Willy A. Jeep Posted February 14, 2018 Share Posted February 14, 2018 (edited) There's little more iconic to hot rod culture than the one that started it all, the 1932 Vapid Hustler coupe. Millions of these things made their way out of the factory and have found their places in all walks of life, and they're finally turning up in Los Santos. So here's mine. Noticed it while I was walking back to Harmony when the Emperor overheated in the hills south of there. It was just sitting in a small scrap yard, if you can believe that. While I was admiring the thing, the owner rolled up and I just had to ask about it. Turns out it was a survivor until the 60s, when whoever owned it then decided they wanted a project car and dropped a period V8 in it, tooled around with the suspension, and replaced the horn for no good reason. Seems like they lost interest and it changed hands from then on until landing in this guy's yard, rusting. Said it could be mine for twenty-five, haggled it down to twenty-three, and by the end of the day, had myself a '32 Vapid. The interior was perfect for having sat in a yard for a few years, though the guy did say he kept an eye on it. Once Hao and I got it running, a buddy of mine asked if I wanted to cruise on up to Paleto with him and his, and I just couldn't refuse. More images in the spoiler below, as always. It's problematic when it comes to high speed turning, but it's a drag vehicle for me. Apologies for the crummy quality and watermark. Old PC and stuff, and it's time we put watermarks on our car pics. I'll probably start a new topic when the Doomsday Dripfeed is about to end regarding that. It's a bit of a shame that there's no good brown matte colour. Too few matte, I say! Anyone have good suggestions for "worn-looking" rims? I'm not sure if these fit the old dusty rusty look. I think it looks fine, rat rods don't always have equally rusty wheels. My rat rod hustler is matte dark earth/grey-beechwood pearl with dark copper wheels, I think it turned out great. I just ignore his posts. As hard as it is. He doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to doing anything but driving cars in a straight line. His Pfister Neon videos were comedy gold on how not to drive a car. Constantly throttling and hitting anything and everything infront of him. Yeah this dumbass gets shot down with every crappy "BUYER BEWARE!!1" 2hr video he posts. I'd ask for a ban, but watching the resulting car crash is far more entertaining. While Franken is still the best sounding vehicle. I like how they don't sound the same. It's more throaty idling than when it revs, which sounds weird to me. It's like the idle sound and the engine in motion sound came from two different cars. The buzzy engine sound when it's moving kind of reminds me of a power tool. It might sound better with a lower pitch. I don't care for it, but it's not a major issue. I prefer this to the Franken Stange tbh. Has a high revving nascar type of sound.
