Orbital Cannon - There's a No Cooldown Glitch (PS4)

Was in a PS4 session a few days ago when somebody started spamming orbital strikes: 10 strikes in 2:35 (roughly every 15 seconds). Some of the strikes were as close together as 9 seconds:

 

 

 

We vote kicked the guy in this instance, but a pretty worrying development in general. If only we could have seen such a thing coming...

Honestly, given that damn near everything can be glitched (or has been, since patched), how they thought this was immune, lol.

 

Daft stuff indeed, from those doing this crap, and R* for adding it in the first place really.

It's like R* focused on mod/cheaters activities and added them. Flyings cars with missles, now there here. Orbital cannon same as just blowings people up on PS3. What's next, some kind of antigravity gun. But meh.

I'd post that video on Twitter and tag @RockstarGames. Not that it will make the slightest bit of difference, just to highlight the sheer incompetence of adding the Orbital Cannon into the game to a wider audience than those of us that are aware of the sinful place.

 

Also, the fact that the money making glitch was quickly fixed and money made through it removed but the cool down glitch remains is a shining example of R*s money over gameplay priorities.

Rockstar isnt too worried about this glitch, but the money glitches on the other hand, they have the whole team stop what they're doing to fix it.

 

Im sure they pay overtime just for that.

Rockstar isnt too worried about this glitch, but the money glitches on the other hand, they have the whole team stop what they're doing to fix it.

 

Im sure they pay overtime just for that.

Surprised me it didn't get patched when the snow came again. I keep an eye on The Other Place for any cool clothing glitches, can't believe such a huge sp to mp has survived several tunable updates.

 

I'll be honest, I hate the orbital cannon, it's the ultimate no skill kill. Aimed at, imo, modded and glitched money.

 

In a game full of cheap tactics and try hards, giving players the option to literally buy a kill without ever going outside is a step too far for me.

 

But, having made the abysmal decision to add such a thing, R* really should have QA'd the sh*t out of it. Should have made damn sure the ultimate griefer tool was as protected as possible from glitches.

I think it's really strange they haven't patched it yet but I've seen lately that glitches they usually patch within a day or two have been working for weeks so maybe they don't care that much anymore? They did remove people's money after the glitch where you made money from the orbital cannon and also patched it relatively fast so hard to tell these days.. but adding it to the game was just really unnecessary and shouldnt be there

Not quite. Your money has to be frozen for this glitch to work. Each shot, it'll say you missed your target, and give you an extra shot, but it's an endless cycle. That's what causes the cool down timer bypass. So in all reality, it's free.

Not quite. Your money has to be frozen for this glitch to work. Each shot, it'll say you missed your target, and give you an extra shot, but it's an endless cycle. That's what causes the cool down timer bypass. So in all reality, it's free. people apparently saying that glitch is causing servers to f*ck up atleast on ps4

It takes numerous tries to even get into an online session and even then you move two steps and get instantly kicked out for some various connection issue so it wouldn't surprise me if it is actually causing the servers to mess up.

I think it's a mixture of everything. R* is back from their holiday break, now they will be attempting to patch the glitch, take some money, remove the snow, etc. I've been online on PS4 all day, the worst i've gotten has been the "failed to save" pop ups.

Haven't tried getting on myself but probably a waste of time before the servers are up and working again

Weird how this hasn't been patched quickly yet. I was in a lobby a few days back and people were getting obliterated every few seconds. I left so quick since me and my friends were doing heist preps.

 

Tbh and I agree, the Orbital Cannon is useless and waste of money (just used it once - the free shot from X-Mas - on a friend just for fun lol). Didn't even buy it again when I traded-in my facility to another location.

It doesn't seem to be a true SP to MP glitch, so it's probably harder for them to figure out what's causing it. It seems like the game gets stuck in a cutscene, but lets you keep playing.

It doesn't seem to be a true SP to MP glitch, so it's probably harder for them to figure out what's causing it. It seems like the game gets stuck in a cutscene, but lets you keep playing.

Best solution: remove the orbital cannon altogether and never consider another idea like this ever again.The sp to mp glitch wasn't 'invented' to get free and unlimited access to the orbital cannon in the first place so removing it doesn't patch the glitch but it certainly wouldn't hurt to remove it anyway tho

As long as they refund everyone the $900k to install the thing, I'm all for it.

The orbital cannon works great...bounty on passive abuser then strike them down when they come out. Half the time, they have to leave the lobby otherwise someone might get a point on them in video game. For the kd obssessed the cannon is a nightmare. It can really show how fragile a tryhard is about their kd. I can see how the glitch out is a problem, fret not as the orbital cannon appears tied to anticheat when R* patches the glitch, the player will probably be charged for all his strikes. A billionare account isnt safe from this thing.
