Übermacht Revolter Appreciation & Discussion Thread

I guess since I don't care about the car's branding much, I am able to like this car.

I'm sometimes a utilitarian person, and the car just seldom causes trouble. It goes really fast when I step on the gas. It turns well when it should turn, and powerslides when it should powerslide (some cars just really don't want to let go its traction when it actually should slide to avoid crashing). Doesn't practically deform with 100% armor upgrade. When it goes off-road, it becomes a off-roader immediately, and it never tips over.

It also comes with unique rims, retractable door handles, classy taillights and pillarless door windows. It's also super easy to drive. Engine sound is nice but not overly obnoxious. No frequent backfiring either. The suspension feels sporty, but it absorbs almost all bumps and potholes.

I guess 1.6 million comes from the overall experience and how easy-going it is. I've sold my first one after I got the second one for free during the event week, so practically I bought it for only 800k lol.

I honestly don't know why some people are so fixated on the branding that it literally causes them to dislike the entire car because of it. It just seems silly to me. I always forget about the branding and can easily look past it. Hell, sometimes I forget that it's even branded as Ubermacht in the first place. Just stop focusing on it all the time, and it shouldn't become an annoyance. Like you pointed out, it's a great vehicle in and of itself, but I can understand that the looks aren't for everyone and that the price tag is ridiculous. The looks personally grew on me.

It has everything to do with consistency. I play this game primarily for cars, and I play games these days for a quality experience because I rarely get to play them as much as I used to. So I like the utmost thought, care, and consistency to be put into a product. If not, I won't like it and I will forget it exists. With the Revolter, I don't like its looks anyway so, while the badging puzzles me, I don't care as much because it's ugly to me anyway.

But with, say, another car. If they badged a Lamborghini as a Grotti or vice versa, that is just wrong to me. Say what you want "well it's a game/virtual universe, not everything correlates with real-life" it's a sorry argument to me. All of these fictional brands are consistent parodies of real-life brands. Grottis are primarily Ferraris. Pegassis are primarily Lamborghinis. Dewbauchees are primarily Aston Martins. Declasses are primarily Chevy and other GM cars. Etc. There is some leeway and most cars have multiple influences from other cars that may be from other real-life brands. But there is a consistency. So whenever Rockstar does something and badges it as something that has like, little correlation whatsoever to that brand... it just looks stupid. It also breaks the immersion. And I will happily forget said car exists because of it, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. To be frank, most questionably badged cars in this game tend to be of mediocre quality IMO outside of their branding anyway. It goes to show how much effort I think was actually put into said cars. But for me, really, why should I put up with something I don't like? I'm over being content with mediocrity if I don't have to be.

If I don't like a car, or certain aspects about it, I simply won't drive it. And in SP, if I can change things like the sound or handling or badges (via a 3D modeling software) I will. If I can't do anything about it however, I'll take an L.

To me, there's just too many cars in the game to settle. And actually, I look at things from a modder who plays SP perspective. But actually, if I played GTA:Online like I used to and grinded for this stuff, my standards would be a lot higher. You are investing your time and energy, or possibly real money, to obtain said cars so I think they need to do as good of a job as they can with them.

Revolter has a misplaced badge on top of the Ubermacht badge. I believe it is the Pfister emblem.

Yes, this has been reported ever since a few weeks after the car was released.

The initially planned this to be Pfister...Which would make it even worse than a Ubermatch.

Oh! Ok.. My bad.

Pfister would be weird. With Ubermacht I feel it can get away with because of the front fascia

I honestly wonder what they were smoking when they were working on this car.

I wonder what they're smoking when working on almost everything in this game. :)

I didn't renew my PS+ last year, so no access to my Revolters lately. I like how fast it is and it sounds so darn mean.

the cause for this is that the Revolter's texture directory has a copy of the Neon's badge textures for some reason. This includes the Neon's badge normal mapping. This is why the Pfister badge's "bumpiness" appears but not the pfister badge itself. You'll notice that the Pfister badge normals are actually off-centre. This is because, as you can see below, the Pfister badge is in the top left corner of the texture, while the Ubermacht badge is dead centre in its texture

This doesn't mean the car was going to be a Pfister at any point in development. It's most likely just an error from sloppy copy-pasting

is not that bad, they just needed to call it a cadillac (or albany) and no one would give two shats about it

Sold my Revolter tonight, I loved the car and I enjoyed driving it, but my ever growing resentmentnt for GM has ravaged that experience and sucked the fun out of it. I just kept moving it from one garage to the other until it eventually started collecting dust in the arcade's basement. A bit melodramatic I know, but whatever.

It used to be one of my favorites and I owned 5 Revolters at one point ... Uh well.
