I'm having a blast with this game as always, but last night when doing the mission Pier 69, after killing T-Bone Mendez, I got out my rocket launcher to try and stop Ryder from escaping. I fired a rocket at him, but missed and destroyed his boat instead. He couldn't get in the boat of course, so he swam to the island and just stood there waiting. I swam to the island, got ashore, walked up to Ryder and shot him with my pistol several times. I killed him in a more conventional, realistic way, rather than in some high-octane speed boat chase and explosion scene out of a Hollywood action movie. Never knew he could be killed this way! There a few missions, such as this, where you can use vehicles, weapons, or even approaches different from the ones that the game implies must be used. Just thought I'd share my experience! Lol Interesting stuff. I saw a video in YouTube a few years ago, using the rocket launcher and the sniper, but your method looks better and realistic indeed. As much as I liked him, he had to die. He was that idiot who got led astray and betrayed you, and therefore he had to pay for his dim-witted decision making. The boat chase bored me eventually, because it's just another mission that involves a chase and an explosion. I'd rather a proper, up-close execution. HD Era is too scripted and never lets you make your own choices during Missions. You can practically do WHATEVER you want in the 3D Era and the Missions will carry on like normal and can pass them.
