Coming back to GTA online after 3+ years

I used to play this game online for awhile 3+ years ago but stopped after I got a PS4. Just received the PS4 version as a gift from some friends who want to start playing online

 

1. Can I still transfer my ps3 account? Or is that option long gone?

 

2. Is it still basically the same game? I was pre-heists so I know thats a new dynamic. Is it still walk outside and meet tanks and fight jets blowing everything to bits?

 

3. What are the new best grinding options?

 

4. Any other tip or info I should know before starting up again??

1. Long gone.

 

2. With a lot of extra stuff. The basis is the same; the balance of things is very different. Jets are no longer death to an entire session, thanks to the explosive sniper. Helicopters aren't so far off what they were in the beginning, thanks to the glorious Hunter and Akula, and Savage buff, etc. The old tank is a joke. The new tank's decent. There's a lot of goofy vehicles around to watch out for too.

 

3. I/E, with gunrunning bunker in the background. Maybe get in on the heists if you want the new vehicles.

-No, you can't transfer anymore.

-The game has the businesses dynamic, which gave a lot of life to free roam, then you have the usual races, jobs, etc. and lobbies can be super peaceful or pvp heavy, just random, switch sessions until you fit your mood or style of play.

-Search the forums, there are a lot of databases on businesses and such.

Just get ready to be overwhelmed by all that has been added. It is a much different game than you remember.

3. You should get yourself an office from the Dynasty 8 Executive site, a CEO vehicle warehouse via the The office's computer and a bunker (with equipment + staff upgrades) from the Maze Bank Foreclosures site. AKA the important things.

Now instead of 16 persons trying to kill you with Uzi, there're 30 fully loaded and half not on foot. Expect month of surprises.

4) since you were pre heists and are going to be playing with friends, do the original heists first.

 

They are fun, you'll earn good money, rank up fast and unlock trade prices.

 

The rank up fast aspect of heists might particularly surprise you compared to how long it took to raise your level in the old days.

 

Once you've earned enough money, get an office, a bunker and a vehicle warehouse as they have the best free mode earning potential.

I feel its easier to make money now.

Find some good people on here that will grind Pacific Standard with you a few times and then use the money you earn to set up businesses that make money passively. Once they are full just ask on here again if someone will help you sell the stock.

A week at most will see you set up with a sizeable Criminal Empire.

Its not hard to make money/get everything you want in GTA Online even with the extortionate prices, people just like to moan and be anti-social. Find three good people and you cant make money like mad.

1. You can't transfer anymore. You can try to ask support directly, but i bet you'll have no luck with that.

2. Well... No. You'll still gonna get destroyed, but in many other ways.

3. Boring ones.

4. Unless you enjoy or can deal with unfair PvP, stay away from public sessions.

The rank up fast aspect of heists might particularly surprise you compared to how long it took to raise your level in the old days.

 

 

For RP it's faster to grind Crystal Clear Out 3 or Cleaning the Cat House than rely on heists. Went from rank 1 to 80 in about two weeks. Heists are only good for money.

 

And I don't recommend getting a CEO business, bunker, and so on unless you really want some of the new vehicles. If you can afford a business, you're already a millionaire, and a lot of good vehicles are still the same ones from 3 years ago. I bought a bunker because I had the money to spend and I wanted Mark II weapons, but otherwise, I was content with the vehicles I had, which were all last-gen era. Most of the new content isn't worth the price to me.
