Must own Air Vehicles?

With all the new planes, helicopters etc added in the game and such a hefty price tag on each - which ones do you guys think are actually worth owning?

Hunter, Akula and Hydra. You can do pretty much everything with these.

Edit: Oh, and the Buzzard of course. It's a basic necessity.

Hunter has armor and countermeasures (chaff is perfect against oppressors/r2k/deluxos).
Akula has no countermeasures but can go offradar indefinitely.
Both are unique.

When it comes to planes - If you want only one I would say Pyro. Easy to fly, easy to land, has 2 seats and its rly fast. One of best aircrafts from SR. Can easily take out jets.

From DoomsdayHeist?

Deluxo and Avenger MOC

Pyro - It's the best dogfighter in the game, really fast and has hands down the best turning, but it's a bit twitchy if you want to use the guns on it, not to mention it looks cool)

Nokota - it's not extremely practical compared to other planes, but it can hold its own against most enemies. It's drop dead gorgeous though, and the model is nearly a perfect replica of a real life P-51D Mustang, even down to the cockpit. It would be extremely fun to dogfight with just the guns if homing missiles and explosive cannons weren't a thing.

My personal must-have list:

  • Buzzard (for free, quick CEO spawning)
  • Akula (good for sneaking around the session, losing wanted levels, and transporting player-carried CEO/MC cargo... and occasionally revealing yourself briefly to lob some missiles at someone from behind)
  • Hunter if you have friends (it's still be best chopper for direct confrontations)
  • Avenger if you have friends and/or you like bombing (yes, Avenger, not Volatol), or just want a tough aircraft to get you from point A to point B without giving a f*ck to anything short of a jet's death cannon strafe or a guided orbital strike

Jets are.... not in the best position right now. They still eat helicopters and land vehicles, and even explosive sniper users if you dive on them, but if someone else decide to take potshots with an explosive sniper at you, you can be screwed in seconds.

- Akula: for the furtive mode.

- Hunter (with a copilot on the turret.) for confrontation to other player.
- Hydra (fast enough, Vtol mode, explosive canon for.. you know.. well.. you know.)
- Buzzard because it's easy to spawn it and travel with it (better have a friend in the back with a flare gun IMO (just in case.)
- Savage (same, with a friend on the back so "add" countermeasure) this this is a beast and you have all the weapons.
- Rogue, explosive canon but not as hardcore as the hydra, fun to dogfight with, missile and bomb for a fair price, most polyvalent plane.

As in, necessity?

Only the Buzzard is really a necessity(because of the CEO variant), the rest is just not really mandatory.

I would also add the CargoBob for I/E and the either the Akula or Hunter, though I don't see the need in owning both of them.

My first test flight of my Akula in stealth mode? Shot down by an Oppessor lol.

Buzzard, Hydra, and Oppressor.

Since they nerfed the ability to call personal aircraft close by leaving a job, I'm back to the basics. CEO Buzzard, MC President Oppressor, and Pegasus Hydra (and keep a Vigilante in my MOC personal vehicle space ;) ).

Buzzard - anyone should own at least one

Akula - for those special moments

Deluxo - for the joy, it's that cool

For the sheer capability and toughness, the Avenger is a must. For utility, the Akula and its stealth mode. For raw firepower? The Hunter.

I have always been an advocate of the Savage, but with these recent releases it has taken a backseat. The Akula is a faster, stealth Savage, the Hunter deals significantly more damage and can take a beating, and transporting 4 people is much better overall in the Avenger, and more likely to survive.

I will simply reiterate the above.

I personally think the Cargobob is hilarious and quite useful, but I will admit I am easily amused by anything that can break the physics in this game.

The most obvious planes and helis have already been mentioned so I'm going to throw in the Mammoth Thruster here. Apart from being absolutely marvelous, astonishing and incredible it's a personal vehicle so you can spawn it close to you almost anywhere. It's very easy to maneuver and can get you into all those small nooks and crannies on the map where a helicopter can't get you. If you collect crates in CEO this is the flying machine to do it in.

And oh, did I mention it is fabolous?

Buzzard, because you can quite literally spawn it at your feet for free as a CEO

Akula, because instant free notificationless off-radar

Hunter, because hunter, nuff said

Rogue, cheapest and most versatile dogfighter out there, can have bombs, explosive cannons, armor, chaffs or flares and has two seats

Hydra, because VTOL death-beam jumpjet

You really only need a good helicopter, op jet and a easy spawn buzzard

For helicopter I'd recommend: either akula or hunter, hunter have more barrage but akula have off radar but if you fire anything off radar gone, not much difference between both really, not really needed to buy both.

Jet: Hydra. Why? : You don't need hangar, don't need to upgrade, if you are good pilot you can evade missile, exploding unlimited cannon, homing missile, moderately cheap at only 3 mil. But it's weakness is explosive shiper but so do the other jets, so don't worry.(though I'd recommend pyro, ONLY if you have trade price and hangar.)

And of course if you have ceo, buzzard. You dont need to worry about travel time again, but if you dislike freemode activities, buzzard is useless.

Defiantly the Buzzard. It's fast, affordable, carries 4 players, small enough to land almost anywhere, doesn't require a hangar, lets you spawn a VIP/CEO Buzzard next to you for free, has missles that lock-on to vehicles and enemy NPCs, has accurate fast-shooting machineguns that are great for damaging vehicles without destroying them, its always up for discount - what's not to love?

Other good choices are the Hydra, Hunter, Rogue and Cargobob. Everything else is just for fun really, unless you have the money for more.

Is Buzzard discounted right now?

It depends on your ability/desire to own a hanger and a facility really.

Overall:

- the buzzard (should follow my own advice)

- Akula (stealth at the press of a button and can seat 4. i feel it yields more utility than the firepower of the Hunter but honestly love them both)

-Hydra (great jet with vtol capabilities and decent speed)

-Avenger (providing you don't have an MOC)

-pyro/rogue. (Two seater, personal preference really dictates your choice)

-tula (it's a vtol flying boat. Personally love it and it's handy for any issues at sea. It also seats more than the seabreeze and has jato)

But if you don't desire or plan on owning a facility/hanger:

-buzzard

-hydra

-vestra (fast two seater jet-should be 4- that can take off really quickly. I view this as a sort of stand in for the Pyro for fast transport for more than one person)

-dodo (never know when you need water-landing capabilities)

The cargobob is sometimes handy and useful just to have but I don't feel it's a requirement. I know i lucked out and was gifted it for free so I won't complain. Handy thing at times.
