Is the sniper draw distance different on the Nokota?

Everyone knows the strength of the explosive rounds on the Lazer and Hydra's. I'm wondering if the same strength applies on against the newer planes like the Nokota? Has anyone been able to snipe them out of the sky in 2 shots like with the jets?

I ask because yesterday I had a guy in a Nokota trolling our gun running missions. Homing missile launchers were ineffective because he'd release flares. Fortunately for us he was terrible at trying to take down our vehicles (I guess the lack of explosive bullets like in a jet) but I also could not snipe this mofo to save my life.

I'm talking clear-cut shots where I clearly had the cross hairs on his plane.....shots that would have destroyed the jets. At least 5 "hits" that should have registered. Anyone else seen this? Is the effectiveness of the shot distance changed with this plane? IE it's too far away to register a hit? Does it just have better armor? I guess I could line my Nokota up outside and shoot at it with a sniper rifle to see how many shots it takes to blow up.....

Maybe depending on how far away you were you weren't leading it enough. I know sometimes if the person in the plane is lagging I have to lead even more than usual. Also I do know my rouge has taken up to 3 shots and made it to the hanger from what I remember.

Unlike the Lazer/Hydra the Nokota (Rogue, Pyro and some other new aircraft) can be upgraded with armor which helps a lot. Distance also reduces the damage from explosive sniper rounds.

Well Smuggler's Run planes without armour are destroyed in two shots from the explosive rounds on the HSR Mk.2, and those with 100% armour are destroyed from three shots. The two helis survive slightly more (with the FH-1 Hunter surviving more than the Havok again).

With regards to range reducing damage, I don't think it makes any difference with Sniper Rifles and/ or the HSR Mk.2 with the explosive rounds. I tested shooting at a FH-1 Hunter when it was almost out of render distance (so just a tiny black speck through the scope) and it got destroyed in the same 7 shots as it did when at very close range (the Hunter had 100% armour).

If each shot I did that looked "spot on" was an actually accurate shot, my KDR would be ten times better than what it is today :D

Also, never forget about lag, or about godmodded vehicles, or about the difference between what you think you saw and what reality actually is.
