Keep getting disconnected after a few minutes - help?

I'm getting the error message, "Connection to the session lost due to an unknown network error". I've looked around and can't find any posts on this issue in recent time. Is this a common issue? I'm on an Xbox One with NAT Open. Port Forwarding is enabled on my router/modem. I have a router/modem combination (NOT from Comcast). I've tried restarting the router. Is there a known fix to this? I came back to GTA Online and really want to get back in to it, but I can't stay online for more than 5 minutes...Please help.

I added all of the ports that Rockstar has posted about for port forwarding on my router. I played for about 30 minutes and then I joined a contact mission and disconnected in the mission after about 20 seconds.

Question - When the last time you quit the game did you exit the game completely before turning off your XB1 or did you just simply shut down the console while the game was still running?

 

Reason I asked this is because when you shut down your XB1 with the game still logged on you are putting the game into suspension mode instead of the game shutting down along with the XB1 so when you turn the XB1 back on the XB1 is trying to resume where you left off but it can't because it's trying to go back Online via the port that was used in your previous session which is now closed due to inactivity.

 

So make sure that you do a HARD RESET by pressing and holding the XB1 White Icon on the front of the console to do a HARD SHUTDOWN and then turn the console back on and load the game and you should have no issues going back Online.

 

Just remember in the future to SHUT THE GAME DOWN COMPLETELY just exiting to the Home Screen doesn't shut down the game you need to hold the XB Button on your controller and CLOSE GAME and wait for it to close completely before powering down

I'm 90% sure that this is how I restarted my Xbox - but I'll try again when I get home tonight. Is there any other fix for this? Because like I said I'm pretty sure I already did this.

This is happening to me now. It's happened to me in the past, but never to this extent. Super frustrating because I never changed anything about my internet, but all of a sudden I'm having issues
