Criminal Mastermind resets for no reason

The Criminal Mastermind awards keep on resetting for no reason. Am I the only one experiencing this? There are some reports about the award being buggy on Rockstar Support but not on GTAforums yet.

 

It really sucks since this is the last achievement I need. The Elitist one unlocked no problem.

Yup,same here. Already happened 3 times to me. Loyalty keeps going, but CMM just resets.

I am in the middle of my 3rd cmm run this week and I have seen it happen a few times.

Do Not do any setups or finales in public lobbies. Always make sure everyone is in the lobby together before starting any missions.

So far I have not had issues doing it like this. Its a pain in the ass switching but its better to be safe than sorry.

I have also seen it reset on a failed mission, so to be safe close the app on all deaths and fails.

Make sure when you start the host is ceo and everyone else is associates.

It seems ok to die during preps so this is not an issue.

**Remember your associates can get free snacks from your assistant so invite your crew to your facility before every mission so they can stock up.

Thanks for the tips above; we always use them!

 

We do the Preps in Solo Public and we didn't die or fail ONCE. For Setups we always launch from an Invite Only Session. The CEO always has EVERYONE in his Organization and Facility before launching a Prep, Setup or Finale.

 

We check the Award after every Prep, Setup and Finale and always double check if the Challenge is still active in the pre-job menu of a Setup and Finale.

 

We all play with at least a 50/10 connection, wired with 0% packet loss and are all from the same country.

 

We don't fail, dashboard, disconnect or die. What the f*ck are we suppose to do differently? Please somebody help me because I'm going insane!

 

PS does Trip Skip matter? I've always wanted to know. We don't do it because better safe than sorry.

 

[We do use the Ambulance shortcut of calling one instead of grabbing it. Does this matter?]

Yes I have completed 2 and half way through the third. In the first couple days we had 3 resets but since following the things I mentioned, thankfully no more issues.

I do not take shortcuts. Idk if it makes a difference but not worth the risk. I also use the ambulance given to us.

Idk man sounds like you are doing everything right.

Is it resetting randomly or after a certain point?

No it always resets at a random point. We had it reset at all three Acts. It's always after a Setup though. This time both of us even joined back into the same lobby while we still were in the same crew and it still reset. So the lobby splitting up after a loading screen also doesn't cause a reset like I thought before.

Doesn't make a difference whether you're in public lobbies or not. Our team have tried the CMM at least four times, all from invite only lobbies and we're still having issues with it resetting just before Act 1 finale. It says 4/29 when we've only completed 3, and we checked it was 0/29 before we even started.

We're not going to bother until this horrendous glitch has been resolved. It's ridiculous that they've not fixed this yet after this long now.

This issue happened to me with the original cmm, my team got the award and I magically didn't.

 

Then it happened to me on the act 3 finale. My partner got cmm and I didn't.

 

I never bothered to put a ticket in as you know how r* is. Also, I still have to pay Lester to call the cops off. It's only labeled free if I call without a wanted level. I get the short end of the stick with this game.

Rockstar leaves this glitch alone but patched the Orbital Cannon money glitch real quick. Ironic huh?

What I thought was weird was failing a setup mission in act I by death and having the challenge reset and then the finale telling us that starting it will reset the challenge. We're like, yo man, we died already so what's the dealio?

If I were you, I'd just wait at least a week or two before doing it as the update just came out and there will be a lot of initial bugs and glitches.

They patched the orbital cannon glitch quicky enough though didn't they? Yet from a player's perspective there are numerous game breaking issues that haven't been fixed for years... so I don't hold out hope they will suddenly fix issues that screw over the players unless they might impact on shark card sales.

 

I would like to try CMM or at least the all in order / loyalty bonuses but no way I'm doing it at the moment. All the preps, set-ups and heists together is way too much time to invest when so many people are experiencing glitches... and you just know R* will not compensate anyone.

Hi Karrecod, the trip skip can be used in the CM challenge. The ambulance shortcut where you call them is fine. It doesnt have an effect on the CM challenge. Indeed. Good point. R* places priority on anything that will ruin their ability to make money. Anything else be damned.

My guess is that its more of a server issue than a bug. R never did anything to stop it happening on the old heists so I dont see them doing anything about it this time around.

 

Well on a positive note..After being part of 3 reset runs in the first couple days, I have since been able to complete cmm 2 twice and cmm3 once.

Remember if you or you team dies, close the game quickly. So I think that you can do the same for this problem.

There are more strange things going on with the heists that could be related:

 

I noticed that when you select 'All from last heist' when you're with 2 or 3, you don't just invite people from your last heist, but it also invites some extra randomers that you played a heist with before.

And when already playing, the game lets in everyone that any of the players have done a heist with before. Of course they can't actually join whilst already playing, but you get the message that that player has left the session.

You still doing it with the same person? Also, at what point of failure do you close the app in order to not reset the challenge?

 

You have to close immediately upon death, the faster everyone closes the better. The point of closing the app is that it stops your progress from saving.
