How does teambalancing work in a deathmatch?

I always end up on the short end of the stick when it comes to team balancing on tdms, even on my lower level account. There was literally a match with ranks 43, 47, and 9 vs two rank 187's and a rank 60. One of the guys on the other team was in my crew too. Is it just completely randod

Probably based on k/d rather than rank

Nope I also tested this. I've ended up matches with all sub 1.00 kd's and in the other side typical rebreather tryhards.

That's the thing; it doesn't work! I've played thousands of deathmatches and it seems to be purely random or perhaps based upon the order in which you joined the lobby. What is odd though is that the host of the deathmatch is generally the one split from his or her friends and/or crewmates. The only way my friends and I used to have any sort of luck in regards to being put on the same team was for one of us to join a random match via on-call and have the rest of us select to join their session via party chat. Generally this worked most of the time; however, I cannot confirm as to whether or not it works now as I haven't played a deathmatch in probably half a year or more. Yeah though, the matchmaking is beyond broken and it doesn't seem to take into account levels, K/D, or anything for that matter aside from perhaps who is hosting and when exactly you accept the invitation to join the lobby.

Yea, I was on a ten spree with my friend and it took us 11 matches to finally be placed on the same team.

I think it's pure random. I played PvP modes with autobalancing ON and i failed to figure out the logic behind it.

Isn't team balancing mostly that you can't change team when you're on the screen that shows which team you're on? And the order you join determine the team, f ex: you can have 10 players, the host and the first 4 gets on the same team as long as it fills up

I know this is the case with adversary modes at least
