Did you have to write that at light speed?

Imo Love just took his private jet and flew to the mansion he bought in a tropical or anykind of paradise. Or perhaps he went to VC or SA instead.

We have no way of knowing, there was nothing to suggest something that happened to him, or any evidence that went somewhere or anything else. There no was evidence at all, he just vanished, so unfortunately, we can't speculate anything, we can only theorise.

1.Couldve just flees liberty city again as most likely the cartel goons were after him as in 98 we know he was on the run by the cartel due to a demanding cut after the attack on Fort staunton (Forellis you will be missed) as this was property related and the hit on kenji was to reduce the property prices. The cartel could've easily tracked him down due to his previous involvement or

his reputation in the city.

I highly doubt that he was killed as there was no dead bodies to be seen in love's disappearance unlike random.

Also the cartel was under pressure from the turf war between them and the yakuza and the demise from Claude. Love media may of had security which could hold off cartel goons. Besides I don't think the yakuza was involved as he did not have history with the them.

God knows what happened to him maybe left LC as he could feared that Claude could potentially Assasinate Donald love as he had worked for kenji and later had killed him and salvatore to a lesser extent.

The Old Oriental Gentleman was on his way to prison, and was broken out by the cartel (beginning scene). Donald Love has you rescue him later.

Love has you collect a package (Grand Theft Aero) which was very important to both the authorities (since it was seized) and the cartel (who got to it first). I presume that it is this same package that Love sends the Old Oriental Gentleman to have authenticated (Escort Service) which attracts the attention of the cartel. Later, the police surround the building the Old Oriental Gentleman (and presumably the package) are located in and you have to lure the police away so the Old Oriental Gentleman can escape (Decoy). After this, Donald Love is nowhere to be found.

What could this package be that both the police and cartel want so badly?

It seems to be something the Old Oriental Gentleman has great knowledge of, since the cartel, and later you/Donald Love, went through much trouble to retrieve him.

I don't know.

Since the scenario doesn't give any clue about this so important package it seems like Rockstar preferred to keep the maximum choices for the scenario of a sequel.

Frankly I think he fled Liberty City to lie low for a while and when he came back the Yakuza assassinated him.

Got caught by FBI. Sentenced To death for stealing those packages......or maybe FBI killed him and took away package for their own personal use.

I don't know.

I don't think it's something we'll ever find out, it's part of the mysterious nature of DL and the Old Oriental.

My guess is that it's either the green goo, a new experimental drug (would explain why the Cartel was after it), evidence of Donald being a cannibal, or maybe it's something from the Zaibatsu Corporation (If they're involved, it would explain why Donald is missing and why everything is so discreet)

I don't think they disappeared because of the Cartel, as they're pretty much finished after "The Exchange". Something serious is going on behind the scenes and Claude isn't involved. Too bad that story never got continued.

I think I have a valid explanation as to what happened to Donald Love:

From a 2009 Rockstar Q&A: "No one is quite sure what happened to Donald Love.  He certainly crossed a few boundaries and was trying to find a way back to normality.  Whether or not he managed this, and what happened to the elderly Asian gentleman are matters we cannot speculate on."\

"Normality". Donald is hinted to be a cannibal and even asks Toni to bring dead bodies to him twice during the storyline of LCS. I think Donald was so far into cannibalism that he caught a nasty disease from eating bodies and was about to die. In a Liberty Tree article on the Old Oriental Gentleman designed by R*, it is mentioned that the only answer he kept giving to all of the questions asked by the INS officers was "Love and Death", which makes clear that Donald is about to die because of the disease. Anyway, so to get rid of the disease, he decided to bring in the Old Oriental Gentleman from East Asia who knew the disease, it's cure and the way to use the cure. But the Colombian Cartel wanted Donald gone because he employed Toni against them in LCS' story, so he employed Claude in III's story to get the Old Oriental Gentleman back as well as the package that contained the cure. After that, he sent the Old Oriental Gentleman to get the cure authenticated as the real deal in the "Escort Service" mission and finally, he escaped with the Old Oriental Gentleman on the first moment of possibility of doing so. And he most likely returned to Liberty City again after getting rid of the disease, albeit without the Old Oriental Gentleman. In fact, this disease could be the reason why he doesn't act childishly in III like he does in LCS.

The article you mentioned doesn't give any clue about the old asian gentleman's motivations but I like your hypothesis.

The thing is they didn't seem to know what's in this package and that it's a cure for Donald Also if it's just a cure why is it wanted so badly by everyone
