DOUGL4S1
I'll go with the stereotype: Call of Duty, 10 yr-olds screaming into cheap mics saying they engaged in sexual intercourse with everyones mother, and saying that every new FPS game is a 'CoD Ripoff'. OnceAgainYoungFitzpatrick
From the games I have an experience with, the Resident Evil fanbase is pretty toxic. They're impossible to please. Resident Evil 7 finally brings back the horror element that was missing from RE 5 and 6 and people still complain. "It should be third-person! It should be fixed camera! Chris Redfield doesn't look like that! NOT MY REDFIELD! NOT MY RESIDENT EVIL!" And when Capcom continued to support Resident Evil 7 with the two new story DLC's (one of them being free), you'd see a lot of people saying, "No one cares. Resident Evil 7 sucked. Give us the Resident Evil 2 remake!!" Eventually, whenever the remake for RE2 gets released, you'll then inevitably have the fans shouting, "GIVE US THIS (insert random RE game here) REMAKE/REMASTER NOW!"It honestly makes me sick. chronic lumbago
Destiny 2. I never played it (besides the trial version) but I'm sick of the sh*tstorm surrounding it. People preorder the hell out of it, buy season pass before the first dlc even released and still have to let the whole world know how much they hate it. It's their money and they willingly paid for this game and additional content without knowing what they get. I don't see why they should have complaining rights. This goes for most online shooter communities. People get ripped off with every single major shooter release and still swarm gaming forums with their complains. It's their own stupidity for buying before it's even done only because of a shiny new trailer. Destiny is the best example of this mentality. The first DLC lasts 1,5 hours and everyone is mad about it, yet they willingly purchased it before they even knew what it was. I think it's hillarious. Oh and the xbonex crowd treating the console like it's the greatest invention of God himself. All that elitist console wars bullsh*t is horrible and it blows my mind how it's still a thing. Mister Pink
I find the competitive online player that only plays games like FIFA and CoD to be the worst. FIFA and CoD have great fan that are helpful and friendly but they're just very popular now that they attract a large number of casual but very competitive fans that will stop at nothing, just to win even if it resorts to the lowest way of achieving those goals. For example there's the FIFA player that might have his team set up to score goals that result in the player hammering in lots of the exact same goal which is usually a short low cross and a tap-in or some game exploit and then use it over and over gain making the game a grind. Then there's the bad etiquette. Same time of player will watch the replay of every goal and it's the same goal, unspectacular, forgettable, generic and repetitive. Most decent players might watch one or two replays but if they end up hammering you, they'll spare you all the replays. I haven't played CoD much online lately but I remember in my old job the people calling in with FIFA issues and CoD issues were usually brain-dead. I get I was in support and that only the really brain-dead would call when they can't work out how to fix a problem and CoD and FIFA were so popular but yeah..it really coloured my impression of CoD and FIFA fans. Don't get me wrong, I am a FIFA fan myself and will play a CoD story. After thinking about it now, I'll give the hat to FIFA players being the worst fanbase and the growing number of casuals GTA Online has attracted in third place. I'll give CoD fans second because in the CoD and FIFA degenerates seem to go hand in hand. Tech-Noir
GTA Online I have no idea haha it's easy to label a fanbase as toxic just because it has a bunch of little kids in it. But since party chat is so prominent now compared to last generation of gaming, little kids are hardly a problem anymore. So yeah, I'd say GTA has a bunch of twats on it through gameplay, so I'd probably vote that. K0ol-G-R4P and El Penguin Bobo

TheOneLibertonian
Other than the typical CoD, or GTA Online answer, in my own experience, I think the Forza community is mostly pretty bad. Sure there are amazing and great people who respect other racers and race fair, but most people that I have encountered in Leagues and Matchmaking they just do not care about other competitors and just ram the f*ck outta everyone as long as they win. Also I dislike trolling backmarkers who tend to intentionally punt and destroy the leaders' race. Turn 10 should learn a thing or two from GT Sport's multiplayer. Put a rating/sportsmanship system so that proper racers will be separated from those who can't properly drive. Don't get me wrong, I love Forza, but the Online racing is definitely not a good experience. luisniko
Since I play multiple genres and multiple titles, I think it's safe to say that every game inevitably have one. But when the question is "which one is more?", then I must say any game that includes PvP will have more dose.
Sanches
I can't tell which is worse, but i can tell which is definitely bad.First is CSGO. Not talking just about the most infamous nationality, there's assholes everywhere.Playerbase is so soft. Maybe that's game mechanics restrictions, maybe something else, but playing on the same maps for over 10 years (yeah, 1.6 ect) is odd. Game has good maps to offer, but nah, i'll just play dust2. New maps are unbalanced and there's too much distracting elements. Also, too much show-offs in community hub. Every time i open screenshot/artwork section, i see people showing their skins or simply posting anime and half naked girls. Like wtf?Second is gonna be GTAO. I can't understand all that toxic level, why people are so angry there? They're abusing every single feature or glitch just to get kills. And after that they're letting themselves to spam sh1t into the chat. Besides of that, i also can't understand some people who's farming there 24/7. Alone. Is this really that interesting to spend whole day repeating same actions just to buy a car you will never use again? Well, maybe in this case, Rockstar is the one to blame. Also (PC) community hub is the same as CSGO. You'll find a single guy with 500+ friends who gets likes on his pictures and they're getting to the top. It would be ok, but his pictures are f*cking same. Hes just screenshoting his character's face and thats all. You can also find anime and half naked women there. On top of that, there's also panorama views spam. Cmon guys, i've seen this mountain 100 times from different angles, do something new. And just 5% are something that is really worth attention. Third could be MGSV hub. Horny kiddos who abuse game mechanics and using hacks (PC, again). Not once i was basically f*cked in multiplayer fights. 1vs1 or 5vs5. Yeah, im not a noob nor e-sports pro, but i know how to aim. But skills won't always help you when there's a full server of invisible people using one-shot guns. Diversity? No, i just wanna use broken loadouts to bring myself to victory. And use auto aim. Yeah, you can blame game mechanics for this, but that doesn't explain mods and cheats usage and playerbase lazyness. thatstupidbug
Sonic, why? I think this video shows why I'm not a sonic fan, i never played a sonic game before (well, except the first level of sonic 1, while i was trying some emulator) but i recently fell in love with GENERATIONS I wanted to try FORCES, but if everything i've read is true (worse physic, shorter levels, more and more automated sequences, easy bosses, even shorter game time - including challenges) i won't touch it, and i can understand the fanbase reaction a little bit... K0ol-G-R4P
GTA Online is my pick and by a wide margin. By far the worst gaming community I have ever had the displeasure of associating with. It is infested with prepubescent whiny squeaky voiced racist 10 year olds. Runner up is COD for the same reasons. Edited January 6, 2018 by K0ol-G-R4P El Penguin Bobo and Lock n' Stock
Guest
Risk has my vote. Players taking the full 120/90 seconds to make a move. You back stab them and they leave the game. Sometimes crashing the game as they leave. Then you have the pre planned teamers in solo, the most annoying player known to God.
anus
CS 1.6 by far. The 1.6 community is basically like a close knit family that spears anyone trying to be a part of it. Nick1020
Technically all popular multiplayer games have toxicity. GTA Online, PBGU or any popular FPS has it worst. From my experience the worst is gta online, CoD and Overwatch. In Gta online people go to great lengths to get an advantage. Whether if its going under the map, god mode, killing yourself or abusing passive mode its ridiculous. Hell, some people will try to ddos you. Happened to a couple of my friends. Not to mention that Rockstar are more interested in their shark card sales rather than fixing wallbreaches or simple bug fixes for creator. Overwatch is filled with CoD kiddies or man children who think getting gold as lucio or Reinhardt matters. Its even worse in competitive. Blizzard even acknowledged how toxic people are. I speculate its only gonna get worse with the unnecessary changes, buffs and nerfs.
Static
Overwatch is filled with CoD kiddies or man children who think getting gold as lucio or Reinhardt matters. I mean, if your Lucio or Rein is getting golds in kills, objective kills, and damage, it matters in the sense that the DPS isnt doin their job.. But I guess getting golds with auto-aim and hitscan some how matters more.

Sanches
Battlefield 4 community is joining my list. I always play it with hidden chat, because it distracts me with all the "player1 KILLED player2 WITH A KNIFE". But recently i started to play Commander Mode much and i actually had to open chat for a better communication. Well, there's like 95% of random bullsh*tery, 3% of communication between 2 of the players (why can't they go voice chat?) and rest 2% of actual usefull information or commander requests. Usual stuff to see in modern FPS games, but im just suprised how long i didn't see that and i play BF4 since 2016. But one certain thing got my attention. How people judge skill by their k/d. You see, in this game you can play many support roles which won't give you frags, but you'll still get the game's idea. For example, i was looking around forums, i wanted to see if i was the only one who thought that AEK is overpowered rifle. Turned out that many people think so. And i saw a very funny comment under a guy's post complaining about this weapon - "This gun isn't OP and i like it. Fun thing to hear a guy with 1 kd complaining about good weapons". I checked this commentator's profile and turned out that he played just with this OP gun. Meh.
reform
GTA used to have a fantastic fanbase but as it's moved towards being more of a competative multiplayer game its community has unsurprisingly also moved towards being the kind of community just such games attract.
