Custom plates missing from LSC + iFruit orders never work

A few days ago, all my custom plates disappeared from the menu at Los Santos Customs. When I make an order via iFruit, including a plate, the notification arrives in-game, but is ignored at LSC. In fact, this is true for any iFruit order - so goodbye painted stock wheels.

 

Does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone found a fix? Unlinking and relinking my PSN account on Social Club didn't help.

AFAIK losing the ability to use custom plates is related to being marked as a duper. You can get a false positive if you have an old custom plate on multiple cars and that plate is no longer in ifruit.

 

Not an expert though. You might have better luck at 7s if it is related to that dupe code. Or in FurryMonkey's iFruit thread, they know it well.

 

I would first try signing out of SC online, and in iFruit, and back in again though.

1) You sold too many dupes or have dirty dupe plates in one of your garages.

 

Or

 

2) If you never duped any cars you must have an old custom plate on one of your cars that you deleted from ifruit.

 

I promise 1 of those 2 is the cause of your issue. R* support will likely send you a generic reply that explains the same thing in a more convoluted way and makes you reset your game settings for no reason.

In fact, almost all of my cars have the same custom plate, which I made on day one of GTA online, and this plate can't even be deleted from iFruit.

 

The problem seems to be that selling a few cars that have this plate triggers the "dupe detection", even though the cars are 100% legit.

What the others have said is correct. I had this issue when Gunrunning released. I have never duped, but I sold too many cars too quickly. There is a thread somewhere that mentions the "Cool Down" period for selling.

 

If I remember correctly, it didn't take more than about a week for my plates to return. Lesson learnt, but frustrating whilst you are waiting. Maybe open a ticket to explain that you were not up to no good. Honest mistake and all that?

Yes, I've first ran into this after the Gunrunning Update. Lost access to my original custom plate, but could still make and use additional ones.

 

It's not an "honest mistake". The game gives me no information whatsoever about these "cool down" periods (other than "only one street car in 48 minutes"). Am I supposed to lose access to my weapon wheel if I use the gun locker more than six times a day? This looks like a typical R* f*ckup: trying to catch cheaters and breaking the game for legitimate players.

I think this just happened to me... I did hit the sell limit twice over last weekend.. Now have no access to custom plates. Re-ordering them through iFruit app does nothing, I get a message that plates are ready, but they do not appear in Los Santos Customs. If they want a daily sell limit fine, but they should not punish people for reaching it.

Update: I got a reply from R* support, it was the copy / paste “verify game files..ext..ext”. Has anyone else lost access to their custom plates due to hitting sell limits? I have never duplicated a vehicle and don’t even know how. All I did was sell common street cars in between missions to supplement income a little.

^ There's no sell limit on street cars, unless you put them in a garage (ie made them a PV) first.

I verified game files and responded to support that the problem still exists. Hopefully my access to custom plates is restored soon.

do you know if theres a fix for 2? thats the exact one im having

I managed to fix a deleted plate on my first character by creating/ordering the same plate for a car on my second, but it was several years ago, and I recall it took several tries.

Hello I seem to have the same problem yesterday I sold some my custom cars which then told me i reached my limit of selling so I went back today sold 10 of my car's same message then I got 5 more cars to sell tomorrow ( I buy the cars fully max the customisation then sell them a day or 2 later since I get bored of them and dislike them easily) I submitted a ticket today how long do I have to wait until I can use my custom plate again as I bought 5 cars needing my plate. I had this plate for years and it's the only 1 I have

You're taking your game down the road of being flagged for vehicle sales. It might already be too late. Don't sell more than 1 car per day for the next week or more.

 

Sucks but this is rockstar throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Damn! I sold my last 4 cars just now but I got no more cars to sell as I be keeping them in the long run I wait and see if they reply to my ticket. I don't understand why it would flag me up I sold a sultan, felon, caracara 6x6, tailgater etc many of the cars are low value

People who need to know how to work around the speedbumps do in fact know.

 

People who just want to play the game and have the odd clear-out get hit and don't even know by what.

 

It's bizarre.

 

The short version is never sell more than 3 cars in any 2 hour period. I think.

Well they got back to me saying I wait 24 hours to sell cars again I haven't checked to see if I can sell cars but I would assume so as yesterday I didn't get the message pop up and the custom plate issue they said that many players are having the same issue and they are trying to fix it but can't say when and then that closed my ticket. I keep checking every day to see I can apply a custom plate if not I submit another ticket

Still got that problem contacted rockstar support still gave me the team is working on a fix answer for 2 months now

Do you keep replying to this ticket constantly in the hope that a more meaningful response will come from a higher up?
The first few people you get through to usually don't have much of a clue so you have to keep responding over and over asking for a satisfactory response. 

 

Also Rockstar Games should only hire people that actually play their game, it's almost worrying how much stuff is "outsourced" these days.

The only way I believe you can get your custom plates back is to wait the natural period of the sell limit (I think it's a week to 10 days currently).

 

If you want to test the last time I lost access to custom plates what I did was made an order for the plate online (which the game will do nothing with) but whilst the order notification is on screen switch to a story mode

character and re-order the plate for their car.

 

The game will process the order so if you then reconnect to your online character and resend the order, the plate should appear back in the list of plates in LSC.

 

Note - I last tested this about 3 years ago so I have no idea if that still works currently since playing other games...

I think the only way to get it back, from multiple times of it happening to me is to wait it out without selling, and yeah it's about 10 days or so.

 

I haven't had mine for months after starting a second character and chopping all my lowriders, muscles, SUVs, sports classics and luxuries onto her character and binning one every 30 hours off my main guy. Doesn't matter to Rockstart I spent 230 million during that time.

 

In about 6 weeks I might actually get it back when I'm finally done.

 

That's why I lose my sh^t with dupers, it's thanks to them the rest of us have to now live like this.

It's bogus that you need to keep pushing, but you might need to. They said back in 2016 that they don't allow any appeals for bans and it wasn't until I spoke to the 5th (?) person that they said they'd do an account review, and finally overturned the ban on the account.

I contact them every week or so I don't want to be rude to them etc but my patience is getting thin now

I know that you used to sell 1 PV every GTA day but then I left GTA at the import/export update and didn't come back until sept 2020 and I was selling my PV after I sold my 2nd car I was confused why I could sell it straight after my 1st one then I was selling away until I got the message then waited the next day then repeat until I couldn't sell more than 3 in 30 hours now I got no cars to sell I'm just waiting until I get my custom plate back so I apply them to my new cars my OCD is getting to me haha

Contact them more often, nothing rude about that, just you making clear you are not amused, as long as you stay friendly eventually this should be 'elevated' to a Tier2 support person wich should actually be helpful.

 

If you wait a week there's a high chance the ticket will already have been closed, you responding again re-opens it again, and that means you go "back to square 1". Always try reply within 24-48hours of their responses so its clear you still have this issue and want it resolved.

Latest response he's the 4th person responding to me now. The thing is I don't see anyone on twitter on rockstar support telling them about this problem at all. Is anyone else  having any luck now on this same situation?

Well I had a lv 3 support agent respond to me with the similar response but strangely I had my plates back for 1 day then I lost them again
