elfoam
Yeah I guess they forgot the manual aim missiles. Easily fixed though. Well i think they did that intentionally. I mean they make you choose between homing and barrage while the hunter that has both. Well they made a lot of the game crap on purpose but that doesn't mean they wont fix it if you keep telling them they forgot something because it sure looks like they forgot it. docholladay1976
Well, I still love the Akula despite getting my backside handed to me by an oppressor earlier. I must of got lucky with an inexperienced rider the other day. But, I still managed to pick up loads of bounties and knock a few red dots off the map. Although the oppressor got the better of me, his constant messaging at least told me I got under his skin. And at least I disrupted him from doing much else for an hour. So, not a total loss then. AsphaltTrench
I noticed the Akula's barrage missile works just as great as the homing missiles the Akula can use. I literally ripped apart another Akula while he was looking for me and I used the Barrage missiles on him.
CobraX
Yeah I guess they forgot the manual aim missiles. Easily fixed though. It sucks when you're trying to shoot a ground target with homing missiles when cops are on the scene. Your best bet then is to carpet bomb the enemy. I don't see them fixing it. The homing missiles of the Hunter also can't be fired in non-homing mode. It has to switch to Barrage for shooting non-homing missiles (or have no lock-on targets in range while shooting homing missiles).
RyuNova
For once they tried to balance a new vehicle with an old one. Normally vehicles from the new DLC outclass the previous ones. At least this time they tried and the Hunter is not instantly outclassed. RealKingsmedic, Nossirag and Fatsanchez
Yellow Dog with Cone
The Akula is an awesome helicopter, I love it. Unlike the Hunter, which needs a gunner to reach its full potential, the Akula can be powerful solo, making surprice attacks on unsuspecting targets. The stealth ability hiding cargo/supplies and sales it's so useful, I hope that R* don't patch it later. My only two minor complains: - Wish that the Akula had it's own set of liveries aside from the Gunrunning ones. - Having a Non-Homing option could be useful. - It would be cooler if it was called "RF1 Akula" instead of just "Akula". For some reason, I love this kind of acronyms on military vehicle names. Happy Hunter, gtafan26 and Fatsanchez

Bloodytears1666
Video That's so funny, people sometimes pass by you right above or behind and have no idea that you at those tight spots between buildings and mountains. Some very careless don't even bother themselves to watch above, so you can steel observe targets without care of cover blown. The Wandering Hunter
this thing is great for annoying ghost spammers, fly about in stealth, go otr, land on roof, snipe, get back in and while they're expecting to be sniped, bomb them etc. and the lack of countermeasures isn't so bad when you can tank 3 homers or dodge them. LordLoff
How is it for headhunter? Can the targets detect you when in stealth mode? Headhunter is fast and straightforward, you get close, lock and start firing, out of stealth, until they die Stealth has no use for headhunter cause targets are not looking at map blibs to escape and as soon as you reach targets you expose yourself because you need to shoot Either Buzzard or Akula make headhunter a piece of cake IamCourtney, Fatsanchez and HKM87

Fair points. Another thing: The Akula don’t pause after firing two rockets as the Buzzard does (or rather, the Buzzard reloads wheras the Akula has more continuous fire), which means no escapees from the target vehicle which may happen occasionally. tommyguns
Does the pilot get control of any of the guns? The other day my Akula took a serious beating and I noticed how the stealth system and the side machine gun hatches started malfunctioning. Has anybody else experienced this? It was pretty cool but also made me anxious that its fancy systems are not so reliable after all. But it's only happened once.. Or maybe I'm just mistaken and the stressful situation had me freaking out over the controls.

Seriously, the lack of non-homing missiles when you have bought the homing missile mod is the biggest issue i have with this heli, i guess you could equip bombs, but as somone who likes using the buzzard against on-foot players, I NEED MAH DAMN DUMB-FIREs OKAY R*? Duckdude001
Im glad they didnt make it the most powerful heli, makes my hunter, buzzard, savage and Valkyrie with friends still relevant. The stealth mode is fun and all but I think the hunter is the superior one out of the two. The only advantage akula has is its stealth mode and being able to use the cannons solo (the cannons themselves are weaker than buzzard ones tho so I dont see it being that better off solo than the hunter.) Sentinel55
I love this helicopter! It's such a great addition to the game. It's time to retire my Buzzard I guess. Oh and btw. To everyone with homing missiles. You can actually switch between targets using Num7 and Num9. It should make attacking easier when cops are around. But I don't know if you can do the same thing using a controller.

Every helicopter has its advantages and disadvantages. Some helicopters work better for certain situations (e.g. if you want to land in tight spots a Buzzard will be a better option than a Savage). Just evaluate the situation beforehand and pick your helicopter then. I still love all of my helicopters (Buzzard, Savage, Swift Deluxe from my Yacht, Hunter and Akula) and will use them whenever I feel they are the most suited for the task at hand. I won't retire my Buzzard. It will stay my CEO workhorse. The ability to spawn it anywhere at your feet is a feature I don't want to live without. I also find the Buzzard more suitable for Sightseer because it can land in (very) tight spots thanks to its small rotor blades. Sentinel55
You're absolutely right. The Buzzard is in my opinion the most practical vehicle in Gta Online. I can't retire it for ever. Nobody should. But I'll retire it for this Year. I have flown over 6000 Miles with the Buzzard, It's time for a Change. SkylineGTRFreak

If, after damage, machine guns are down, does it also affects stealth. Kinda never had situation to tell for sure. If not glitched, Akula very agile, and after message that helicopter being destroyed one could travel pretty long away with it.
