The Questioning of intelligence of gta gamers

Have you ever noticed on YouTube, Source: GTA Series Videos. Anytime there's a flying mission regardless of the gta game, you got that one person or a group of people who make it sound like the mission is impossible. Course the shooting and stealing cars is easy but omg I can't fly a helicopter or plane for 5 seconds without effing it up.

My friends nickname me the "Flying instructor" because I told them, before playing gta 5 or gta 4, I had many years of "Virtual flying" experience under my belt. I invited them onto a jet plane and I took them to Mckenzie like a professional pilot.

My friends were amazed. Me on the other hand, I was like oh please, it was nothing.

But then My friends fly, I tell them what to do and when, they aced their flying skills in a few hours.

Then came Transform races, I'll admit, I love Transform as much as the next racing gta fans out there. But then I saw everytime we transform into a plane, I see at least 5-10 times
"so and so" committed suicide, Really? learn how to fly, I understand occasionally you would have a dirty racer who would try to clip a wing, or hit you hard enough for them to explode, but I seen most people fly into stuff whether if he was fatally confused, like misjudging the distance of speed and turning or suicidal

After seeing this, It made me question myself, How smart are gta gamers? They excel in like shooting, driving, stealing cars, but can't fly? thats just sad, only because I've seen only a handful, out of a bunch who actually know what there doing

And I would like to know if you can relate, have you seen anyone who was so bad at flying, you just cant understand how someone is just that stupid in the cockpit of an aircraft.

Yeah it's been proven at least 10 times over that the average gta player is about as intelligent as a startled bunny rabbit.

Just look at your lobby chat when you swap sessions or just look at how many views the 'leak' videos get.

Not every player can do everything. Some are aces in flying, while they're terrible when driving. Some are great at driving but are terrible at flying. Just sounds logical to me.

Some players are better at areas than others. I do however question the intelligence of many people commenting on Rockstars facebook page, sterilizations needs to be done after reading that filth.

Unfortunately this is a game that, in order to be successful, you kinda have to be at least competent at everything. You can't afford any major gaps in skill, or you're going to run into trouble.

I'm not saying you have to be aces at everything, but it pays to be a Jack of all trades in this game.

After finishing air races I have watched many players to crash into buildings, because they don't know how to use the rudder. And by that I mean that they don't use it at all. They just tilt the plane and crash.

It doesn't matter if they are rank 10 or 100+. I think that flight school should be mandatory before you are allowed to fly a plane.

This happens because a lot of ppl don't understand the mechanics of planes and choppers, they used cars all of their lives (gaming of course), so it's kinda hard for them to get to know the vehicles, and sadly a lot of them are lazyes, so there is that.. i know for a fact that if you insist on them to practice, they eventually get good enough, they just don't want to do it, who knows why.. i guess the challenge is not that exciting for them.

Also i know a lot that just dislike being in the air, and like to stay grounded haha.

Unfortunately many people who play this game simply lack common sense. It's kind of shocking, to be honest.

Thats worse than "Not being able to fly a plane or heli." What common sense have you seen people lack?

Intelligence has nothing to do with gameplay. You realize that right? Gameplay is mostly about skills. The way I see it, not everyone is great with everything. Like Rexx mentioned, some are great drivers while others are good at flying.

In racing, for example, people don't just suck at taking corners; they literally don't try to slow down at all.

I did one of the lowrider missions for Lamar, and one guy was trying to shoot up a car to death, even though we were on a time limit and we already finished killing the guys in the one section. Then he shot at us when another person on our team threw a sticky at the car to get him to stop.

During the Pac Standard finale, one guy kept killing himself by shooting his RPG without waiting for other players to get out of the way.

I don't know if those are good examples, but it pisses me off when people can't do simple sh*t and at least follow instructions (not including being bad at racing, but that can be annoying too).

Well... um... I'm not sure how flying fits in. It's just not really a popular skill for GTA players. But I wouldn't EVER, EVER see this as a valid observation questioning the level of intelligence for GTA players. I started a thread in August about this. It opened the floodgates of low-IQ manginas... I won't get into it.

But yeah, dude.... Oh, boy. FLYING? Very very few of the people i've met even really enjoy flying. It's just a little more on the niche side. I have a crew member who EXCELS at using and aiming with gun cameras on aircraft like the Hunter. Me and this guy clear areas and make lobbies leave. It turns the Hunter into a killing machine; from something furious.

If you would really like to pull a Sherlock Holmes here... this doesn't even scratch the surface. Holy sh*t... I wouldn't even call this a BEGINNING of any sort. Not even testing the waters in regards to observing the level of intelligence in players of GTAO. You gotta look at the more abstract things. Getting friended on Social Club - sometimes with a level of enthusiasm - and no one bothers sending you a FR on Steam? It's things like that, that people overlook and never bother thinking about. But even that's nothing in comparison to the other, more obvious things that i'm questioning as to why you haven't noticed them. Mongoloids who spend $750K on the Orbital Autism Cannon, for instance? To claim a $1000 bounty? There's a really good one. What else? Oh yeah, then there's the people who read your crew recruitment page saying something along the lines of "Mature members wanted", then join your crew, and think it's ok to constantly ram into your car just for kicks, or destroy it while you're in the clothing store. Because they can't sit still for more than 30 seconds because of a powerfully severe case of retardation. A lot of console kiddies even on PC. It's pretty disappointing.

Oh here's another awesome one. One of my favourites. [ALL] "Car meet at LS Customs, GUYZZ *DURRR*". Then you sit on top of the IAA building, watching 15-20+ retards scramble together, unable to coordinate getting to one area in one time. For a virtual car meet. With other retards going into Jets to kill the car meet retards who can't get to the car meet because they're too retarded. And not only that, but the retards can't even figure out to go into Passive Mode to solve the problem of not getting killed by the other retards while ...errr? Sort of trying to get to the car meet with the OTHER retards.

Kills me. Every. Single. Time.

Look up the Definition of Intelligence

I can see why some people don't slow down, Testing the vagner, At full speed I went through a tight turn I thought I had to downshift 2 gears to maintain traction in the turn, But other cars yea, You'd feel like you be turning the titianic avoiding an iceberg in other cars if you don't pick the vagner in tight cornered races.

Lamar missions are complete BS. I can't play the mission without somebody dying, even tho the game revolves around people playing with their friends, but playing with 3 other people who lack the knowledge that guns have bullets, which tend to kill people xD

The pac Standard? that sucked.

but yeah, I'll say its safe to say you used some pretty good examples. I'm sure others would beg to differ but you got my word.

Its because the average random is 13. I have seen people young and old fail the hacking in Los Santos connection(find/match the number sequence) and (press a button at the right time to spell a word) on the Pac standard heist.

Piloting is more about practice. Helicopter and planes are pretty easy to fly, but landing takes alittle practice. Jets take practice.

I once saw three people, on PC by the way, all get off their bikes and try to jump off the pac standard last jump. PC, I thought they were the master races. I am pretty sure the heists had been out for months by that time.

Some people are just n00bz forever... I've found that the majority can FLY okay, but aircraft are usually so disposable that a lot never bother to learn how to land them properly. In free roam you can mostly get by with just diving out of your plane when you get where you're going.

For all we know most players don't use inverted aim (Its off by default in noob games like this, these days), that would make flying near impossible on its own.

I think you are wrong on this, occasionally you come accross guys in free roam that are great adversarys no matter how puzzling you make your play. This game requires lots of forward planing if you dont want to get killed for an hour or so (Without killing yourself). Ps most of the guys I've met in the glitching community, especially in give cars to friends or account modding are at genius level iq, but they dont often play freeroam.

I'm pretty good at piloting (in this game, obviously it's way more basic than more complex games), but I'm not great doing stunts with bikes, etc. Everyone just has stuff they can do; stuff they can't do so well.

I don't question someone's intelligence over it. Intelligence can be measured differently anyway. Some of the smartest people in the world probably couldn't play a game to save their life.

^this.

Although I do question the intelligence of people who suck at piloting but try it anyways in heists or missions. That's really not the time to practice landing successfully for the first time, any semi-bright person should know their limitations if they really suck at certain aspects of the game.

Gotta say though, one of my favorite contact missions has us land 3 planes. I haven't played in forever but I used to always grab a Buzzard then go to the airport and watch randoms crash & burn, it's so worth the fail!

Same with the hacking mini-game but there's no chance to practice that in freeroam so I give them time or advice. To me that's more of an IQ test than piloting. Still not gonna judge someone's intelligence though, not over a video game at least.

I question the intelligence of someone trying to judge someone else's intelligence based on their ability to fly a plane in GTA.

Honestly, people not being able to handle a plane as well as they can a car isn't really a matter of smarts. It's a matter of familiarity, and of the skills they have on hand. I'm a master at pretty much anything you give me the controller for, but I've got friends who can't fly, friends who can only drive, know folks who can only shoot.

It's not that I'm some renaissance woman (I am), or that they're idiots, but that it's something they don't do, and have no reason to be good at. I don't look down on people when they can't get things done, I feel bad, and try to help out.

The Smuggler's Run update kind of exemplified that for a lot of people, where players who'd never been capable of handling aircraft were left alienated, unable to complete many of the freemode missions that involved higher level skills than just taking off and landing.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand how to fly in GTA. The controls are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of aeronautics most of the maneuvers will go over a typical gamer’s head. There’s also GTA’s dynamic system & control engineering outlook, which is deftly woven into...
