Heist Payout Calculator - which is most profitable to host?

I put together this spreadsheet to calculate the payout per hour for both the new and old heists. This enables the user to put in their expected completion time for each component and all other important variables - such as difficulty, what other bonuses such as the elite challenge might be achieved etc.

Obviously Doomsday Act III pays the most in total - but you have to do 6 preps and 5 setups, so it's also likely to take you the longest. If you're interested in earning money, what's important is how fast you earn. The link to the Excel based calculator is below. Notes:

  • The "Instructions" sheet tells you how to use it but it should be pretty obvious. Only edit the cells in green, there is one sheet for each heist in the game. The "Summary" sheet ranks the heists in terms of expected income per hour.
  • Default times entered have been approximated using GTA Series Videos Criminal Mastermind runs. The point here is users should enter their own times. Casual players might find it tricky to do it that quickly, but good players can perhaps do some setups a bit quicker as they maybe won't be so worried about the odd accidental death. Note I've included their time spent watching cutscenes - if you skip them there may be some significant savings. Unfortunately if you do Pac Std though you are still forced to hear about Lester Crest's f*@king picnic for the 438th time.
  • This is for the host only - it factors in the setup costs. Obviously the new heists you might get a better cut with only 2 players, but it may take you longer.
  • I've included $ per 20 minutes and $ per 5 minutes. Personally I find that easy to benchmark as I know I can do an I/E high end car every 20 minutes netting 75-80k, and Headhunter in under 5 minutes for 20k.

Some thoughts on the GTA Series Videos benchmark times and payout rates:

  • It may not be a surprise to regular heisters to see Pac Std is still out in front - by a long way too.
  • It looks like the Doomsday Heist Acts are all likely to be between Pac Std and the other original heists in terms of profitability.
  • These were benchmark times for 4 players. One thought in my mind though is if two players can do the Doomsday Heists quickly, that might change the picture a bit.
  • I need to play a bit more to be sure of my own times - but some "flaws" in reading too much into these benchmarks:
  • GTA Series Videos are picking the best location for the Elites. As such they start The Bogdan Problem in Paleto bay which may have substantially slowed their setup time.
  • The Fleeca Job might look a bit better for two players in practice than this because there are some long skip able cut scenes.
  • At current rates, only Pac Std looks like it will beat my Freemode earning rates. However, with more practice on the new Heists that might change, especially if they can be done in good time with two players.

The spreadsheet:

If anyone has the time to fill in and sumarise their personal rates per hour, I'd be interest to know what payouts per hour can be achieved, especially for the new ones.

Interesting file. However one should play the heists for fun, not for grinding. When it comes to money no heist will ever come close to a fraction of the earnings/hour of PACS or I/E+bunker.

Love it, excellent work. :^:

Yet Doomsday, usually Act III, lowers my net. earning for the massive ammount of munition I have to pay for afterwards (and armor) :/:lol:

I assume you calculated for 4 players.

These new heists allow us to do them with only 2 players. For act 3 with a 50/50 split + elite challenge and sale of tank you will be making a pretty penny especially if you are not the one hosting. And its still new and fresh so doesnt feel like a boring af grind just yet.

I'd whole heartedly agree about it being fun. For instance, I myself do Humane Labs quite a bit as personally I think it's one of the most enjoyable co-ops - even though I have better ways to make money. That said, it does interest me to compare what the payouts are like. I agree the other heists are unlikely to supersede Pac Std / I/E etc, however,

The default times are indeed assuming 4 players, as that's how many GTA Series Videos had, which this has been based on (I decided to use a well known third part source on the uploaded sheet mainly to side-step arguing about how bad/feasible my own times are). Hence I've assumed 40% for the host - which generally gives the most even net payout to host and crew if they did all the work together. But obviously, the cut would be higher with only 2 players, but it might take you longer.

This is actually the bit that most interests me - can you get the new heists done quick enough with two players such that it rivals a Pac Std payout. I haven't done enough of the new heists with 2P yet to know if it is feasible for me - it will obviously be different for the skill set of different players.

I'd be interested if anyone wants(/can be bothered) to post their own times per heist and see what's been achieved.

Yeah - first time I tried it before Christmas I was a bit drunk (8 bottles of Heineken to be precise) and my playing skill took a bit of a hit. That excuse aside I got through 8,000 rounds of the mini-gun!

I would guess act 3 with 2 good players can be done in under 3 hours. Last night I did it in under 3:30 but we were also doing a cmm run so we werent exactly rushing through it. We also switched between public and invite about 4 times so that took some time also so yea I would say 2.5-3 hours would be a good estimate in a smooth run.
So it would be 750k + 100k for the tank + 50k for elite challenge =300k each per hour plus the non host gets paid for setups.
Though i am thinking it may be possible to get it done in closer to the 2 hour mark, probably even faster on pc.
