Facility Strike Teams

I haven't been on the receiving end of an attack, but I've sent some out and so far they are 4 for 4.

I sent the $5000 team out three times and a $2000 team once. Unlike the old Merryweather kill squads or the Mugger they seem to come prepared and won't give up until they are dead. I was able to get good camera angles on one of the attacks and the team showed up in an armored Schafter. In another attack, the target player suicided, and while that got the police attention off his trail the team followed him around for over 5 minutes before getting the kill.

Not sure if you get a refund on a failure (team was killed or target left the lobby).

While not as flashy as the Orbital Canon, the Facility Security Room is $125,000 less to add and a mere 1%, or less, of the cost for each kill. Plus you get another Weapons Locker and free guns (ammo) and sticky bombs every time you enter your Facility.

You can observe the strike with cinematic views, but you have to use the pause menu map to see where potential targets are before ordering the strike. No observing the lobby, like the Orbital Canon has.

I've been on the receiving end and they're not impressive at all. Easy to take down, but just an inconvenience like Mercenaries.

I'm about 1 for 15 now lol I keep trying but from my experience they seem pretty easy to kill. Minor nuisance to the majority of players. I'm also confused as to when they actually attack, I've had times they show up right away and other times I'm waiting around awhile before I finally hear gun shots.

I think Polaris is right, they're a cheaper version of the mercenaries - don't seem to be any better.

Got a message once that someone had sent a strike team after me but I never saw them. Was in a helicopter, but landed outside my facilitie and waited a little while before I went inside. The guy who sent them did however leave the session before I went outside again, maybe because I sent a strike team after him but they didn't kill him either. Only thing I don't remember is if I got a phone or anything saying they failed to take the target..

I think the strike teams sent out should have been on the same level, health-wise, as clones seen in Act 3. Or at least on par with the mercs seen during Headhunter.

What they should have added IMHO was the option to call in air units. So you could send Lazers after players in jets. Maybe not good enough to dispatch a strong pilot, but enough to distract them an keep them busy having to take evasive manoeuvres.

Great idea and f*ck it. Make them strong enough to wipe out a strong pilot.

You know what would be way better then upgraded mercenariness?

A better mugger.

Looking at the game right I wouldn't be surprised if next dlc gives us AAI ufo (the one that spawns in SP over FZ)

Just imagine it - It could abduct a grifer (even when he's inside a vehicle) to a random place on map, with no car, no clothes and compliantly drunk (they could reuse Trevors animations).

They basically work like the police/ambulance you can call from your phone except they have to score a kill in order to leave.

That would be funny as sh*t. It would probably be overpriced and limited to one in-game day use like the orbital cannon. I think that is a much better tool than the orbital cannon because it actually inconveniences them.

I use these guys constantly. Effectiveness is about 50/50. Sometimes it credits the Strike Team with a player kill, wasting 5k. I've noticed if I send a mugger and a Strike Team, when the mugger hits, I cant observe my target anymore.

But yeah, I like to use the TV to watch the lobby and pick a target, and then send a Strike Team, while I creep on them from the comfort of my Mt Gordo Facility

They don't fly around to attack targets but they'll shoot at you from the ground. I start tracking my targets beforehand now, because I'd send a random strike team, only to find the dude bebopping around the sky in a Deluxo. That don't work. :/

Attack team isnt verry hard to beat, they are pretty slow.

I prefer the Orbital Cannon..

How much they charge everyday?

The Orbital Cannon adds an additional $400 on top of the Facility's $550 daily fees.

how about making it like a mugger but better. costs 20k, with some pre requisite room in the facility.

2 npcs spawn near the player you targeted and try to melee them, if they succeed the players screen goes black, they lose 10k if they have it, half goes to you. they then respawn in a random location with a sh*tty civilian cat near them.

So is there any point using these? I mean you gotta go all the way back to your facility before you can order a strike and by the sounds of it they are pretty weak?

I prefer to call the merry weather attackers from my phone... they never get a kill but if you are PvP against someone they provide an annoying distraction, especially if they are on an Oppressor or in an aircraft as it will distract their auto lock on missiles.

I have not tried this yet. You must go to the room with the guns in your facility? or fun mentioned the phone..is this merryweather, I didnt see anything

Had mixed results using them....often I use the option to observe the target and sometimes the strike teams keep coming one car at a time and other times it seems like no cars come at all.

It does seem like it is time based though. If the player isn't killed within a few minutes you get kicked from the observation screen and the attacks stop.

What I've been wondering is if you can use this option on OTR/ghost players to reveal their locations...anyone know?

I've sent merryweather and the Strike Team together. I'm not entirely sure it doesn't send only one group of armed thugs

I admit, I've been trolling lobbies with the strike teams alot recently.

Primarily I send out the free strike team, & despite their low capabilities I'm getting about a 80% success rate on players.

You can send another team out just in a few minutes, & there's some instant cooldown bug to related to using the observe target feature that I haven't fully figured out yet.

It just all depends on the players you send them after & what the players are doing, so there are too many factors to make an accurate determination on their usefulness.

Sending out a level 3 team is a fun way to keep a CEO group occupied during a ground cargo delivery until I get primed to OC them.

* Combine the free strike team with a mugger on lower players or busy players that forget to bank their cash, easy distract/deprive players of money.

Learn to time it right so your mugger aces the player while said player engages the strike team, mugger gets away with their money.

At this point I've screwed around $200,000-$300-000 of none-deposited cash out of players using that combo.

Hit quite a few that just got done freeroam CEO work, like Sightseer.

How did you do that?

I've tried to do the same, when confirming to send the second team out I get notified that it's not possible because mercenaries are already working for me.

Not sure, think I sent one or the other first, the feed said dude was killed by the Strike Team and then Merryweather called to tell me mission successful. Felt like I wasted money

Today I got offered multiple CEO associate opportunities by random CEO bosses over the course of several hours in a lobby that kept up a high player count.

All because I had been sending strike teams out continuously one after another, & some players wanted to hire me to keep doing it but for them/cover for them in their work.

Gotta love these new/lower level CEOs whom try think think outside of the box. lol
