Imponte Deluxo dislike thread

Recommended Posts

Seeing as there is one for the Oppressor, and this thing is almost as abhorrent, I think it deserves its own "hate" thread.

The Imponte "Deluxo" is a small and while not fast, quite agile target. Its weird handling makes it next to impossible to destroy with a homing missile, which would be quite fine if it wasn't for its own damned arsenal of missiles with improved(!) tracking.

It can drive, fly and float (hover), meaning there's nowhere this car can't go, and due to it's size and again, damnable arsenal it makes a better helicopter than almost all helicopters.

Add a 20k Insurance, since why not?

Even worse, this thing is everywhere, I've yet to join an session without two or three flying around. When was the last time someone chased you in a Hunter? I can count my own dust-ups with them on one hand, and that's an months old vehicle. The Deluxo however... I don't have enough digits on my entire body for those, except one.

The Finger.

R* should remove the insurance and the head of the employee who though it needed it in the first place, weaponized vehicles shouldn't cost $20k to destroy.

well, i dont hate them, but they make life in free roam more difficult.

what i do hate is if they are under the map!

i like to destroy them with my akula in a headhunter mission ;)

cause they think they are untouchable ...

They should make the owner pay insurance for anything if that vehicle was used to attack someone beforehand. Screw up and destroy your own car? Pay for it. Use that same car to attack someone minding their own business who in turn attacks you in self defense? You pay for it. Destroy someone minding their own in a deluxo just because it's a deluxo? you pay for it. Edited by SMC-93

Bad sports + insurance for destroying this pile of sh*t is so annoying. Who can ever think that it's a good idea to have bad sport/insurance on weaponized vehicles?

Honestly I feel like if you take away the whole ooh were flying/ooh were diving thing out of the Deluxo/Stromberg's then they aren't really that good of cars; yeah I get the Deluxo is a homage to Back To The Future and whatnot but regardless it just looks pretty sh*tty for a hefty price tag; the Stromberg is the opposite as it looks fairly nice, isn't that expensive but it lacks customization options.

i feel bad when i see people talking sh*t about the deluxo, though i understand they hate it because it's weaponized.

Well, this isn't the kind of thread I would hang around since I love the Deluxo, but yeah, the fact that it has missiles isn't good.

If you ask me, no land vehicle in this game should have homing missiles that can be fired by the driver...But since we had to deal with jets for so long they became a necessity.

If it could be driven without weapons AND without this stupid special blip, it would be on my daily rides list.

But I don't want to be the target of a full lobby just because my car has a big "I'M A TROLL" blip...

So I don't drive it :/

Aggregate Demand

There was this guy coming after me in Piracy Prevention in a Deluxo. I took him out with the Heavy Sniper MK II. Bang! $20,000 down the drain. He respawns and gets a fresh Deluxo delivered to him. I killed him again. Another $20,000 down the drain.

It's so f*cking frustrating. It beggars belief how Rockstar thinks it's a good idea to charge insurance costs for destroying weaponized vehicles, especially during a mission which literally requires you prevent people from attacking your yacht.

I haven't had any problems with the Deluxo or Oppressor, but it's kinda ridiculous that they are weaponized. The flying aspect is awesome enough, no need to go overkill on it.

It's ability to dodge homing missiles is certainly annoying. The fact that it hovers/moves slow enough to be accurate with it's rockets without a lock is also annoying.

dont go and mix both of them, the strombergs is a nice addition to the game, the submarine was just not enough/fun to use and while the stromberg could and should have been a bit faster underwater at least its one of a kind, while the deluxo its just another flying vehicle in the game that dont add nothing new. IMO along with the scuba gear it was the most usefull thing added to the game in the last patch.

(now if only i could spawn it while im in the yatch...)

i dont Hate the deluxo, or any other.. jetpack, oppressor or any other fantasy type of vehicle nor the people that use them, just the fact that you pay insurance for it

My only dislike is it's top speed in flight mode. (88 MPH) Just a little too slow.

I don't do the freemode warrior stuff, so I'm not dealing with the stress/insurance costs. Passive in public lobbies FTW.

don't waste homing missile on deluxo, always use explosive sniper ammo to take down deluxo.

Except explosive sniper isn't really accessible while in a helicopter.

And while you're trying to get close enough to nail that small target with a unguided missile, he simply locks on to you and fires a sure-to-hit missile.

Neither the Oppressor nor the Deluxo would be so damn obnoxious if it wasn't because of their upgraded missiles.

The Vigilante has them too. Meanwhile, the little guy on foot has to make do with the trash-tastic homing launcher. Not only are it's missiles laughably inaccurate, they can easily be outrun in virtually any vehicle in the fifteen minutes it takes for it to actually lock onto a target...

I find them much easier to deal with than Oppressors, since it's a fairly large and slow target in the air. Weirdly, the Khanjali has been the best weapon for me, since it can simply absorb the rockets and blow up a Deluxo in one hit (the railgun's extra velocity really helps here). Helicopters or Thrusters with Chaff have also done well for me.

Additionally, there are a lot of people who just use it to get from A to B, which seems like a good thing, except it makes telling whether any given Deluxo is going to be hostile or not. I actually made a new friend a couple days ago who was cruising around in passive mode specifically because people were constantly trying to blow up his Deluxo because they assumed he was hostile, so it cuts both ways.

As the OP noted, there are quite a lot of them in free mode, I'd guess because you don't need to wade through research like you do with the Oppressor, so you are more likely to run into one that is hostile through sheer numbers.

At least the Vigilante is tied to the ground, and can't suddenly rise to the air, all while dodging missiles themselves, lock-on and fire a missiles and blow the attacking helicopter or plane out of the sky.

"sure-to-hit missile" the hunter wants a word with you

Ok?

That the Hunter can use its countermeasures to protect itself from missiles does in no way justify the almost ridiculous tracking on those missiles. The missile in question is still sure-to-hit, only the Hunter can survive two more by deploying flares, which will make the missile track the flare instead, and "miss" the Hunter.

then by your new definition all missiles are "sure-to-hit"... something

track or not it is a fat, slow target to the hunter and im sure by the time the hunter run out of flares the deluxo is no more

The First Hunter

This thing is basically a rapid firing OP homo launcher with 30 free shots everytime you call it.

It also flies.

Oppressor seems pretty tame in comparison.

Eh no... by THE normal definition something that can't be dodged is sure-to-hit. You can dodge ordinary missiles from other helicopters by tilting the right way etc, you can't against the Deluxos cause its missiles has better tracking.

The only reason they're missing you in the Hunter is:

A) They are tracking something else aka flares.

B) They are not tracking you at all aka chaff.

Meaning if it tracks you it'll hit you 99% of the times (counting unforeseen events).

They need to reduce the amount of missiles on the Deluxo, Oppressor, and Vigilante. No way they should have 30 missiles.

Cutter De Blanc

I can dodge it's missiles in a Starling, but only barely and they're relentless.

I don't think they should have given this vehicle weapons. They overdid it. The Back to the Future car this is based on didn't have f*cking missles in the movie, I don't know what kind of dope these guys at Rockstar are smoking.
