Why we pay for playing Doomsday Heist?

Setup costs...Which doesn't make any sense with these new heists since we steal the itens for preparations ourselves, but hey, they gotta sell those cash cards...

120k for act 3.

Just the same as before, buy a place, invest in a heist.

Where'd you get 1.2m from?.

Saw another one saying he paid $700K in setups.. Might come close to that if you pay to skip freeroam prep missions?

Just saw the thread I believe you mean.

Yeah, that'll soon mount up paying to skip the gameplay. Crazy stuff really.

But how people choose 'pay to skip', and then are confused as to why they don't earn good here, I mean its right there...

PAY to skip.

In reality, you shouldn't have to pay anything for the heists.

1. As someone pointed out, you do a lot of the prep-work yourself.

2. You're working for a multi-billionaire, and then the government. They should foot the costs.

It stings more considering the payouts from the heists are still too low.

I actually didn't think it would cost that much to skip the freeroam preps that is crazy, as you said it's really not much money to be made.. And the prep missions in act 3 was relatively fast and easy to do also

I was probably a bit quick to comment on the 15% in the other thread but I still think it sounds strange to say you're willing to pay what is default..

The choice is there partly to hoodwink players, or as those get frustrated and so on, namely card sales too, IMO. But the discounts are key for some that those are the targets and rewards they seek.

IMO, the game makes it clear if you do choose to skip, I'm a 20% man myself, I get it's a topic that could go on with many having their opinion of the right price, but that's me. I think it's fair, of course, on the old heists it is without fail as to knowing how much the host did invest, as here, we just have no clues.

Griefers want toys, I'll help unlock stuff as i enjoy the gameplay and when with players that are keen to get stuff done, I earn well, but they pay the same as a player actually playing these for profit too.

Worth every bloody penny imo.

You can do them in private "public" lobbies, though. Except for the Deluxo one (which can be Cargobob'ed) and the Stromberg one they're all pretty quick and fairly easy to solo.

Some are faster than average "get supplies for business/bunker" missions.

Paywalls = shark cards.

Another example is either having to steal prep items in the hell that is public lobbies, with all sorts of griefing machines and orbital strikes amok, or to pay 100k for them.

Player realizes that it's gonna be a pain the ass and waste of time to steal prep items in a public session, so he/she refuses to take the risk and instead buys a quick shark card.

Profit for Rockstar.

I have done all the prep stuff in solo public , so there is that option for those that want to partake in it.

Not every one knows the MTU method, and it doesn't work for all. Some have said that it can't be done on PC.

Plus, players can still join your solo public session and possibly vaporize you with the orbital cannon.

Its rare that people join when the MTU set to 700, and if they do, switch session and start over, no biggie you know.

Please understand, I was not disagreeing with you , R* did that on purpose to , well you know, I was simply pointing out that they can be done in MTU lobbies.

I did all the prep work in MTU as well. I was simply pointing out that not everyone knows about this MTU method. Think about those who don't navigate the forums or watch many GTA 5 videos. They don't even know such a thing exists, so they're pretty much left with no option. They either take the risk in public lobbies or pay up. 100k is quite a lot for some prep items.

I've never tried 700 before. I always use 850. I'll try it the next time I get on.

lol, that is why I said "I agree with you"

Using 700 can take some time to load in, and sometimes wont work the first time, FYI

^ Wifi and a supercar tends to do it for me guys, lol. The occasional Netflix documentary while I plod can all but seal the deal... ;)

@ gtafan26... Yep, the Deluxo prep I think was the only one where a buddy is ideal, but with a Cargobob, a doddle (I'm in the dam).

@ Arrows to Athens... The amount of players I mentioned the upcoming DLC to leading in was noticeable at times too. Some, like you said, know only what they see/learn in-game, nothing more. To tell a noob that's being given a real hard time how to 'go it alone' and then get that message thet it worked and they're delighted to be at peace is pretty cool too.

Knowing it's one less and all... Lol. I joke, I'm more keen to see real fans of this game just bloody enjoy it really, as if and when we do team up, all win.

Yeah, I don't get it.

This Multi-billionaire is COMING TO ME and asking me to do HIM a favor. You'd think he'd foot the bill for it. They don't even explain why I have to pony up the cash, just because this is how we've done it before?

Motherf*cker, you're asking ME to do YOU a favor

You're paying for making the contact and being the person to do it.

'but he needs me, blah blah blah'

Yep... and he could get 4 other silent goons to do it. you're paying so Lester will put you forward as the better silent goon.

Quibble all you want about it, yes it's R* nickle and diming you the same as the other Heists and don't be like 'doesnt make sense, conflicts with the story....where's the logic?'

Do you see any semblance of coherent story, logic or sense in GTA:Online?

Almost as good as people whinging/whining about games being unrealistic because a gun has a foregrip on it, which it never did. Meanwhile, no complaints about dying 50 times and being resurrected by a NEEDLE UP THE ASS!

I don't think the logic is wrong at all.

A Vendor at a Festival will pay the organiser for a pitch in the hope that he sells enough product to make a profit?

Is this not the same thing? I just see it as an investment.

I personally won't be skipping any prep mission. I'll judge my lobby on its activity, if everyone is busy doing their own thing I'll go for it.

I can count on one hand the amount of times someone has come after me when I'm selling product, be in I/E, GR or EaOC

Everyone seems to be too busy doing their own thing now a days to care.

Set up costs make perfect sense to me. The government is paying the hiest leader upon completion, you're paying your associates. I run my own business and I would kill to be able make the kind of returns I make in gta.

With all due respect bro, it ain't $1.2million to replay.

The setup cost is $120,000 to replay The Doomsday Scenario.

Check your facts before you decide to start a B&M thread.

Also, this should defo be in the B&M thread... or if there were a "misinformation thread", this would go in quite nicely.

Also also, nobody forced you to pay $650k in heist setups. If you're daft enough to pay it, that's entirely on you. Don't go whining about how much it costs when you were clearly willing to pay.
