I know for many of you TDM's are dead in GTAO but as one of those who still like to play and test new custom created ones i would really want to see event week like this. What's your opinion on this? Would you participate?

Well, i actually tried out some deathmatch on call. Have to say, that this reminded me Doomsday finale - kind of small map and 11 players are spawning literally anywhere.

Oh and i also finally understand why people are b1tching about bulletproof helmets. Was funny to see the only guy in lobby using it and still getting screwed.

 

Anyway, im down for 2x bonuses in deathmatches.

I don't know if we will get the double cash and rp for deathmatches soon but I am still keeping faith that we get one soon. It was fun and it helped me unlock the tattoos for my female character that year.

That would be nice, but I'm ok with a standard payouts. Deathmatches on new gen are nothing more, but clearly for fun only.

Deathmatches are boring and Adversary modes are basically an expansion

A good and balanced DM is better than most of the Adv. Modes, but they never improved it. The main objective is always kill to win anyway.

What do you mean balanced? The charm of DM is when you bring yours with you. Adversary modes main feature is an equal load out, gear options, which gives equal chances to win either high level and low. Wonder what should be an objective apart from kill streak in DM?

I understand well balanced as playing without basic things which ruin pvp in GTA so no melee, explosives and ewo. Also if you play with people who now how to comunicate (not only rng in murkotown and roofotp rumble) you can trully have more fun then playing some bs adversary mode only because its double $.

I get that newer game modes are generally more fun. But they don't have to give the middle finger to the older ones. Versus Modes would be nice to recieve double money on too.

I agree. A x2 bonus for Deathmatches again would be nice. Personally I think deathmatches need a massive comeback and a x2 event would be a start.

One thing they haven't done or at least not for a very long time is do a double rp, double $ on the entire game. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens at some stage.. then you'd get your double on deathmatches.

I would buy sharcard if they would add options like "melee on/off" change team as you prefer and kick people during playlists .. yeah and new props!

I played a lot of them back in the day. I stopped playing them frequently when the game was ported to PS4 and eventually stopped all together.

 

It wasn't so much the helmets, I mean you can throw one on yourself so it's not really a big deal (being able to disable them would have been nice though..) it was mainly due to people transfering glitched characters from the PS3. People with infinite roll and invisible bodies got really annoying as did people with seemingly infinite snacks/armour. I saw more people cheating on PS4 in deathmatches than I did on PS3.

Other issues were being thrown into crappy custom jobs (which can thankfully be disabled now) rocket spam and first-person view side-to-side spam. Dumb hosts who left all the options the standard didn't help either. Oh, and I almost forgot, Lester spam.

 

I haven't played a single one for like 2 years so I can only imagine how bad they are now with all the new weapons and ammo options.

 

The thing is, they can easily be fixed. All they would have to do is add 2 more toggles to enable/disable Lester & Helmets and have a few options the default, forced weapons, 10 minute time-limit, kill limit off and no mixed camera option would be ideal in my opinion.

Played a few death matches for the first time in a long time. Any time the weapon loadout was owned + pickup it was an absolute sh*t storm of explosives and nothing more. At this point the only way to have an actual skill based match is with forced weapons. Look, I have all the same tools but spamming explosives isnt gratifying, its cheap.

At this point I think these financially outdated yet quite fun game modes need to be at least triple or quadruple money tbh as double money they still suck imo.

I always enjoyed playing "canals" and some of the earlier deathmatches.

True but I hate every single adversary mode but quite enjoy some deathmatches with gunplay.

 

Actually that adversary mode with the Bmxs and trucks was quite amusing.

I miss FaFF's era adv modes, when every thing wasn't neon orange/purple:memomobiles. Whatever the contents I like, I'm more motivated to play them with 2x event. Same for Contact Missions, I like those, but factually its inferior in term of RP/money to what is available in free-roam.

 

Entourage and Extraction are the only adv modes I ever played, I even enjoyed it when I wasn't winning.

 

 

 

PS: I know those are adv modes, but whatever, they're good old contents.

Nobody playing them from those who you mentioned. I haven't seen for year on new gen. Only old school cheap trick left - is start forced DMs by a host and his friends with BP gear against low levels and players on style :lol: Then classic is all the way go with 10 min. of blows and 10 min. of actual fighting.

New weapons rare thing too, not much people it seems, form those who play deathmatches, been bothered to do research. Only game changing thing in compare is thermal BP helm and scope, not explosive rounds in general.

How to fix Deathmatches IMO:

 

- Ammo option in the Inventary menu disabled.

- Disable helmets (as in you can still wear them but they don't work)

- Lester "Reveal players" has a cooldown after being used.

I'd say have an option to remove that reveal player thingy. Also, options to remove bullshark from killstreaks and losing buffs.
