Karin 190z Appreciation and Discussion Thread

Karin 190z

Sports Classics - available at Legendary Motorsport for $900,000:

"The Karin 190z changed the world. If European marques harbored any residual sense of innate superiority, this is the car that crushed it utterly and forever. More elegant than the most refined Grotti, classier then the suavest Ocelot, as perfectly engineered as any Pfister, the 190z was a cup of piping hot sake in the face of fifty years of complacency."

Awesome pics courtesy of TG_Stig, JoonasPRKL, unbid, and D.B. Cooper!

Based primarily on the legendary Nissan/Datsun 240Z (S30) - the very first, iconic Fairlady Z:

Secondary influences and interior from another classic, the Toyota 2000GT:

...aaand it's a Karin, not an Annis - because of course it is... :sigh:

Professional Amateur

The 240Z is a fantastic looking car so it's nice to see that its overall shape hasn't been toyed with too much.

Didn't have much hope in this update in terms of the cars but clearly I was wrong.

Lol - actually, the Maserati Mistral would at least be closer in terms of the rear window/lights! :pp

But thanks - this might just be good enough to earn that currently-empty slot in my Little Seoul garage, next to my Elegy Retro (although I'd like to hold out for something else from the '90s if I can possibly help it! ;)). Getting 600 Coupe S flashbacks from Sleeping Dogs - looking forward to seeing what customisation options are available...

To be fair, Annis or Karin could have worked.

The description and the rear of the car is clearly based off the Toyota 2000GT

The 190Z has 135 parts (at least that's how many items are in the rpf)

^ Yeah - I see the rear as a cross between that, and the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso:

1964-Ferrari-250-GTL-Berlinetta-Lusso-by

And it doesn't hurt that they're not pretending it's Swedish or something daft like that - let us never forget what they did with the Warrener... :p

Ah, I can see that. Although it seems to be double dipping if that's the case since there's already another car based on the Lusso in this update (GT500).

I definitely agree with you about the Warrener; don't forget the Contender (clearly a Toyota Tundra) and Kuruma (why is it not a Maibatsu...) too haha.

I honestly can't wait for this car. I love the attention classics are getting.

Yeah - it's a bit like the Testarossa influence in the Infernus Classic (right before the Cheetah Classic came out), while the Cheetah Classic has the bits of F40 that the Turismo Classic didn't use.

Seems like when R*'s car designers get an idea in their heads, they squeeze as much juice out of it as they can... :p

Do you know if it´s drip feed content?

No idea so far - although one good thing: it's not sporting some random MOC-upgrade weapons. Looks like the new Pantera expy, the rally Comet, and a couple of other things all have the option to be fitted with MOAR DAKKA! at either the MOC or the Avenger (which is basically an air MOC). :rol:

...what it does have, though, is Rapid GT Classic-levels of customisation - including bolt-on fender extensions, 'kits' (body kits?), engine/interior options, and even decals/racing liveries. Hold on to your lug nuts, because here's the full list:

I want to believe that this look is possible:

240Z-003.jpg

There's obviously the bolt-on fender arches, but I'd love for it to also have the front bumper insert to match. :inlove:

There are a lot of classics. I just feels like they are content of the next update, Hipsters 2. I hope not but it´s my guess.

So going to try not be to disappointed if we will have to wait. The drip feed will be long this time.

"Flush Hood Exhaust" and "It's Lower" livery.

Possible Rotsun??

[pic]

I'd love to see Rotsun - iIt's a rust bucket, but a unique one. Never fails to fail.

RIP Requiem.

Helps that this has a proper 240Z front end, and not something that looks suspiciously like an MG MGB... :p

And holy moley, if you can make a Devil Z or Rotsun out of this thing... :panic:
