Hidden Package on Lift Bridge

Recommended Posts

According to the GTA Wikia, It's possible to collect all Hidden Packages before the first mission by using various exploits or tricks to reach the unlocked islands. I've already managed to jump the hole left in the Callahan Bridge and made it to Staunton Island.

Well, one package in particular is on the Lift Bridge and can only be reached when the bridge is raised, and the bridge only raises when Shoreside Vale is unlocked. I'm assuming this was just an oversight and the editor simply forgot this hidden package cannot be exploited, or is there another way?

On another note, I've read previous tutorials for missions which mention collecting all hidden packages and using the rocket launcher.

You can collect the Hidden Package on the Lift Bridge by flying the Dodo. There's multiple approaches that you can take but the way I prefer is to fly up to, and land on, the raised platform from the side of the Lift Bridge as shown in

(at 50:00).

If you've never flown the Dodo before, you might find it difficult at first to get used to the handling and consider it impossible but once you've practiced flying it, you'll find it becomes much simpler. I'd recommend checking out some videos like this one beforehand:

Some time ago I made a video where I show exactly how to do it:

For the life of me, I could never do this the way it's been shown in Videos for years.  However, I adopted my OWN Method on how to get the Hidden Package in the Starter Save.  I still use the Dodo and such, but my "Flight Time" in the Stats reads less than 4 Seconds.  In other words, you don't have to learn how to fly it at all in order to get this Hidden Package.  Furthermore, you don't even have to fly the Dodo back to Portland for Import/Export, either.  You can just pop the Dodo over the gap in the Callahan Bridge and drive it the rest of the way, lol...

Are you going to harass me everytime I advise a mod to someone? 12.gif

I think everybody has the right to know all the available methods before choosing, is it too hard to understand for you?

Names one.  Recommends Mods.  Somehow comes to conclusion has given all Methods.  Logic?

And just cuz someone is on PC doesn't mean they will be using Mods, so like, can't you recommend any other type of Method?  Is that too hard to understand for you?

I never meant I recommended all the existing methods in my post, I just offered one more solution but maybe are you too limited to understand it?

The PC offers the possibility to use mods and I'm not telepath so I offer this solution if the person is interested. It's that simple but maybe too complicated for you.

But let me ask you this.  What does being telepathic have anything to do with having knowledge about the game?  I think people are well aware that if they don't want to do any work, they can use Trainers and such to teleport them to Hidden Packages or use Helicopters in which don't exist in normal gameplay without the use of Mods to get them to Hidden Packages and such without having to ***learn about the game and discover new things*** which to some, is the one reason they are playing GTA.

Instead, to be even easier, f*ck even doing the Hidden Packages, right?  Just download a 100% Save off the Web and go crazy, install tons of mods, play in the sandbox.  Ya know?

Like I wrote I can't know if the person is interested by mods or not so I offer this solution.

What's your problem with it? GTA 3 is a SOLO game, what the other players do in their party doesn't have any repercussion on yours.

The players don't always want to cope with the means the game offers, otherwise none would create mods by the way.

There are times when I prefer reaching my goal by playing without cheats and other times when I prefer to use cheats and I suppose it applies to everybody.

Yes, I agree that you can bring the Dodo to the I/E garage in the beginning of the game without the need to fly. It's possible but it's just way too slow. About the obtaining of this hidden package - I've tried many times to do it without an actual flight but I didn't manage to do it. Also if the thing from the video that confuses you is my way of gaining height by looping the Dodo - it's not necessary to do it this way, it's just faster. I remember that someone in the comment section also asked me how to do it.

@Evil empire I agree with @Lethal Vaccine to some extend because I very often see you suggesting the use of cheats/trainers or some kind of mods to the people in the help section which is something that probably should be last resort (of course it's just my opinion). When someone is asking for help with some issue and they don't explicitly mention that they want to cheat you should try to give a legit advice.

After a bit of practice - say 40+ flights or so, it can really be done with the dodo. Took me many tries, I first flew a few seconds, then managed to stay in the air a little longer - 20-30 seconds or so - and then one glorious day, I tapped the Num6 key so gently that the dodo dove and rose again for 72 seconds and landed perfectly on the lift bridge without crashing 😮 Take of the day: package # 100 AND completion of the Portland import/export garage with SI and SSV still officially locked...

Of course a bit of luck since it was clear weather and daylight, but hey, I'll take it! 😛

I think I was the one commenting on your video. Well, I did that almost a year ago, in the end! Like 6 days after the comment or something. I just tapped the Nose Down button as many times as possible, and the Dodo went even higher than the bridge. When I reached that upper lifted portion, I just violently pressed the Nose Down button and landed there and took the package.

Here is my opinion on all of this: I personally never done a full starter save (like I said on another topic a few minutes ago, all I have done was doing everything possible from that island as soon as it unlocks, I don't glitch to other islands earlier than intended just to do starter saves) and I appreciate how some players go further and try to find a way to do more such as getting that package on bridge with a dodo but I really see no reason for complicating yourself when you can just wait until Shoreside Vale opens and makes the bridge accessible so you can grab that package. I prefer to do things in ORDER, despite what Lethal Vaccine (AKA Militia) has said about me in past, I am NOT being handholded by the game or some nonsense like that and that I enjoy linear games when in REALITY I grew up with old school games that DIDN'T TELL you anything and you had to figure out everything, unlike most of garbage modern games of nowadays that literally hold your hand over the entire game! I just prefer doing things in order but also smart. For example most players do side stuff (packages, rampages, Paramedic, etc) later in game but this is of course a bad thing to do because in this game most gangs start hating you and make the side missions impossible to complete anymore, forcing you to start a new game. I always do side content as soon as the island unlocks and with this done I can easily concentrate on the story missions while also having a nice arsenal of weapons available at hideout. Granted, some players that do full starter save also have the WHOLE arsenal from VERY beginning but where's the fun of having the RPG early in game when you are supposed to get it like later in game when you unlock the third island? Or buy it from Bedfront Point (hope I got the location right) after Arms Shortage. I saw a recent topic how someone had trouble with Silence the Sneak and someone suggested that person to glitch his way to reach the third island only to obtain a damn RPG with THREE rockets! Which is even in a hard to reach place. So he can complete the mission easier. Why? Why go through all the effort of that when you can just fire a few grenades to the window and then throw some more to blow up that car while also blocking the alley so that guy won't go away? Just think simple when completing missions, I admit first time I played the mission years ago I had some trouble with it but it's not that hard anymore. You just learn when you play the game.

@Evil empire While I don't agree with how you always suggest to use mods to solve people's problems in most topics I've seen you posted, I appreciate you are trying to help but I think most people would like to play the game without any mods or cheats. I personally like playing GTA games without cheats and mods but I am also interested in certain TOTAL CONVERSION type of mods such as Frosted Winter and Liberty City Stories PC Edition, which I will gladly play when they are released (for Frosted Winter I'm waiting the new version to be repackaged with all updates before I play, as in 2017 I already played the old version of FW). Granted, the latter is a recreation of LCS to PC on VC engine, while the former is an actual TC for GTA 3 but you get the idea, I mostly prefer these types of mods, not vehicle mods, skin mods, trainers or what most people seem to be interested in. So I'm sorry if I didn't play the mods you suggested to me an year ago, Evil Empire!

@Lethal Vaccine I don't understand what's your problem. Of course you will probably not want to talk to me again but I just can't figure out WHY every time "Mods" get mentioned, you get so triggered? I am assuming you are more of a console gamer (I have nothing against that) and for whatever reason you dislike PC and PC versions of GTA games and that most people use mods but I for one don't use mods or cheats when playing GTA games (except AFTER 100% completion in case I want to mess around and when I'm bored) but also why you are so obsessed with special vehicles and starter saves so much that they are your life and you can't live without them? Look I don't want to get into a fight again with you (or just into a fight with anyone else) because I've been calm enough in all the PM discussions I've had with you but sometimes you got so angry over NOTHING and even misunderstood me many times and quit and called it a day after you deleted my PM. And for example in this topic, Evil Empire explained nicely his reasons for mentioning mods but you seem to get so annoyed every time someone mentions mods. Please tell me why? No one said anything about teleporting with a trainer to reach the packages, YOU are the one who bring up the discussion. But then again what's the point of doing these types of Starter Saves? You can just progress through the story normally and collect everything as soon as the island unlocks, no need for that glitching to locked island nonsense early in game just because you want all packages, so you have an easier time playing the game and you have that "Starter Save" you use every time you want to start GTA 3 from beginning. But why? Normally when I began a new game in any game I played, I always started from ZERO. Because if your point is to just finish the game one more time, you might as well have a 99% save (only remaining thing being the final story mission) and use that each time you revisit the game and then you can say you completed the game again each time. Where's the fun in that? Even though I AGREE that redoing boring side stuff every time you play the game is really tedious, if I were to use a Starter Save (that has Portland stuff done), it would have Paramedic and Taxi Driver missions done already. As well as whatever packages, rampages, jumps, import/export, RC and offroad missions were available early in game. So it would still have a decent amount of stuff complete to prepare you for first mission. But some people prefer to have everything complete.

Also I just never understood that: You act like it's a sin to use (or even TALK about) cheats and mods, yet it's perfectly fine to glitch your way and even use OM0 sh*t (which you admit it's glitchy) to obtain special vehicles and do everything in the end to obtain them, no matter the result and no matter what ways you have to use to obtain and no matter what TYPE of vehicle you obtain. Yet it's a sin to use a trainer or a save editor to spawn an AP vehicle into your garage, to just mess around after 100% completion. Seriously I don't understand why you have to go through the effort of obtaining vehicles that WEREN'T even meant to be obtained in first place (despite your last PM saying that Rockstar INTENDED the players to obtain vehicles, well yeah it's true for BP Patriot in GTA 3 and the two proofed/unique vehicles in LCS after Avenging Angels and See The Sight Before Your Flight), in the end the vehicles that require various glitchy ways weren't actually intended to be obtained, despite whatever you are saying. And yes I HAD to say all of that after that last PM you have sent to me a week or so ago, in which it even contained some rude things (before blocking me) but let's keep that for ourselves, shall we?

And I apologize if my message was off-topic but I felt the need to call out Militia because of all this nonsense with special vehicles and mods being mentioned and insults he had sent to me in past, at least in last 2 or so years. But I am in no way doing that to sound rude, I wanted to explain all my thoughts about this, because I often see topics like these popping out and it's mentioned either one extreme or the other: Mods or Starter Save/Special Vehicles. I don't know why I can't find normal replies about normally playing the game?

Or cuz I blocked you in PM.  Get over it, move on.

Bye.

Or maybe for those uncalled insults at end considering I wanted to end the PM in a nice way, not necessary for the fact that I got blocked, which was very expected.

Ok then, bye.

Also in regards to what I said in my previous message, to avoid misunderstanding, I am not saying that everyone should play the game normally. People are free to play the game however they want, some people might prefer to play the game normally, others want to use cheats or trainers and others want to collect special vehicles and such. No one is stopping anyone from how they are playing the game. Everyone is free to do whatever they want.

Hi there, I play on mobile and I am attempting to get the hidden package. Should I use a PS3 controller (though the d-pad doesn't work for movement) or Keyboard and Mouse? If the d-pad could work for movement I am able to press up instead of the analog stick.

Don't worry, I used Lethal Vaccines method. I didn't need to learn how to fly the dodo.😀

I get that I'm incredibly late to this but, what method? he never gave a method just talked about how he supposedly had done it without backing that claim up at all?
