ThingsThat Would Be Cool If They Were in GTA 4, TLAD, or TBoGT

I made a thread similar to this in the GTA 5 section. Of course, no game is perfect, not even great games like GTA 4, The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Here is a list of things of which I personally think would've been cool if they were in these games but unfortunately aren't.

1. I know that the games were made in April 2008. I honestly believe it would've been A LOT less confusing if they were still all made the same time but if, say GTA TLAD took place in March, GTA 4 still took place in April, and GTA TBoGT took place in May, all in 2008. That way, you could say that while they're all the same year in Liberty City, they all take place in different months rather than all at the same time.

2. With the above being said, Jim Fitzgerald and Jason Michaels still being alive in order to take out Billy Grey at the end of the game, alongside Johnny Klebitz, Clay Simons, and Terry Thorpe (prior to being killed by Niko of course). And of course, them helping Johnny kill Brian Jeremy.

3. If Johnny, Angus, Clay, and Terry (along with Jim and Jason) actually kept The Lost clubhouse at the end of TLAD. That way, you can still use it as a safehouse.

4. A third alternate ending where both Roman and Kate are spared and instead, Karen dies. This would definitely be a MUCH more action packed and thrilling two-part ending to the game. Basically, Niko sends a big F you to the IAA (akin to the one you do the FIB and Merryweather in GTA 5's choice C) in the first part after he and Roman get married THEN going on to kill both Dimitri Rascalov and Jimmy Pegorino. If this were the case, perhaps Karen and United Liberty Contact probably wouldn't have made their crappy cameos in GTA 5.

5. If there was a mission after the final mission of all three games where Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, and Luis Fernando Lopez get to team up with Clay Simons and Terry Thorpe in order to take out some hippies in Liberty City Park as the hippies are messing with The Lost MC. This would be rather interesting, in my honest opinion.

What are some things that YOU GUYS think would've been cool if they were in these games?

Rockstar loves removing stuff we liked from previous gtas or cutting it because even though it gets positive feed back they take that as we hate it. I would of liked to have kept the clubhouse but rockstar decided to add in destroying it for no reason if im the lost chapter leader i need some where to regulate from im president and only have a torn up apartment they tried to destroy tlad asap as soon as billy goes to jail

For the TBOGT they should of let us have the option to hangout with yusuf by the end of the game because he played a major role in tbogt and we keep him in our contacts at the end of the game and only get one phonecall and never hear from him again why not just delete his contact like they did tony for no reason we get to hang out with little jacob they should let us hangout with yusuf those car ride dialogs and drinking would have been hilarious

Another thing that I completely forgot about! I know Rockstar is very anal retentive when it comes to copyright but I think a t-shirt store where Niko, Johnny, or Luis can buy t-shirts would've been a good idea as well! Also the ability to go into your closet of course and switch from one t-shirt to the other. For example, I think Niko, Johnny, and Luis would all look pretty snazzy wearing a t-shirt of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Kiss, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Happy Tree Friends, or Jack Daniels. Rockstar COULD come up with a creative name for them like AB/CD, Happy Forest Buddies, etc.

Algonquin Assassin

A third DLC with Packie as the protagonist. I think someone had a concept for it called "Blood And A Four Leaf Clover" a few years back if I remember.

- A silenced pistol for Niko.

- Fingerless gloves for Niko.

- More taxi missions.

- Ability to store mobile phone photographs.

- A stadium like the Madison Square Garden.

- A proper tuxedo for Luis.

- Interiors for iconic buildings. It would be fun to get into the GTA equivalent of the UN Headquarters, the Hearst Tower or the Grand Central Station.

All EFLC content in the base game.

Most if not all V weapons.

More clothes for Niko.

A techno/trance/drum and bass/experimental electronica radio station.

I guess that's all I'd love in IV to make it an even better game :)

Thanks for spoiling the game

C'mon man...

I like to be cautious about spoilers for people who haven't played the game yet, but why would you go through a forum for a game you don't know the story ending for yet?

Thanks for spoiling the game

Sorry bud, the game has been out for 9, almost 10 years AND as Petey said, you're browsing a forum in which 90% of the users have completed the related topic (being GTA IV).

As for the topic of this thread, I reckon some of the activities could have been spread across all 3 games, like the fight club which I think someone like Johnny would fit pretty well in that type of environment or some of the more chilled out stuff like air hockey would be better for friend activities in IV.

Customisation for vehicles would have been cool too, for example being able to chuck a couple of mods on Johnny's bike or armouring up vehicles for the stupid drive 'n' shoot missions, pretty much what they did in V.

A better PC port would have also been nice.

More map. Rockstar said they omitted Staten Island because it's all residential and that it wouldn't be interesting to recreate or play in...but fu*k that, those sorts of areas are brimming with potential and add to the "living city" illusion.

Bikes, planes, tanks, countrysides, maybe jetpack. Ability to dive would be nice too. But at least Niko can swim and not dying instantly like Tommy.

NIKO, Y U NO USE SEATBELT???

That's... awkward.

I wish there was FPS camera mode.

As I said the other day I’m not a fan of mission exclusive features. The parking platforms for example would be a great way of storing more vehicles.

GTA IV

  • A silenced pistol. It would've went fine with Niko's hitman lifestyle.
  • A safehouse in Dukes. Personally, I could see Niko living in Steinway.
  • Staten Island.
  • Niko's phone camera actually serving a purpose in free roam.

TLaD

  • More missions. I'm not asking for SA's amount, but you know.
  • Clothes. I think a biker clothing store would've been suitable enough.
  • Malc as a friend to hang out with.
  • Add the cage fighting club.

The content from whatever other game or DLC you have being available in whatever other DLC or game you have - not just the radio station songs. Peds, vehicles, weapons, map updates etc.

The countryside that was planned for the game back when the map was called "Liberty State."

I also hoped that one day somebody would make a mod that would port over GTA IV and TLAD's missions to TBoGT, and set up the mission tree structure based on "The Possible Trinity" mission order, while also making use of the character switch mod for IV. That'd be nice.

I see why you'd like that but imo the features of each game being unique to that game is what makes the three of them distinguished. As they are, we have three different tastes of Liberty City that combine into one epic tale. Allowing for all three games's activities to be available across all three would imo rob each of them of their individuality.

I agree some countryside would add to the immersion, I would've rather had more housing in Dukes or a recreation of Staten.

These Possible Trinity playthroughs, I was wondering how players go about that major cock-up in the mission structure around Three Leaf Clover, This sh*ts Cursed and Chinese Takeout. As a result of this I just play each game in blocks during my playthroughs, such as playing IV until killing Jason, then switching to TLAD to catch up, and so on.

Roman goes to Maisonette 9 in TBOGT with Brucie, i wish they implement they clubs into the main game; so instead of playing bowling we could have some chicks with Roman in IV.

Yeah, there are some plot holes formed with the story. Obviously things are a little screwed up since TBoGT went through some changes. But for missions like Three Leaf Clover you could have it play up to a certain point before switching over to Luis - like after you lose the cops. Or the missions where protagonists crossover like the impossible trinity, have it play up to a certain point and then force a switch - or whoever you start the respectable mission as you'll play their version up to a certain point - like in Bury the Hatchet. Obviously some changes would have to be made to certain mission designs, but the big picture would be playing the entire package in one go - and as a design choice, it could make sense to limit DLC weapons and activities to Johnny and Luis to emphasize the "different character, different life" idea.

I say garages have to be my main problem. It felt like it was too easy to loose your car with the type of parking system they had in the game. Garages would of been more secure. Another thing related to cars is the ability to customize your car. Make it unique. The game still delivered great fun and I love it for what it is, but theres always some small feature that could've been involved in the game.

Mission variation.

GTA IV, you feel you are doing the same mission over and over with only an increasing difficulty.
