What are you doing to prepare for RDR2?

Curious as to what you guys are doing to prep.

I managed to pick up a ps4 pro a few weeks ago, but not for the 4k picture quality (still running an ancient kuro plasma). I just want to cut down on the loading times for RDR2. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if RDR2 is going to have some other good upgrades for the PS4 Pro owners, as R* and Sony are pretty tight. It'll be interesting to see what they unveil, but as long as I'm significantly cutting down on the loading times by using a Pro, I'll be content. I'll be plugging it in the week RDR2 hits store shelves.

How about you? What are you doing to prepare?

Ill pick up an Xbox One X before release. My work has an awards program that allocates points based off surveys and those points can be redeemed for VISA gift cards usable at only certain locations, one of those locations happen to be GameStop. I dont care much for GameStop but Im all for free stuff

I'm playing RDR 1 again (one of the few games that I play through several times - this is the 4th time). Every time I put my focus on other details and discover new things again and again. Just love this game. I watch as many Western movies and Western series as possible. I read as much about the time period most people think RDR 2 is playing in (somewhere between 1890 & 1906/08) , as possible. I bought an Xbox One X just to play RDR 2 on the release date. I think it'll be released on PC, but i can't wait till they announce it 1 or 2 years after console release :D

Rockstar Vienna

I'm hanging out with a bunch of crazy people in a gaming forum talking about the game.

Nothing special. In truth, i'm concerned about the new RDR due to the new Rockstar Games vision (Online, online, online, microtransactions, microtransactions...)

I'll be playing Redemption again soon, not sure if I'll start a new save and try to get 100% again or play through my old save :) I also wanna watch some good western movies and shows. Any recommendations?

I'm getting a PS4 Pro soon as i can but in protest to no announcement of a PC release I'm gonna make sure to buy the game second hand off someone so it doesn't reflect on the sales. R* should know not to f*ck with PC players. lol.

I believe someone on here recommended The Outlaw Josey Wales which was a really really badass movie i think that might be my favorite now. Also I know for a fact someone on here told me to watch The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. not as much action but pretty good none the less.

Decided to switch to Xbox for RDR2, so I bought a One X. I'm going to replay Revolver and Redemption. I also prepared a concept gang/crew for Red Dead Online.

Hmm I'm not sure. I wanted to wait for a PC release, but since I turned my gaming PC into a BSD workstation I need either a new PC or console anyway.

So now I'm trying to decide between PS4 Pro, Xbox One X or a Gaming PC. Not just for RDR2 but also for what's to come from R* in the future.

I would recommend PS4 pro as it has great 4K graphics and R* is partnered with sony so we will be seeing all there future games exclusive for PS systems only, basically meaning we will be getting content before xbox gets it.

Note the Pro and the One X aren’t exactly on a fair playing field. There’s really no comparison in the graphical power of the X compared the Pro.

I never compared the two, I only said that it has great 4K graphics at the same time sony supports R* games making all future games content first for all PS systems... ps4 pro defiantly wins in my book as the graphics are still great while containing more games than Xbox.

Some great responses in here! Man I can't wait for this game to drop. So excited!! Can't wait to see what R* does to push the boundaries and exceed expectations this round. :)

I'm also slightly considering getting an online connection for the first time on a game. I'm really anti-online, so it would be a huge step for me to take, but for this... I may make an exception. I dunno. We'll see... Still in an internal debate about it.

I also was playing RDR, but it's so outdated, especially compared to content filled games such as Witcher 3 that I'm also playing, that I haven't made it out of Mexico, yet. I'll probably finish rocking it the week prior to release.

Much appreciate the tv show suggestions! Something I'll have to look into. ;)

You’re right, you didn’t compare them, I didn’t see anyone say that you did?. I was just stating that out of the consoles Cryporelic asked about, the X is the more powerful graphically one and that there’s no comparison between the two. Facts are facts

The Xbox One X's power advantage over the PS4 Pro means nothing if devs don't take advantage of it, though. That's what people are saying with regards to the Sony deal, Sony aren't going to be too happy if a game they paid Rockstar to market on their systems looks and/or runs better on the One X. Console parity and developers purposefully limiting performance on the more powerful console has been a thing for ages now.

Yeah, you can't really compare the two honestly. One has decent games, the other doesn't
