JohnStatistics Posted November 12, 2017 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Good Evening everyone, I just thought I would make a post on how I love GTA 5 story mode, I have to be on my 10th playthrough, there is just something I can't explain but will any or is there any game as good as GTA 5 Story Mode? It is hard to explain but I love how long the Story is, the atmosphere, I just think it's the best game I'll ever play and wonder how it will be beaten. I will confess and I don't care if I get laughed at I get so engrossed into the story it feels like I am actually there? It is really hard for me to explain but I have completed it like 10 times and I am again going to start it from the beginning, I just love how I forget everything and it kills so much time, sorry if I sound crazy but does anyone agree with me? I feel so relaxed and happy when playing the story, my mind gets lost in it, Michael Franklin Trevor Lamar Lester. 10/10 for GTA Story and I'm just wondering if any of you know of a better game? I find the story to be an incredible amalgamation of action, drama, government intrigue, heists, and for the first time in GTA history, one of the protagonists has an actual family that is heavily involved in the plot. GTA V gets a lot of credit for the graphics, the amazing map, gameplay, the myriad of side mission variety, and the reward system and properties. But it's easy to forget how incredible and engrossing the story is as well. In my view, V has the weakest story in the main series. It was entertaining enough by normal gaming standards, but by GTA standards, it was very average, which is not a good thing in my books. But I'm glad you have enjoyed it at least, that's always a good thing if you are satisfied with what you got in the end. I'm just wondering if any of you know of a better game? Since you asked, I'd say that in the current HD era and GTA-wise, GTA IV has a much better story than GTA V. IV's story is less comical, less goofy, with much a more darker, and serious tone to it, and it focuses much more on theme traditional GTA themes of organized crime and gangs, which I like best. But that's just my opinion based on my preferences and what I like, however you can always see for yourself by playing IV to compare. IV also has great DLC too (EFLC), so you should try that also. I've never played Red Dead Redemption but have heard that is good, it's going to take a lot for a game to give me as much enjoyment and time than what GTA 5 Story has RDR is a brilliant game, a masterpiece in fact and Rockstar's best game of the HD -era so far. I definitely believe that has a much better story than V, and I certainly enjoyed RDR''s story a lot more than I did V's. However, I will concede that some people may not like it - for instance, you may not like it if you're not into anything Western, or you don't like the idea of riding horses in video games. GTA IV is great storywise if you combine it with the DLC and play them in timeline order. And then there's non-Rockstar titles, few gems out there which have a better story than GTAV. I mean for all the gripes I have with it at least it has exceptional dialogue even if most of the characters irritate me to no end. However GTA IV, RDR and I would even through MP3 in there too are the best stories of R*'s recent stable to me. I would probably rank GTA V's just outside of that bunch. I think that V is an excellent example of GTA storytelling, and while I think it is a lot better than IV's, I know that some people prefer a more dark and gritty story, such as the one in IV. I can't argue for or against this, only say that it depends on one's tastes. I never played RDR so I cannot comment on how it compares to V. The OP asked for a personal comparison of how V compares to IV, because he wants to check if he's missed out on anything, as he's not yet played IV. Did you not read the OP properly ? If you paid proper attention to my posts in general, you would have known IV is not my favourite GTA. Its Chiro that always seeks to compare IV to V in nearly every thread he graces, but in this case no one has done that here.
