The Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan has died aged just 46.

 

 

The Irish singer was in London for a short recording session when she passed away.

I remember hearing them back in the '90's. Not really what I was into. But, that's pretty terrible to die at that age.

I'm gutted and really shocked hear this. I was only watching some interviews with The Cranberries this week. The Cranberries were always a band I had a soft spot for. Some deaths are more painful than others and this is really one of them.

RIP, shocking news. Way to young to leave this world especially when leaving 3 children behind. She really had a beautiful voice and she did a good job layering the vocals to make each song sound full, she even yodeled on a few songs. I saw she suffered from mental illness, it's a shame it took her life.

Don't know for sure yet if it has something to do with her mental health issues, but obviously a suicide is not to be ignored especially in this business where it is way to common. I was absolutely disgusted at hearin' this news earlier, houghts to her family and kids it is very hard to live trough this. I am not going to pretend I was a fan by any means but the music I heard from this band certainly didn't leave me untouched, Zombie, obviously a major tune I won't ever forget, such a beautiful voice for a tragical tale.

Even in my 90's I was heavily into electronic music, few rock bands like The Cranberries blands our hearts with pure and soft rock songs. Recently I saw a video of Dolores singing with Luciano Pavarotti which is totally amazing:

My favorite of all time, Linger, Hoping my mom will check that one out, her accent a bit less annoying and heavy on that track. Still, many in Ireland are heart broken.

Also in passing, literally...

RIP to Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip, about a year prior to his death, he was diagnosed with a inoperable brain tumor... he knew his time was limited but felt blessed and still encouraged to continue his art with music. We hope it will outlast SEVERAL lifetimes!!
