum". Keep it up and I am looking forward to seeing results and progress!

Or instead of porting the Watch Dogs map, why not remake the models for this map?

of course, some of the generic models like traffic lights, trees, dustbins etc that will bring more quality to the map's landscape.
