I managed to enable passive mode whilst having a bounty

a few days ago i got a bounty for stealing an npc car. it didnt expire or get claimed by the time i logged off but the next time i loaded into online. i enabled passive mode straight away, forgetting that i had the bounty. after playing for about an hour or so, i disabled passive mode and then it popped up saying i had a bounty, the same one as before. it seems that if you're quick enough you can by-pass it and enable passive mode as soon as you've entered a session

Handy to know op, every few days the first thing I do when I log on, is spawn NPC cars. Sometimes if I have a bounty left over from the night before, people come after me & I need to abandon my car spawning.

 

The rest of the time I don't mind a bounty, it can be fun to screw with hunters.

It takes sometime from few seconds to minutes for bounty being applied in new session. You just have been faster than bounty.

For the OP, I believe you can enable passive when you spawn in your office (not sure about appartments). The bounty only activates when you leave the office or enter the office garage.
