Well worth listening to

Re: the Broughy video. It really surprised me, coming from a person who's usually so mild-mannered and reasoned. I didn't expect that from him, and tbh felt like he was jumping on the Rockstar band-wagon of criticism a bit too late. We've been discussing Rockstar's shady practices for years, and the last six months have been really heated since the Gunrunning update, so why the sudden foul-mouthed rant at Rockstar? He knew the Lazer was coming for months, as well all did, so it was no surprise for any of us, so why was this video even made? For the purposes of attention grabbing. That's a bit silly coming from someone who makes a healthy living from Rockstar content. Like he says in his video - Rockstar have given him absolutely nothing over the years, and he's had to pay for it like everyone else, but he doesn't give anything to Rockstar either, but makes money from them by using their content for his own purposes, without permission, without license, for free. In fact, he's using a modded billionaire account right there in his video.

Biting the hand the feeds you is a bit silly, don't you think? And attention grabbing YouTube videos too? Sort it out, man. And of course you're never going to play another Rockstar game, or a future GTA online title, right? I questioned why I watch Broughy videos after this, and why I subscribe to his YouTube channel, and it's certainly not for rants like that.

Unbiased and neutral information, please.

You've misunderstood Broughy, he's upset Rockstar destroyed a perfectly good game he loved and are contributing to the downfall of gaming, simple as that

I'm not expecting a pat on the back for those comments, but I'm asking him not to post stuff like that again. We've all been aware for quite some time that the Lazer would cost 6.5M, so no more attention grabbying YouTube videos, please.

Actually, Broughy has been critizicing R* for its handling of GTAO since a long time, at least for things related to racing like that glitch that removed Turbo when taking a car out of the garage, Gunrunning messing with the Downforce multiplier, R* releasing an expensive car and then releasing a faster and more expensive one later, etc.

Sure, it's kinda silly that he got fed up with the outrageous Lazer price, but he's not stranger to call out R* for their sh*tty practices, everyone has a tipping point and Broughy finally got up to his. At least he seems to enjoy GT Sport, an actually good racing game with no ramming, no curb boosting and actually free DLC.

BTW, when was the last time that someone like MrClickbaitWTF, the GTA related YouTuber with most reach, critiziced R* instead of licking their asses?

Wait, what? Have you seen his recent GT Sport videos? Ramming has been a thing in two of his videos now. In fact, the ramming was so bad that he named one of his video ''Scumbags everywhere!''.

So yeah, it's definitely a thing in there as well, though Broughy manages it well.

I meant to say that at least GT Sport tries to punish ramming, unlike GTA Online. Granted, GT Sport is a proper racing simulator and GTA Online is an murderous asshole simulator lmao.

I'll probably get sh*t for this but I kind of find it a little funny that broughy is talking about everything with R*/T2 is about getting as much money as possible (greed) when he's slowly turning in to the rest of all the scrub youtubers..

Before he reached 100K subscribers it was all about getting the test videos out as fast as possible, now it seems it's more important getting uninteresting rambling videos out. I know it hasn't exactly been that much to test lately but this has been going on for a while now

He's been criticizing the bugs, etc in the game for a long time so that's not new or surprising

Edit: it's a lot of ramming in GT sport, I've actually wondered a couple of times if all the dirty racers in gta switched to GT sport.. They try to punish people for it but they're not doing a very good job..

He's already posted a back-track on that Lazer video, explaining why he did it and also letting us all know he'll be pumping out two GTA online videos per week, or something like that.

Yeah, a big FU that was, LOL.

Just on the point of alternative games for a moment GT Sport is great but I noticed there's a sale on Elite dangerous at the moment for PSN subscribers on PS4. There's a lot of people playing that A LOT and love it.

I get the criticisms of Broughy posted above, I've had similar thoughts myself regarding his content pre/post 100k subs.

If SR came out a year ago we'd already have testing videos for all the aircraft etc.

But as pointed out, it's his channel and he can and should make the content he wants, when he wants.

His latest video regarding the future of his channel has given me a bit of an epiphany. Broughy said something along the lines of that he will now use GTA as a tool to make the experiences he wants rather than having the experience R* wants him to have.

I've been grinding my @ss off since the end of the I/E drip feed. Dedicated practically a whole year of my gaming, and for what? The hope that something "better", more engaging is around the corner. For me personally nothing "better" has come along since mid December last year.

There have been a few highlights, the classic 80's supers, Retinue & Rapid GT Classic, most of the SR aircraft, in particular the Hunter.

But other than those few exceptions it's been uninspiring copy/paste gameplay. Awful clothing, BS military vehicles, pay & time walls. Worst of all the push of all new content being directed solely at Shark Card sales.

Well f*ck it. I'm not done with the game, I'm not cutting my nose off to spite my face, but I'm not playing the game the way R* would like. I play to collect cars and have always enjoyed the aesthetics of aircraft, so all the BS military sh*t is getting sold, I'm sat on over $100m before that, and my grind is done.

I'll continue to buy and modify the vehicles I like, I'll continue to take photos (that I don't share as the quality is poor, but I enjoy it), I might occasionally race. When my money is gone I'll basically solo lobby I/E as and when a new vehicle I like comes out.

I should be R*s target audience, I've been playing since the original GTA, I've invested 20 years into the franchise, I have a good amount of disposable income and not much time to play. Instead I'm cast aside as a freeloader because I see through the shady business practices and, frankly, sh*t content.

All that being said, if R* surprise me and release something of quality, gameplay wise, I will play that content.

Anyway, mostly completely off topic and uninteresting to read. Had to get it off my chest though.

GT Sport has a ghosting feature for that, correct? Regardless, you can still shunt and rear end people on GT Sport, though it's no where near as bad GTA, especially with that horrible, horrible ketchup system.

I don't want to turn this into a discussion about something else but......

Shunting, blocking, driving backwards is a legitimate tactic in GTA. If this game was PGR, GT, F1 (for example) you may have had a point.

Ah, the ketchup, the sole reason why I hardly ever race anymore. It feels so wrong when the guy who ain't faster than you wins, without you making mistakes ofcourse.

What did you just type, driving backwards? Part of racing? No wonder the racing in Online sucks. Nobody is going to win while driving backwards so why anybody should be doing it, other than ruining it for others.

No offense, but the "it's GTA" excuse is getting old at this point, this is GTA, not a sh*tty version of Burnout.

Even while ramming your competition out of your way may be a valid (albeit sh*tty) tactic to win, blocking the track or driving backwards is not a legitimate tactic, at all. You can't win doing that, unless you goal is to be a dick as much as possible.

Hell, once I had to deal with a dipsh*t blocking the entrance to a tunnel with a Molotok of all things in a 15 minute Transform Race.

What it is, is bad game design. All they need to do to fix this is ghost cars that aren't hitting new checkpoints in a halfway reasonable amount of time (it would have to be calculated based on the track and distance between checkpoints, but that's not the hardest thing to code). That would prevent trolls and teamed-up scrubs from ruining racing for people who are actually good at it.

I find it good that he did that, if it wakes up any others to that bullsh*t I consider that a job well done. Those of us here may be aware but the heavy sleepers amongst us may not and need an extra prod. Such videos could be the prodding they need.

Unless I miscounted, he swore three times in a 6+ minute video. That's not much of a foul-mouthed rant. Maybe it matters that I happen to agree with most of what he said. Maybe it is a little odd to single out the Lazer as the straw that broke the camel's back - but when you add it up, what Broughy's saying makes perfect sense. This is a vehicle they put next to no new work into. It was already in the game and readily available. You're not paying for their work in the slightest, you're just paying a yacht-level price to have something powerful and be able to spawn it in a more convenient place. That's it. I understand and co-sign his frustration, though for me, the camel's back was already broken.

Maybe he could have left the f*cks out, but ultimately I am in favor of anyone calling for boycotts on 1) microtransaction buying, and 2) buying of any game with an abusive microtransaction model, which this game has had for a long time. (Arguably since it was released, though it's gotten so much worse over the last few years.) I'm especially in favor of it when it's a popular YouTuber with a broad audience. GTA Online is due for its "most downvoted comment in Reddit history" type of moment. This is probably not it, but maybe it's a stepping stone.

I am guessing this has been said before, but isnt it funny that the name shark cards implies a predatory business practice is afoot...yet people were/are seriously buying them. In a way, its almost like R* thought no one will buy these if we call them shark cards. We are telling you they are predatory, but then R* and their corporate masters realized the vast majority of people that buy them are so dumb and foolish, let just go full on with the cards, and R* was like ok. 100k for a racing suit. Yeah, 50k for a mask. Yeah, 4mil for a titan with dusty guns and no armor.

My point is can you really blame them. Its almost like they put a sign up saying do not enter, and people continued to enter.

R* has been relatively passive when it comes to cheating in game. I do not think it would be hard to see who has glitched money. Yet, they have given the majority a pass. And thats why shark cards get a pass in my opinion.

Its kindve harsh for you pc players if you didnt cheat, which I doubt most didnt in some form, but thats not really my point. If you got banned and lost your rights, then for me that would be it. However if I wasnt bant, I would just attempt to mod all my stuff back the way it was and more. But I quit pc the moment I was harassed by a menu user. I mean hate to say it, but pc players are a bit like shark cards buyers, execept it wasnt explicitly told to you right up front. "Warning, you are about to get screwed." But after playing in FM for a couple of weeks it should have been apparent. Not trying to say you "all" cheated at some point, but most of you pc players did at some point. Even if you wont admit it. Whats sad is that the anticheat that robbed players is probably now beatable by newer menus...lol.

But after playing in FM for a couple of weeks it should have been apparent. Not trying to say you "all" cheated at some point, but most of you pc players did at some point. Even if you wont admit it. Whats sad is that the anticheat that robbed players is probably now beatable by newer menus...lol.

It's the kiddies convincing their parents, and it's the ones who don't mind paying for shark cards because they don't want to grind.

At least he seems to enjoy GT Sport, an actually good racing game with no ramming,

Wait, what? Have you seen his recent GT Sport videos? Ramming has been a thing in two of his videos now. In fact, the ramming was so bad that he named one of his video ''Scumbags everywhere!''.

So yeah, it's definitely a thing in there as well, though Broughy manages it well.

Usually in Grand Turismo the racing is clean anyway, especially if you are racing with Europeans of Japanese drivers. If you do get his 99% of the time they will hand the place back too.

People now understand just how dreadfully GTA online is being managed from a marketing perspective, and the more we speak up about it the better the gaming experience will be in the future.

I totally agree. Do not buy shark cards or fuel this fire any more, and I have absolutely no enthusiasm for RDR2 at the moment, and am planning to gauge the situation after its release instead of just jumping in and getting suckered into pointless and fruitless grinding from day one.

I'm really hoping that T2 is watching the EA backlash with absolute respect for the gaming community, and will not pull a stupid stunt like that with the Christmas DLC just around the corner. If they disrespect us they're going to be in for a massive public stoning of major proportions.

Yep, I think so...kids who dont understand, imagine the shark card defense in court, "ladies and gentlemen of the jury, it was on the parents to monitor their kids, we even called our predatory proudct shark cards for crying out loud."

I think the organic nature of this game's microtransaction is why it has succeeded, if R* force it, it will backfire. I would like to think RDR2 is gonna be a similar model. Great story mode, optional online, with optional micros, that allows fudging.

Someone always wins. This is not the sims nor is it F1. Have fun, I do.

Honest question, you block the way or drive backwards on races?
90% of the time I race to win. GTAIV/V Race and Vanilla racing. You have issues with that. I understand.

Don't worry, I misunderstood you, I thought that you were defending trolling in races as legitimate tactics for winning.

I mentioned it once before but incase anyone else doesn't understand the meaning of Shark cards (Card Shark) it means.. "the term has also taken on the meaning of an expert card gambler who takes advantage of less-skilledplayers" and that's exactly what they do with it. Like you say.. the "less skilled players" are so silly they bite anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a joke more or less originally but people bought them and once Rockstar saw $$$$$$$$$$$$$ everything changed...

Remember when R* used to mock overmilitarized shooters (Righteous Slaughter 7) and games with microtransactions (DigiFarm) and then proceed to turn GTA Online into exactly that?

They've truly turned into a caricature of themselves. And what's sad is that it was probably intentional too.
