If you could pick only one protagonist, which one would it be

Franklin, I really liked those hood missions. He's just a great banger. I also love when him and Lamar pair up.

Michael, because he's my most used character from the trio.

Michael is my favourite.

I like Franklin but he's not the best character ever.

I didn't like Trevor.

So ... MICHAEL!!!!!!

I'd choose Franklin as the sole protagonist. Due to three protagonist system, he didn't get much attention and gets termed as boring, bland but he would be interesting as a solo protagonist. With Franklin, the gangbanging scene of LS would have got more focus. All the gang warfares, dope peddling, drive-by shootings would have made V more interesting. We had CJ as a gangster character but he was all over the place, managing casinos, all the spy for hire things. So, I pick Franklin.

So you don't want CJ to evolve and progress further in life? Why do you treat him different than other gangsters of the series?

Lol, I'm not jealous of CJ's success, but the success he got by breaking into military bases and stealing alien technology doesn't fits good  in the storyline especially when the protagonist has returned after spending five years, mugging and carjacking people in Liberty City and is trying to save his brother and the gang from the brutal turf wars and crack epidemic, that's all I'm saying.

Well in that case no GTA makes sense. How can one dude kill thousands and get away with it?

The thing is not about killing thousands during the gameplay and missions, I'm talking about the storyline and how much sense it makes according to the protagonist's background and motivations.

But CJ was trained by big smoke. 😀

Also CJ wasn't the typical normal gangster. The 20 minute introduction shows how smoke is afraid of his skills.

Also I take fun missions any day even if they don't make sense. Beats going to point B killing a dude and going back to A for 90+ missions. Mission Design>Story logic

Michael. The central character and easily the most developed protagonist of the 3. It is his relationships wth Franklin, Trevor, Madrazo, FIB that drive the game forward

I'd choose Franklin just because he is the least developed character; in an open world game, the character should be blank, playing as a husband and father feels kind of odd. While I like Trevor, as a solo protogonist he would fit better in a game other than GTA, something like Max Payne or Manhunt. For me GTA is a driving game rather than a fighting game, so Franklin is the most reasonable choice for me.

If I could, Neither of them.

Never liked them, bad developed and story connection is nothing memorable, just a bad Hollywood movie.

Trevor without a doubt. Too bad I chose to kill him in the end

Lester, because he is the geek/nerd in the story and likes assassinating jerks.  Now if only he could get surgery and walk normally. ;)

Michael because he is probably the only protagonist that was developed good and i would of liked to get to know him more in the game

Michael- I would say him because the story of V clearly revolves around him and he is a more 'fresh' taking of a GTA protagonist, being a character who already 'won the game'.

Franklin- A more typical rags to riches GTA protagonist ala CJ or Tommy. The hood missions we're entertaining but if he was the solo protagonist they would have to give him more of a background and more personality to his character.

Trevor- IMO would probably work best as a DLC protagonist, with his countryside-based over the top missions, which are strikingly different from Michael's or Franklin's. I also think he would be too controversial as a solo protagonist.

Michael when I first read game informer and watched the YouTube trailer seemed like a retired criminal forced back into the game due to a bad economy and his families excessive spending should have kept it like that

It’s a rather tough one between Michael and Franklin but Michael. Franklin reminds me a lot of a GTA San Andreas type of guy, which I actually do like, but Michael reminds me more of a GTA 3 or Vice City type of guy, which I like even better! So the answer is Michael! :)

Michael. He's a very interesting character because of his "good and evil" personality and the fact the he has "won the game", something we have never seen before in a GTA protagonist.
