Arrows to Athens

If this didn't become a meme vehicle, I would drive it more often.

Thanks, Cockstar.

Got mine finally, not sure why I waited.

I spent an hour doing various CEO/vip stuff in a lobby with a few n00bs. They left me alone so I left them alone. After doing several runs I blew my deluxo on the last target so called in my buzzard to finish the job.

Boy was I in for a rude surprise when I couldn't control the heli. Bounced it off a light pole, a box of crates and then the ground. Violently.

I managed to get out as it caught fire, snuffed the last target and called my deluxo back.

It's a great, useful tool for doing quite a bit off solo stuff and is just fun to drive.

It appears to hover at the same speed as driving but slows when flying. I find myself going to the ocean and hovering over the water to get from city to air base etc.

Great car, can't wait to get into a lobby with griefing kiddos to see how bad ass it really is.

nope, hovering over ground is slower then normal driving

but I'm pretty sure it gets extra speed boosts every time you enter hover mode. So the best way to speed up is to turn hover On and Off couple times.

Solid Scorpion

I'm very tight with my spending habits.

Took a gamble and boy or boy do I not regret it one bit! Epitome of fun!

Had it in brushed steel, then I remembered I used to be in love with the VW Scirocco.

Z0kvLM1.jpg

So it's a pretendy Scirocco to me now.

I heard some people in a session complaining about how slow the Deluxo is.

I got 22M dollars from grinding so I think I'll take a chance on the Deluxo. But I'm holding all of your responsible if it sucks.

Would you guys sell your Oppressor bike to buy the Deluxo?

OK, so I spent over 5 mil on this car after reading this thread when you consider all the upgrades and missiles ect. It is a lot of fun and I can see how it will be a force once I learn how to handle it in combat situations. I did get blown up about 6 times just trying to learn to fly it in free roam yesterday. This same guy kept taking me out and got charged 20K every time so I just kept getting it back and going back to him and he would blow me up. I was amazed at the amount of money he was willing to sacrifice. He must have spent 140K total before he just left the lobby.

So as I was afraid the car is a troll magnet. I can drive around in my Vigilante and no one bothers me. But I do like this Luxor better than my Oppressor bike already.

As has been said many times, if the unarmed version of the Deluxo had a regular map icon like the Vigilante, people that drive / hover / fly it wouldn't be as much of a target. If the Deluxo is armed however, it's fair game!

Fair game for $20,000 per shot! I don't care how much money I have, I will not spend that much to kill someone. But I couldn't care less about my K-D ratio either which I know too many are obsessed with.

Just use the backwards flying glitch. It makes it the fastest vehicle in the game, something around 355/MPH. It's so fast that it causes buildings to disappear because the game can't keep up with it. !MAKE SURE YOU ARE HOLDING DOWN THE ACCELERATOR DURING THIS ENTIRE PROCESS! Just get some altitude, exit flying/hover mode, rotate the car backwards till the rear end is just a little past pointing towards the ground, then do a half barrel roll so that the vehicle is upright again while the rear end is still kinda pointed towards the ground, then reenter hover mode while keeping the rear end pointed downwards, fly around like a lunatic. It's the fastest way to transverse the map, you can even go flying past Lazers using this method.

Uh oh... now you've gone and done it! LOL.

Thanks for the tip. I've heard of that glitch but hadn't tried it. Sounds like it takes practice. I might have to park the Akula in the hanger for a couple hours while I try this.

I actually haven't tried the speed glitch yet. I attempted it once, it didn't work, and I haven't attempted it again. I probably should before they patch it.

So, if I understand it, you hold the accelerator to go in reverse and not reverse?

Edit: I give up, I can't get it to work. I've been trying for a half an hour.

It takes awhile to get right, but once you get it, it's pretty easy to duplicate. This video shows how to do it. Just remember to always keep holding down the accelerator button, not the brake button to go in reverse, but the gas button.

Finally got it my first try last night. Crashed quickly and was unable to do it again. Tried for over an hour. Seems too unreliable to use efficiently. From all my attempts I have about a 1% success rate.

It likes to whig out and make you think it's gonna reverse for a second, then it goes forward

Glad I'm not the only one who saw that likeness. I just wish the secondary changed the lower part of the bumper and trim, as otherwise you're limited to matching primary and secondary, or putting up with a strange mix of black and light grey.

I can't believe it but this is already my favorite car with the Vigilante being a close 2nd. This thing is so awesome for grinding headhunter and contact missions.

I find it slow for headhunter and Sightseers but effective. I prefer the akula though.

Use Deluxo for Sightseer, no problem.

Use Akula for Sightseer once, land on a hill and the rear rotor clips through the model and breaks on a few blades of grass there was absolutely no way it was even touching. Call Deluxo and finish the job after huffing it down a hill.

Haaaaaahahahahalolol @ chucking the akula down the hill.

I quit doing Sightseers when I got the akula. Used to use buzzard, then deluxo. I don't like the deluxo when the Sightseers are spread across the map.

Such a beautiful car! I wish there was a version without the hover BS and the minimap blip

The Deluxo is great for flying across the map when you do the super speed thing

Its troublesome but once you do it once you can do it easy

easiest way imo

fly high while still having forward momentum (accelerate + going up)

press x to disable hover mode while keeping the nose up, stop holding R2 (r analog stick held down)

let the car tilt until the ass of the car seems to be guiding the car forward while upside down

flip the car over and press x to reenable hover

Thanks. That's a bit different than what I was trying to do. I'll try again tonight if I can ever get my kid off the xbox. :)

The Deluxo is perfect for headhunter. The more time you take the more money you get anyway. If you sit and wait to kill the last target until there is less than 3 mins you get the full 25K but who wants to wait that long? If you start in the city there's no way it takes you more than 6 or 7 minutes to get all 4 targets anyway.

And then I used the Buzzard for sightseer.

I see a somewhat of Peugeot project E27 in it. I might try to see if i can copy the look.

And then I used the Buzzard for sightseer.

The mission is 15 minutes. I can do it usually in less than 5 with the Buzzard or akula.

That's 20k.

I wait five minutes for the VIP cooldown and sell a sandking while waiting.

Thats 17k.

Then do sightseer, usually in about 5 minutes.

That's 20k.

So in that same 15 minutes I've made over 57k instead of 25k plus 3 extra minutes.

Maths are easy. :)
