Best rifle to use against players and NPC’s

I dont know what is the best rifle to use in GTA 5 Online. My special carbine mk2 does the most damage, and my advanced rifle and carbine rifle take the same damage. I have heard that I should use the special carbine, even though it doesnt do as much damage. Which rifle is best?

Special carbine is very accurate and has a 100 round drum mag but less rpm than the advanced rifle and carbine mk2.

Carbine mk2 seems to be the best. Try kitting out the advanced rifle or special carbine with suppressors for stealth and have your mk2 with the a muzzle break and special ammo.

My special carbine stats are very similar to carbine rifle mk2, except carbine mk2 is a bit higher is damage, range. But the special carbine accuracy is a tad bit higher than carbine rifle mk2. So i still dont know

Combat MG is the best rifle

Rifle... No?.

OP, couldn't tell ya, though for NPC's it don't matter. Many players too, low levels especially...

Hit 'em in the head.

You've literally just answered your own question here!

Honestly though, anything but the Assault Rifle and Compact Rifle will do the job. As already mentioned, just aim for the head.

And little tip for the MKII Carbine: Add the heavy barrel, it helps a lot!

No cause stealth doesn't exist in this game. If you need a stealth weapon for NPC's stick to a pistol with suppressor.

If you don't have the bunker & MOC

Against players: Special Carbine

Against NPCs: Combat MG

If you have the bunker & MOC

Combat MkII with all upgrades against everyone

For fun and to feed the dark demons in your soul, use incendiary rounds against NPCs

Suppressors

Generally pointless, except in a few missions. You should have at least one suppressed weapon in your inventory (since you can't equip a suppressor outside of the MOC/Ammunation) but don't buy what you won't otherwise need, since you're trading damage and range for silence.

Well for the most part i use my suppressed bullpup rifle and my combat mg mk2. Both are excellent weapons for PvE and PvP. If you want something with a bit lower ammo costs the combat pdw and the assault smg could be a choice. However the smg's get a little inaccurate at higher range.

Marksman and Explosive Rifles are the most popular choices in terms of PvP,

My special carbine mk2 does the most damage, and my advanced rifle and carbine rifle take the same damage. I have heard that I should use the special carbine, even though it doesnt do as much damage.

All these options are useless against a sniper tryhard.

Sniper tryhards deserve to be involuntarily alone in lobbies and vote-kicked from populated ones. The Ps is "PvP" stand for "player", not (rhymes with 'wussy').

wouldn't a minigun suffice with both random players or npc's because of it's high rate of fire?

I usually use a Compact Rifle,it's has decent rate of fire, power and accuracy, good magazine size, and I can use it from a motorcycle.Sometimes I use a Special Carbine,if I'm fighting more dangerous enemies like the Professionals or Merryweather.

Don't know what's the best against other players,I only play in invite only session, and only do PVE jobs like contact missions and clubhouse contracts.

Just curious, a lot of experienced players answering here. Why would you choose anything besides the Combat MG? The 200 round magazine is the deal for me. I use it for everything from point blank range to just under sniper distance. It's been a long time since I used anythng besides that, the heavy sniper, and the AP pistol,

The Combat MG seems to work for me perfectly in situations where people use shotguns. And I can't see any reason at all for carbines or assault rifles as long as I have my damage dealing 200 shot combat mg.

I was remembering how it saved my butt so many times back when I was driving Post Op vans in Blaine Co for a living.

Special Carbine has better accuracy at a longer range

@Forza

Accuracy, and fire rate of other weapons are better. I choose my gun from situation to situation. The combat MG mk2 is great for PvP if I'm fighting a single person but if I'm fighting against multiple people I want something that has higher rate of fire so i choose my bulplup rifle.

When im fighting a vehicle on foot (players or npcs), the combat pdw is my weapon of choice and for extreme close range i use the assault shotgun.

If i want some very high accuracy, I pull out my heavy sniper, my pistol 50 cal or my machine pistol (tec 9) and when I am in a vehicle i use the uzi or the ap pistol and bikes the sawed off shotgun.

Thanks so much!!!

One more thing, what about suppressors? Should I add them?

Waste of money. The mk2 carbine sounds badass and is deadly af in the right hands. Supressors do nothing but tick your damage down a notch (why would i do that?) and as previosuly mentioned, there is no "stealth" in this game so really no need for it.

If you don't have the bunker upgrades yet, Combat MG or Carbine, all day, erry day.

I agree, I haven't used one of those little pea shooter rifles other people like to use for years and years now. I only use that, the heavy sniper and the revolver (to shoot buzzards from my insurgent lol), Oh I also use the homing launcher aimed via the sniper and the grenade launcher extensively and continuously, mostly to just make plenty smoke and noise but occasionally they kill people :p .

Same here. If I don't have a MOC, it's the Special Carbine, if I do, Carbine MKII.

What I mean by that is my second character doesn't have a MOC and I play on alternate accounts just cause. I've personally been warming up to the Advanced Rifle when it's suppressed. Very accurate when silenced and the sound is beautiful :inlove:

wouldn't a minigun suffice with both random players or npc's because of it's high rate of fire?

Lack of cover mechanics, being slowed down and unable to roll puts you at a disadvantage with this weapon, in trade for high DPS. Otherwise, we'd all be spamming the minigun lol

It's great against helicopters though.

Go with the carbine either special or the upgraded one. It is my personal opinion though to dump the rifles and just use a combat MG. I love the combat MG, its pretty much the only gun I use.
