Oppressor Missiles Broken Vs Planes Flares

So while flying my planes I get shot at by oppressors a lot. However it seems to be a small glitch, as I get shot at I see the missiles incoming and pop flares, missiles hit the flares and blow up, tone goes away. All of a sudden my tail then explodes, no missile no tone. I don't know what is going on here but it's quite annoying.

For planes I would advise combining flares with maneuvers, spinning in circles, etc. Can't do that in helis, which is a shame (have some moves though) - but I guess a possible chance is better than nothing, so still worth getting flares anyway.

 

Oh, and while on the topic of flares and Oppressors - I would advise chaff for them, at least on a heli. Flares only redirect one missile at a time, whereas chaff will block any number of lock ons until its time is up. Since the Oppressor can spam missiles, this is important.

It's hit and miss. Sometimes I hear no beeping, but was sure something was fired so turn - then I hear an explosion later, and know I made the right move. Other times I do all that, but just get hit anyway.

 

I'm not really sure how it works to be honest. All you can do is try anyway.

 

But yeah, homing missiles have been glitched for a long, long time. As long as the homing launcher existed at any rate, let alone the Oppressor.

 

It's a good thing these new aircraft have better armour. Often I can make it back to the hangar for repairs if I get hit by anything. Still sucks though that this is still broken, they should fix it if they can.
