Karin 190z Appreciation and Discussion Thread

I too am part of Team #ChromeFrontBumper.

 

Only recently got a 190z as it came out while I was taking a break from GTAO and it's a really nice car - except that front bumper has no secondary or chrome option! As my 190z is black, the front bumper kinda disappears into the body (as opposed to my shiny chrome rear bumper which is a feature). It's still a beautiful vehicle and one I will definitely keep, but there's always something, right? :sigh:

I've been driving mine a lot lately. Love the sound and handling. The thin front bumper is mildly less offensive, but why there isn't a secondary or chrome option I have no idea. Ok so each end is from a different car, but they usually try to offer options that will help them blend.

The strip on the front reminds me of the one on the front of the Superbird/Daytona so it would pass safety regulations.

I had a 1978 280 Z in real life for a couple months the 2.8 litre straight 6 loved to rev 5 speed ,it was a fun little car :)

This car's been out for a good while now but I still can't accept those wheel arches with the tucked in wheels. Makes me wonder why they put those in as an option even, because they're pretty much pointless this way.
A suspension option with wider stance is really needed for cars like this. Either that, or make the wide body version a different model, just like how there are separated regular and convertible versions to several cars. How about a regular 190Z and a 190ZG or something like that? Rockstar pls. I just want my 190Z with wide arches.

The grey looks great imo, it's like a pure industrial look, tough and no fuss

A long time Z car fan (yes there's Toyota influence but it's a 240 in my eyes). My first introduction was through the Transformers cartoon and toys, though my 3 year old eyes and brain told me it was a Porsche.

 

I like Rockstar's take on it for the most part, but as mentioned many times before, we could do with a chrome bumper and better interior. Fun car to cruise around in.

It’s simply got too much 2000GT in it for my taste. You try to make it look like a 2000GT and the Fairlady front clip makes it look awkward. Try to do it up like an S30, the 2000GT body looks weird. It’s one of those cars I keep buying and then selling when I can’t get it to look right

It lacks a b pillar:

Also this car needs some racing seats and a rool cage to complete the tuner/racecar look.

 

This car deserved a Benny's upgrade :(

I feel like this car would've been better if it had the 240z's G front end, then there was another car that was a bit more in line with how the 240z is, with the regular Z's front end.

 

I guess this is because of my general feelings about the G front end, in that it looks good from the A pillar forward, but it really doesn't mesh well with the proportions of the cabin and the rest of the car. it's a bit too smooth and long for the car it's on, and I feel like maybe it'd look better if the cabin proportioned a bit more differently. whether that hypothetical rest of the car matches up with how the 2000gt is shaped is probably going to be a mystery, because i don't really feel like making a mockup, but i feel like going something with the G nose would be an opportunity to improve on real life

Just like with my Ocelot Swinger build, I also played with the 190z being the amalgamation of two cars.

 

Nissan 240z at the front

What I like:

- Nice engine sound.

- Nice handling.

- Lots of modification options.

- Reused but fitting interior (for a 2000GT vehicle, that is).

 

What I don't like:

- Fender flares without proper wheel fitment looks dumb.

- Karin instead of Annis (the description and price tag may be references to the 2000GT, but the modifications and overall design is obviously 240Z).

- Rather lackuster performance for an Sports Classic.

- No interior mods whatsoever (racing seats, roll cages or stripped dashboards).

- No chrome front bumper options at all.

- White lights on a vintage car instead of yellow ones.

 

Also, I was wrong, the 190z does have a b-pillar, but it's just a faint chrome line.

 

This car deserved a Benny's Custom upgrade that bumped its performance and put it in the Sports class, alonside other tuners like the Elegy Retro Custom and Jester Classic.
