Is it beneficial to wear body armor in sniper fights?

It depends on the rounds being used against you.

 

Explosive will deplete the entire armor and leave you with just under a quater of health.

 

Standard rounds will deplete the entire armor but health depends on where you were hit.

 

Hollow-Point will deplete health and armor simultaneously so again, it could be a one shot kill depending where you were hit.

I wear armor everywhere I go. I have a macro to quick refill my armor if I get hit by a sniper no matter what type of ammo being used. I don't mess around but It is always a good idea to wear armor in a public lobby.

In PvP it's almost useless, unless you hope to raise a little bit that KD thing.....and there are better tools for that.

I rarely wear it except for in heists.... and possibly if I am doing a CEO work and I really want to avoid dying for some reason or another (but with aimbot NPCs it doesn't seem to help that much). I just can't see the point against other players since everyone is using weaponised vehicles and explosives anyway.

 

I assume the people who wear armour in free roam are those who are really into PvP gunfights and care about winning or losing? Otherwise it seems like a lot of hassle to go to given that you can only hold 10 at at a time and it depletes really quickly.

In free roam the only time I really bother putting armor on is for a little extra insurance on sales missions or when I'm defending against a raid. I also buy it before missions, I figure if it lets me be that much more aggressive or survive a mistake, it makes things smoother and more fun overall so its worth the minor cost.

 

Definitely agree that it isn't worth the trouble of putting on for PvP. If I had a macro, maybe, but I'm on PS4 so that's a non-factor.

Meh. But most of my deaths are by explosives rather than bullets.

Most K/D warriors I see on PS4 are over Rank 100 and prey on lower levels, abusing the health gap. Don't need armor when you have a fraction of your griefer's HP + SH Armor.
