World records

A couple of days ago I was playing some of the new transform races. Like I always do when I play a new race, I always get around as fast as possible and go for the record. Well I got around in 2:53 and honestly believe I couldn't have done any better. The world record (after only one day) was 1:50. The arms race has a world record of 16 seconds and the best I've done is around 38 seconds. I'm really curious about world record. Is there some trick that allows you to get around so much faster or are they all of the result of cheating?

I remember there was an old checkpoint hop glitch at launch which meant the checkpoints would mess up occasionally; switching them around (finish checkpoint as the second checkpoint, etc). In fact it had a boom again with the first lot of Stunt Races we got. Why Rockstar won't get rid of the obvious cheated records is beyond me.

Cheats for sure do know so much. But also lag, that can come into it.

 

Especially with those stunt/transform races, there's so many loop-da-loops that I'm sure you/many have seen your position go from 8th to 1st to 14th back to 8th again in about 2 seconds in places in busier races... Can confuse the game, and as we see, it's full of flaws in this regard.

Surprisingly there are still some legit noncontact world records on pc. Like mine at "dam control" that I did with my first try

The only record I've got close to has a record of 1:16 and I can do it in 1:18.

I wish R* would just wipe the world records every 6 months and retain personal records. It's annoying that glitches and modders have left people who are trying to accomplish something in the dark.

You should have played the new ones yesterday if you need that award. It was your best chance.

Pretty much all wr times are bs. Non contact races are your best bet for finding legit times to beat.

Even the transform times seem to be bs already. Theres been a few times when the game puts you into a vehicle and Ive seen guys on their own bikes passing me.

I know just about all non contact air races have legit times but they are very hard to beat.

On old-gen (PS3) Criminal Records had a record lap time of less than a second.

The fastest aircraft in the game, pointed straight down, and at full throttle could not cover the distance of one of those laps in that amount of time. This was set in 2013; Rockstar has never deemed it necessary to reset the records, even when they were impossible.

 

If I didn’t already have the Racing Blonde tattoo for both of my characters (one glitched, one legitimate), I would consider it to be a “dead” reward, like the armored truck tattoo and Los Santos Belle shirt.

Indeed. Those rewards are impossible to obtain nowadays.

I always assumed silly records came from teleportation glitches (as you can quickly flick to next checkpoint on the map) but none active currently afaik? Although there may well be in the super sekrit subforums over on The Other Place.

Indeed. Those rewards are impossible to obtain nowadays.

 

They are not impossible. You have to try them at the right times like when new races are released.

When the new planes came out was the best time. First the howard and alpha came out and they were the new fastest planes, could have easily got the award then. Then you had another chance when the pyro was released and became the fastest plane. Then 2 more chances when the old and new transform races were released.

I got the award 2 times for my alternate account and set a bunch of new records.

Speed hacks, i've seen them in free roam, so i guess it's the same just in a race.

A world record reset every quarter or so could be healthy, and give opportunities to competitors to make good times and remove the 00:00:10 records already in nowadays.

(Before they get hacked again, of course)

probably ( surely) cheats .... see those WR in some races : 10 or 20s which is hilarious of course ...

had my WR on The Dragon Transform race last month , but I missed the new transform races this week because I wasn´t at home the whole day :S
